"So I can drive." Killian replied with a laugh. "But I'm okay eating wherever." He added, looking over at her with a teasing smile.
"So I can drive." Killian replied with a laugh. "But I'm okay eating wherever." He added, looking over at her with a teasing smile.
Jade smirked and shook her head. ”Boys and the toys that aren't even theirs.” she teased. ”I’m fine with leaving but won't it be a little difficult to get the pizza back on the bike?” she asked with a raised brow wondering if he had an idea for that. He had proven to be, surprisingly, innovative.
Killian thought for a moment. "Hm." He made a face. "I can use magic to put it away until we get wherever we're going?" He suggested with a shrug. "I don't know."
Jade chuckled at his answer. Why have I been forgetting to account for his magic today? I never do when we're… being hero and villain but today… She pushed her thoughts aside for now and nodded. ”Aside from the two things you mentioned earlier, is there anything that you can’t do with your skill?” she asked softly as to not be overheard.
Killian tipped his head a little, thinking. "Hm. Depends. I'm sure I could accomplish just about anything if I got creative enough." he chuckled softly. "I mean…I don't know. I've never really tried to find something that I couldn't do."
Jade raised a brow intrigued by the admission and the possibilities that brought up. ”Well, if you ever need someone to bounce ideas off of, I’d be willing to help.” she offered genuinely as they approached the counter.
Killian chuckled softly. "Mm." he replied, and ordered their pizza. He handed her the cup for a large soda, holding one in his other hand. "Soda fountain's over there." he added, gesturing.
Jade nudged him gently, as she pulled out her half of the payment for their lunch. ”I know where it is. What do you want?” she asked as she took his cup as well and handed him the money.
Killian took the money, handing her the cup. "Coke." he replied as he paid, half her money, half his. He flashed her a quick smile, and took the receipt, thanking the person behind the counter.
Jade nodded, a small shy smile on her face, as she walked over to the machine, getting the same for herself. Why am I acting this way? Sure, he's been kind, charming… But I’ve been on actual civilian dates before and this isn’t even a date in the first place. She sighed and shook her head, trying to think straight again.
Killian waited at the counter for the pizza, drumming his fingers. He took a deep breath, letting it out with a soft sigh.
Jade managed to shake off the weird feeling and smiled normally as she brought back the two full cups. ”So, once the food is done, do you want to go back to my place or yours?” she asked handing him his drink.
Killian took a sip of his drink. "Hm. Up to you." He replied with a shrug. "I don't have a preference, although my place is more comfortable." He chuckled softly.
Jade nodded. ”I'm not going to argue with that. Yours is certainly homier than my place is but that might be because mine is more of a workshop with a college students budget for everything but the equipment.” she chuckled unembarrassed.
Killian chuckled. "Mm. I…never went to college, so. I've never had to deal with that." He replied, taking another sip of his soda.
Jade shrugged. ”It’s not for everyone. Honestly, I tested out of it as soon as I could. Got most of my extra education after that from mail-in and online classes.” she admitted.
Killian nodded, then shrugged. "I didn't go to college because of…other reasons, but yeah." He replied, looking away for a moment.
Jade looked at him in concern. She knew he probably wasn't going to tell her but before she could stop herself, ”What other reasons?” she blinked in surprise as her mind caught up with her mouth. ”I’m sorry, you don't have to answer but whatever the reason, I promise I won't judge.”
Killian looked at her. "Not answering that. Sorry." He replied calmly. He got the pizza when it was ready, holding it with one hand, the soda in the other. "Let's go." He said.
Jade nodded accepting his answer and followed him to the door. ”It’s ok. I'm sorry for asking.” she told him before taking a sip of her own drink.
"It's fine. Can you get the door?" Killian asked, glancing at her. He took a sip of his drink, still holding the pizza in one hand.
”Sure.” Jade nodded and held open the door for him. She glanced at her bike for a moment. ”Maybe I should install cup holders somewhere… Nah, never mind. Too impractical for ”work”, too obvious to be civilian.”
Killian chuckled. "Eh. We can put the drinks with the pizza." He replied. He mumbled a spell, and the pizza vanished. He grinned.
”You’re amazing when you want to be, aren't you?” Jade smiled, more relaxed and still impressed by his magic and how casually he could use it. She was much more familiar with the offensive and defensive aspects of it.
Killian smirked, and winked. "Oh, anywhere and always, darling." He drawled, the cups vanishing as well. He got on the bike.
