((Aaahhhhhhhh!! So did I kinda forget about Notebook? Maybe. That took a lot longer than I ever thought, I sincerely apologize. I won't be super active still though, at least not as active as I was before the unexpected hiatus. Once again, I'm very sorry about that.))
(Nah you’re okay! I understand that! Life gets tough and sometimes unexpected hiatuses do us a lot of good. Take your time.”
(Thank you so very much! I'll try to reply soon enough :)
(No problem! Reply when you can and have a wonderful day or night!)
(Thank you again lol :)
Eugene giggled contagiously. "Ah yes, the falls. I have definitely heard them, but I bet the people below us heard them even more." He said, taking to cookie pans of the counter, opening the oven with his foot since his hands were full. With a bright smile, Gene shoved the pans into the oven and started the timer. "And now!… We wait."
(No probs!! Be safe!)
Jay had to cover his mouth he was laughing so hard. “Ah they’ve called the manager or whoever runs this place multiple times on me. I can’t help it if I’m naturally clumsy.” He mused, watching Eugene with curiosity. “How long do we wait?”
(You too! <3)
"Exactly 17 minutes. No more, no less. In the meantime, what shall we do?" Eugene asked with a smile as he looked over to Jay. Not more than a minute later, he started grabbing the dirty dishes and rinsing them a little and putting them in the sink. "I'll take care of those later."
(Thanks! <3)
"That's a good question. Wanna get to know each other a little bit better? I'm interested in what else you'd like to do." Jay beamed at Eugene, leaning against the counter. "I guess I really haven't tried to get to know you too well. I'd like to, especially if we're living together, you know?"
"Sounds like a plan to me. But how? I'm bad at ice-breakers and stuff." Eugene went around the counter next to Jay. He hoisted himself up onto the counter, sitting on the edge. "We're so weird though, you know? We could have known each other very well and been friends all year, but no. We had to be the antisocial people we are and not even say anything more than 'hi'. Better wayy late than never, I guess."
"Hmm… I'm sure we'll find a way. I'm bad at them too." He chuckled softly, running a hand through his hair. It was a nervous tic of his. "We really are weird, but I'll have you know you intimidated me. I have a fear of attractive people." He teased, grinning slyly. "Wonder what they call that anyways, the fear of people attractive to you. Is that just a basic knowledge of who's in your league and who isn't?"
Eugene smiled shyly. He never got complimented this much. "Are you hitting on me? Already? I would have waited at least 24 hours before hitting on you." He giggled, teasing back. His legs swung back and forth, hanging over the counter.
"Maybe I am. Maybe I'm not. I am stating facts, however. I do find you attractive, if that counts towards anything, I am shameless with that." He laughed softly and flashed the most charming smile he could muster. It was a shame he was so awkward, as it didn't come out too well.
"It counts towards my happiness and that means a lot. Thank you. If this counts as anything, you are quite attractive as well. If I'm being brutally honest, it's not your conventional type of attractiveness, it's something more refined, like sour foods or coffee. Some people love it and some people aren't a fan of it. I, however, am a fan of both of the things I mentioned." Eugene thought about what he was saying and laughed at himself. That was total nonsense.
Jay laughed, standing up straight and moving to grab himself a cup of water. "I'm honored to be considered a refined taste, you know. It kind of boosts my confidence. I thought I was just ugly, maybe I'm just refined." He laughed at himself and gently nudged Eugene. "Thanks again, it really does mean a lot."
"You're very welcome. I'm glad to boost your confidence, I count that as a personal win." Eugene smiled and grabbed the water cup out of jay's hands, taking a sip and quickly handing it back. He giggled before sliding off the counter. "I'm gonna change into something more comfortable, be back in a jiffy."
He blinked as Eugene took his water, blushing lightly as he was handed back the cup. He laughed gently, turning to hide his face and the large grin that had spread across his face. "A-alright, I'll see you in a little bit. Don't be gone too long. I don't know what to do with cookies!" He giggled, taking a quick sip from the water again.
Eugene dashed to hir room, closing the door behind him. He, very quickly, changed out of his clothes and into high-waisted black sweatpants and an almost crop-top deep purple tee shirt. Only a couple minutes had passed before he was back in the kitchen, glancing at the timer on the oven. He smiled at Jay and returned to his seat on the counter.
"Looking good." Jay teased playfully. He flashed a bright smile and stretched out his arms. "You look good in purple, use that information wisely." He hummed, setting his cup down. "Yes I am a shameless flirt, but again, I'm telling you all truths." He hummed, glancing at the oven. "Thank you for this, though. I'm actually having a lot of fun."
"That parcel of information, I actually knew. But, nonetheless, it's really nice to hear it from someone besides my mom. And I can tell we're gonna feed off each other because your shameless flirting paired with my physical and more touchy nature is gonna get us far… somehow" Gene grinned and turned his head to see Jay. "And I'm having fun as well. Being isolated, even from your roommate only gets you so far."
"Ah good. We'll be a good duo then, flirty Jay and the lovely Eugene!" He chuckled, shaking his head as he thought over that. He would like to at least be friends with Eugene if not more. He was fun to hang around, and he was really liking their compatibility already. "It really does… Thank's again for it all, I like hanging out with you. Lets keep doing things together, become friends,"
"Well, that makes two of us. Lucky for us, we'll be stuck in here for quite a while. And now that we know each other, I don't think it's possible to ignore and stay away from one another. This is the perfect situation really." Eugene already loved Jay, whether it be friendly or something more, he wasn't sure in the slightest.
The timer went off and Gene slid off the counter once again walking with complete calm over to the oven. He put on the oven mitts and took the cookie sheets out of the over, placing them on a cooling rack that he had set out before. "Okay, no eating them yet. They're really hot and crumbly. These cookies set a little as they cool."
“You better not ignore me, I’ll be a thorn in your side,” Jay joked, winking as he laughed. “Quarantine might not be so bad now.”
He perked up when the oven went off, excitedly following Eugene as he set the cookies down.
“They set as they cool? I didn’t know cookies could do that.” His eyes widened as he leaned down a little to study the cookies, beaming. “They smell really good.”
"I don't think I would even want to ignore you. You're too great to be ignored, yet I did for the whole school year so take my words as a grain of salt I guess." Eugene giggled. He took off the oven mitts and threw them on the counter. "Not all cookies do, but these ones do. I'm actually not sure why, they just do."
Jay shook his head lightly. “Guess we were just busy with our own things.” He offered, smiling brightly.
“Well, either way, I’m excited for them. They look good.”
