She blushed a little but managed to match his smile, feeling a little better.
Sophie grinned unashamedly back and gave her a playful wink.

Sophie grinned unashamedly back and gave her a playful wink.
He gestured vaguely with his other hand, and the plates made their way to the kitchen. He smiled again.
She laughed, returning the wink.
She chuckled softly. “Show off.”
Sophie laughed again, enjoying this version of back and forth.
He laughed. "What? It makes my life easier."
She stuck out her tongue.
She chuckled. “Well, I won't argue that… So I guess “lucky” would have been a better choice of words.” she teased.
Sophie laughed again before walking right up to her.
"Mm, yes." he laughed again, smiling at her.
She raised her eyebrows, smirking again.
She blushed a little at his smile despite smiling back.
Sophie bit her lip, hesitating for a moment, before brushing some of Raven’s hair back and gently kissing her forehead.
He glanced back to check on the plates; sometimes he misjudged the magic and they broke.
Raven blinked, a bit surprised, then smiled.
Jade followed his gaze but didn't say anything as she looked back at him.
Sophie fought back a blush and smiled back. “Hope you don't mind I did that.” she asked softly.
He returned his gaze to her after a moment, a soft smile at his lips.
"It's quite alright." she replied.
“I… I want to thank you, again, for letting me stay last night.” she smiled softly.
“Good. I didn't get a chance to do that last night but I know I was tempted.” Sophie admitted, her usual smirk coming back.
"Jade, it's not a problem. You're my partner, it's…it's no big deal." he replied, smiling back.
She laughed a little. "Ah, I see."
“Do you mean that?” she asked, a bright blush rising at the term he used. It may not have been meant the way that it sounded but it certainly made her heart jump.
Sophie nodded a little before shrugging. “Well, I may have had a different target in mind at the time but… Don't want to rush you.”
He blinked, nodding slightly. "I do. Yes."
She raised her eyebrows a little bit. "You're welcome to rush me a bit, if you like. I'll let you know if I'm uncomfortable with it."
“It’s just… that's the first time you said that you… I mean, you did say that you cared about me but…” she trailed off, unsure how to finish her thought.
Sophie smiled and shook her head slightly. “No. It's ok. I’m satisfied for now. But you can… If you want to.”
He cocked his head faintly, not quite sure what she meant. "What do you mena?"
She smiled softly. "Mm, maybe I will."
Jade sighed shook her head. “When I told you how I felt about you, you looked so uncomfortable with it that I switched to saying it in different languages that you wouldn't know just so I wouldn't have to hold back.” she explained. “But I don't remember you ever saying anything more than that you cared about me, and now you calling me your partner… It caught me off guard.”
“Go ahead, Ray-ray.” Sophie smirked.
"Oh. I…" he ran his hands through his hair, blinking at her.
She laughed, raising her eyebrows. "You sure about that?"
“Yeah.” she sighed softly, once again feeling very awkward for bringing up this topic.
“You tease.”Sophie chuckled.
He reached out, smiling softly as he wrapped an arm around her.
She laughed again, standing up so she and Sophie were on equal footing again.
Jade smiled softly back and leaned into his embrace. It felt calming after… everything she’d said.
Sophie took a step back, still smirking as she waited.
He kissed the top of her head, holding her close.
She smirked right back. "I can't do it now, you're expecting it. Gotta keep you on your toes."
Jade smiled softly at that. Realistically, she knew they had to have been close considering everything they had been through together… But it was still a surprise to hear him admit it.
Sophie grinned and gave a shrug. “I can respect that. It's more fun when it's more of a game.”
He kept holding her, arms wrapped around her.
Raven laughed. "Of course it is."
She closed her eyes and tried to let herself relax. It was still a little confusing to her; why he never said anything, why he had been so uncomfortable when she did, and yet he still thought of her this way…
Sophie chuckled, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall.
