(aka how a lot of my irl first dates go… 😅)
(lmao mood)
Raven laughed quietly as well, looking down at the counter for a moment.
(yeah. I'm terrible at casual small talk. Especially in a public setting.)
Sophie blushed a little and swirled the remainder of her drink around.
(sammmeee)
Raven took another sip of her drink.
“Enjoying your drinks, ladies?” Bud asked as he walked back to their end of the bar.
Sophie nodded, smiling a little at him. “As always.”
"Yeah, thanks." Raven said, smiling.
“Good to hear.” Bud chuckled. “Need anything else?”
“I’m good, thanks.” Sophie smiled, glancing over at Raven.
Raven smiled. "I'm fine too."
“Alright. Well, just let me know if you change your mind.” he nodded before smirking. “Or if you need to run out of here. This one is trouble most of the time. Fun but trouble.”
“Bud!!!” Sophie blushed, reaching over the bar to push at the man.
Raven laughed. "Oh, I'm sure I'll be fine."
Bud laughed and shook his head at Sophie's actions, not seeming to mind. “If you're sure. My offer still stands though.”
“You’re just jealous because we only had three official dates before we decided to just stay friends.” Sophie accused almost playfully.
Raven raised her eyebrows. "And the plot thickens." She teased.
“It’s not that interesting.” Sophie shook her head. “I just came here so often that Bud became a familiar face. And easy to talk to.”
Bud rolled his eyes. “There’s a bit more to it than that. She did come in here a lot. Sometimes with a date, sometimes just to make some money on pool games.” he clarified. “One night, she was more than a little drunk and the guys she was playing were a little smarter than she thought. I had to get her out of here fast.”
Raven nodded a little. "Ah, alright. I see."
“It was not that bad,” Sophie grumbled.
“Uhh… Yeah, it was.” Bud scoffed. “I don't know what happened that day but you couldn't even walk a straight line that night. I practically had to haul you out over my shoulders.”
She laughed quietly.
Sophie's ears were burning as Bud told their story, not noticing that her ice cubes had melted. “Keep it up, Bud, and you're going to need a fresh shirt.” she warned almost playfully but there was enough danger in her eyes for the threat to be serious.
Bud chuckled and put his hands up in good-natured surrender. “Alright, alright. But you do know that if I didn't like you, I could have you thrown out for that.” he smirked. “Enjoy your date.” were his last words as he went back to work.
Raven was laughing as Bud walked away, smiling over at Sophie.
Sophie shook her head, huffing a little as she tried to get over that embarrassing moment. “I’m glad you liked that. He's one of the few people who can make me blush like this.” she said with a soft smirk.
She smiled, nodding. "I see, I see."
Sophie chuckled and gave a brief shrug. “But there have been plenty of times I've made Jade turn darker than your hair.”
Raven laughed. "I'm sure, she seems like the type."
“She definitely is.” Sophie nodded. “In fact… She told me to delete this but…” she smirked pulled out her phone and opened to the photo of Jade and Killian cuddling and half asleep on the couch.
"Awww, is that the boyfriend?"
