Honor laughed a little and shook her head, scooping up the cooked bacon and putting a few pieces on his plate, "No. I mean, I do eat a lot since I need the energy when working, but never this amount. If I go to the store today I'll be sure to buy some extra so we don't go hungry within two days."
(btw, your character has no way of knowing this yet, but just so you know, Oscar doesn't technically need to eat any more than a normal human. He just feels hungry all the time for unrelated reasons. We can have them discover this pretty soon, I just thought I'd let ya know in the meantime XD)
Oscar nodded slowly. "All right." After a moment, his mind wandered and he changed topics. "What are we going to do if we see the Goldenrod….people? What if they're still looking for us?"
(lol ok XD)
"I don't doubt they're still looking for you, which is why I've been thinking that it's unwise for you to be so close to the agency. Maybe I'll have to take a road trip for a few months and you'll have to come with," She suggested, finally flipping the final three eggs onto her plate and the remainder of the bacon before turning everything off and putting the dirty pans in the sink to wash later. Honor came and sat by Oscar before digging into her food, trying to think of where she would travel first if they ever went through with this road trip plan. Maybe out west. That would be fun.
"A road trip?" Oscar finished his own food and opened the dictionary to try and find the term, but it wasn't there. "What are those like?"
Honor tried to explain around her mouthfuls of food, eventually abandoning eating for a second to explain, "We go around the country in my truck and just explore, see new places and just forget about normal life to relax." When she finished she went back to eating though, leaning back in her seat once she finished, "Did you like the bacon?"
Oscar glanced down at his plate and saw that there was no bacon left on it. "Yes," he stated. "Do you think we might be able to find my home if we go on a road trip?"
"I..I don't think you're home is on this planet, but yeah, maybe we'll find your home," She answered honestly, standing up and taking both of their plates and silverware to the sink. Honor started to wash all of the pans and dishes, knowing that she still had to get ready to go after she finished washing everything.
Oscar finished reading his second book and picked up a third. "I hope so. I wish I could remember more about my home……I just remember that I didn't need a stupid body. Maybe if we find it, I can take you there too and show you around."
She smiled and nodded, "That would be pretty cool, I think I'd like that. As long as I can get back to my home here." Honor set the drying dishes next to the sink on a towel and turned back to Oscar, "Alright I have to go change quick, you might want to change too and then we can head out."
Oscar stood up, still carrying his book. "Okay. What do I do with the clothes I'm wearing? Are they all used up once you've worn them once?"
"No, you can wear them again, they just have to be washed," She explained, already walking to her room and thinking of what to wear. Most likely she would just wear something that she would wear everyday, seeing that they would probably end up stopping by her parents farm later in the day.
"Oh." Oscar was relieved–he'd grown to like his new outfit. "Good." Going to his own room, he found a mostly new set of clothes to wear and put them on, accidentally putting his shirt on backwards but otherwise doing well. He then went to the door to find his shoes and wait for Honor, pacing a bit impatiently.
Honor took a little longer, putting on mascara and brushing her teeth after she put on new clothes before finally making her way to the door and slipping on her shoes. "All set?" She asked, looking over at him and chuckling a little when she noticed the backwards shirt, "Maybe turn your shirt around before we leave though, otherwise you might get some weird looks."
Oscar sighed and awkwardly turned his shirt around, then actually glanced up at Honor and jumped. "Your eyes got bigger! I think. Why do your eyes look different around the edges?"
Her eyes widened at the comment before she realized why he thought her eyes were bigger and she laughed. "I put on mascara so I look prettier, it makes my eyelashes stand out more and in turn makes my eyes look bigger," She explained, running a finger delicately over her lashes, "My eyes are still the same size." Honor grabbed her keys and a purse that was hanging by the door before stuffing her wallet into it and her phone. Everything else was already in there. "Ready to go now?"
Oscar nodded, still clearly distracted, and followed her out the door. "How is that supposed to make you look pretty? I mean, I think I like how it looks, but why are bigger eyes better? I'm not sure I understand."
"I'm not sure why, but bigger eyes are considered more attractive by other people," She replied, locking the door behind him and sliding into her seat of her truck, "Long eyelashes are also considered attractive, don't know why for that one either." When her truck rumbled to life, she buckled in and looked over at Oscar to see if he was ready to go.
He was, having already buckled his seatbelt and closed the door. He still had his book with him, although he was more than halfway through it. "When we get back home, could I try the mascara? I want my eyes to be huge like yours."
Honor nodded and smiled, pulling out of the driveway and starting towards one of the larger towns in the area that would have a good shoe store for them to find shoes for Oscar, "Sure, remind me when we get back to my house. I'll help you put it on too so it makes your lashes as long as possible."
Oscar grinned happily. "Thank-you. I think your face looks way better than the one I have, so I want to look more like you." After a second he caught sight of the scenery ahead and got distracted once more. "Woah, what are those huge white things in the sky?" He pointed at the clouds, squinting in the bright morning light.
Oscar's comment made her blush a little and she shook her head, "My face doesn't stand a chance against most other people, you'll see." When he asked about the clouds though, she smiled, happy to have something she could explain, "Those are clouds, big gatherings of water droplets crazy high up in the sky."
"They're made of water?" Oscar seemed totally baffled by this. "Are they always there? Can we touch them if we climb up a tall hill?"
"No, you can't touch them, unless you climb a mountain and they're pretty low," She explained, shaking her head, "They're not always visible up there either, but they are always up there." Her focus drifted back to driving as she answered his questions though, making sure they stayed on the road.
Oscar stared up at the clouds in wonder for a moment longer, then noticed something else. "Hey….there's a tiny white dot up there too. It's leaving a long straight cloud behind it….what is it? Is it a bird?"
Honor smiled again, shaking her head as she tried to explain an airplane to him as best she could, "That's an airplane, an invention that flies people around the world way up in the sky." She noticed that she had started to enjoy explaining things to Oscar, it was fun to see how fascinated he was by things she thought were simple and normal.
