Lucas laughed as she parked the car.

“I agree,” he said softly. “I hope she’s happy.”

(Lol. XD It's fine.)

"I'm sure she is, babe. Just like I'm happy with you," Ashley said, her smile soft as she looked over at him.

(I fixed it.)

Lucas grinned and exited the car, waiting for Ashley to do the same thing.

“Well, I hope you are, otherwise I’m not doing my job very well.”

(;P I saw, thanks.)

Ashley chuckled as she followed suit, then walked over to Lucas. "Well, I'm more than happy, so I think you're doing your job perfectly.

(I almost typed Hunter. 🤣 😭)

Lucas held her hand and squeezed it tightly as they walked inside.

“That’s good,” he looked over the counter. “So you wanted fries? What about a burger and drink?”

(XD Lol. That would’ve been funny.)

“Hm… A double cheeseburger and a strawberry milkshake sounds good,” Ashley mused as they stepped inside.

Lucas nodded and went to order before coming back with a receipt. He was glad there wasn’t any traffic, but it was working days so there wasn’t a surprise.

“We’re number 19,” I told Ashley as I sat down next to her.

“Awesome. Thanks, babe,” Ashley said, leaning over to kiss his cheek. “How did your classes go?”

(I feel like they already asked that, but I also feel like it could have been Steed, so… 🤷🏼‍♀️)

(I don't remember. :o)

Lucas shrugged.

"They went by like a snail," I shrugged. "I kept missing you, so it was torturous. What about you?"

Ashley smiles softly and interlaced their fingers. “I missed you, too. I enjoyed my Intro to Chem class today. It’s pretty interesting.”

Lucas scrunched his nose before he brought Ashley's hand to his mouth to place a gentle kiss.

"I'm not a big fan of Chemistry, but I'm glad you enjoyed it."

“Well, it comes with the job,” Ashley chuckled. “Gosh, I’m going to be in college forever… But, ya know, science.”

Lucas laughed before their number was called. He quickly went ahead to grab their lunch before setting it on the table.

“Man, I’m starving!”

Ashley chuckled a bit and took a sip of her milkshake. “Mm… Nothing like a strawberry milkshake to make your day…”

Lucas grinned and took a big bite of his burger, chewing softly before swallowing.

“I feel revived!”

Ashley laughed and poked him in the arm playfully. “Oh, yes. I can feel your muscles growing from the burger,” she teased before sticking a few fries in her mouth.

Lucas gasped.

“Hey! That was so mean!” Okay, so he didn’t go to the gym, but he was fit! Maybe he wasn’t as fit as he liked to be, but he was! “How rude, Ashley. Making fun of your boyfriend’s non-existent abs.”

“Aw, sorry, babe,” Ashley laughed, kissing his cheek. “Next time I’ll make fun of your amazing dancing, okay?”

Lucas rolled his eyes.

“And how does that make anything better?”

Ashley shrugged, chuckling. “I dunno, babe. But maybe we should just eat.”

Lucas nodded, taking another bite of his burger before taking a sip of his drink.

Soon, they were done and ready to go back to college.

“Ugh…” Ashley groaned when she’d finished. “I don’t want to go back to school… I want to stay with you…”

Lucas nodded in understanding.

“I know,” he agreed sullenly. “Me neither, but we have to.”

“I know,” Ashley sighed dramatically as she stood. “You ready, then?”

Lucas nodded and stood up, linking their fingers together. Finally, they reached their college.

Ashley parked the car and Lucas stretched.

“Well, I suppose I’ll see you after school now,” he commented sadly.
