“Pretty good… Especially with you in my arms,” Sterling mumbled, pressing his face into her cheek. “Did you sleep at all?”
“Pretty good… Especially with you in my arms,” Sterling mumbled, pressing his face into her cheek. “Did you sleep at all?”
Eden chuckled at him.
“I’m glad,” she kissed his cheek next before she sighed. “No, not really. I slept for a few minutes, but…”
Sterling grunted and buried his face in her neck again. “M’hungry… What do you have for food?”
Eden stifled a laugh. He was so adorable. If he acted like that every morning… Eden wouldn’t mind having him stay over nights.
“I don’t know,” Eden admitted. “Cereal, leftover pizza from yesterday night—Luke and Ash love pizza—, there’s also rice… I think.”
“Lucas and Ashley are here?” Sterling asked, pulling away to yawn. “Maybe we could go out for breakfast with them…”
“It’s nine in the morning,” Eden muttered. “Waking either of them up at this time would be suicidal.”
Sterling chuckled and nudged her cheek with his nose. “They sleep late?” he mumbled. “How long have they been dating?”
“Three years?” Eden shrugged, snuggling deeper into him. “They’ve been in love for years.”
“Cute… How long have you guys known Ashley?” Sterling wondered, still sleepy.
“Diaper days,” Eden responded, closing her eyes. “Our parents are childhood friends.”
Sterling hummed and kissed her cheek, his lips lingering on the skin, brushing against it as he spoke. He was really just too tired to move, if he was being honest…
“Cool… Must be nice having friends who know you so well.”
“That sort of friendship is what hurts the most,” Eden found herself muttering rather bitterly. “Not realizing anything. Being years late.”
Sterling pulled away to look at her curiously, his sleep-blurred eyes clearing. “Eden… What’s wrong?”
Eden shook her head.
“Nothing,” she answered, burying her face in his chest. “Absolutely nothing.”
“It’s not nothing, E…” Sterling sighed, running his fingers through her hair. “But you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”
“It’s Sunday,” Eden murmured instead of answering. “What do you want to do today?”
“Hm… Kiss you. Take you out on a date. Kiss you some more,” Sterling chuckled, nudging her cheeks with his nose again.
Eden smiled and wrapped herself tighter around her boyfriend. “Sounds like a plan,” she said. “But at least let me brush my teeth before you kiss me.”
“But I want to kiss you now,” Sterling groaned playfully, kissing the spot right in front of her ear. “We should eat, too… I’m hungry.”
Eden shivered at his kiss, closing her eyes. “You’ll need to wait,” she cupped his face in her hands. “I’ll make breakfast for you, then. How about it?”
“As long as you let me help you, sure,” Sterling murmured, swiping a swift kiss from her lips with a grin.
“Hey!” Eden laughed, smacking him on the shoulder. “That’s terrible, Sterling. Kiss me properly now.”
Sterling hummed and huffed to sit up. “No, no. I can’t kiss you until after you brush your teeth, remember?” he teased with a smirk. “Besides: morning breath.”
Eden gaped at him as he stole her words, glaring.
“You, Ainsley, are a jerk,” she huffed, pulling herself to her feet and stretching. It caused her shirt sleeves to slip off her arms, exposing the deep scratches she’d given herself. Eden immediately pulled her arms down, feigning nonchalance. “I’m going to the bathroom.”
Sterling reached out a hand, taking hers gently as he got to his feet. He looked down at her arm, even though it was covered, and sighed. Glancing back up at Eden, he gently pulled her closer and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
“Don’t take too long,” he murmured in a halfhearted joke.
