"I know." he replied in a soft tone.
She laughed a little bit, clearing her throat and thinking for a moment. "Uhm…let's see. Ah. This is another odd question, but. If you had to choose your manner of death, and it couldn't be peacefully in your sleep, what would you choose?"
She nodded, giving a soft sigh still feeling apologetic.
“Wow! You're coming up with some really thought-provoking questions.” Sophie pointed out with a slightly strained chuckle. “Uhm… would it be selfish of me to say “in a blaze of glory”?” she asked in reply.
He kissed her cheek softly.
She laughed. "Nah, that makes sense."
She managed a small smile at that, though she still wasn't convinced and felt badly.
Sophie blushed a little. “I guess it's just a part of me that would like to be remembered for something…”
He gave her another faint little smile.
She nodded. "Again, I get it."
She smiled again. “I am sorry for upsetting you.”
Sophie smiled softly. “What about you? How would you choose to go?”
He shrugged his shoulders. "It's alright." he replied softly.
"Probably the same thing. But, if it couldn't be that…I'd prefer a gunshot to the head. Quick and painless, you know?"
She sighed and laid her head on his shoulder.
“That seems like an agreeable second choice.” Sophie nodded.
He kept his arms wrapped around her, holding her close.
She smiled a little bit. "Yeah. It's quick."
She smiled softly, easily melting into his arms.
“So I've heard. And it's supposed to be painless.” Sophie agreed.
He kept holding her, gentle.
"Supposedly. Not that anyone can tell us that for sure."
She nuzzled against his neck.
“That’s true. And I don't believe in disturbing the dead.”
He kissed her again, still holding her.
She laughed a little bit. "Yeah, me either."
She hummed softly, blushing.
Sophie laughed softly with her.
He smiled again, still just holding her.
She smiled over at the other woman.
She sighed softly and closed her eyes.
Sophie smiled back. “Let’s see… It's my turn, right?”
He kept holding onto her, his own eyes drifting shut as well.
"Yeah, I believe so."
She sighed softly and tried to push away the guilt that she still felt, holding him a little bit closer.
“Alright.” Sophie nodded. “Uh, give me a second…”
He kissed her cheek softly, smiling a little bit.
She watched Sophie, smiling a little.
She smiled softly, feeling that instinctive reaction to just relax. “I swear you have magic in your kiss too.”
Sophie drummed her fingers against the arm of the couch as she tried to think of a good question to ask.
He laughed just a little bit. "I don't mean to."
She waited patiently.
She chuckled softly and smiled. “I believe you. But the effect you have on me… Magic is the only way I can think to describe it.”
“Alright, I give up. Here's just another simple one.” Sophie sighed. “Do you like any form of anime?”
He smiled back at her. "I suppose I'll take that as a compliment, then?" he asked, raising his eyebrows for a moment.
She paused. "I…don't know, actually. I've never watched it. Except for Howl's Moving Castle, which I enjoyed."
“You should.” she said softly with a brief nod.
“I actually just rewatched that one a few days ago. I forgot how good it was.” Sophie admitted. “Have to admit that Cal is one of my favorite characters in the movie but I plan to read the book at some point.”
He smiled again, letting out a soft laugh. "Then I will."
She nodded. "Yeah. I've read the book. It's…quite different, but still rather good."
