Diana shrugged, her cheeks a light pink as she hummed a few notes, trying to get the sound right.
Diana shrugged, her cheeks a light pink as she hummed a few notes, trying to get the sound right.
Arwen leaned closer, listening. "I should learn to play something. Then we could be a duo!"
"D'ya sing at all?" Diana raised an eyebrow, smiling. "We could duet."
"I can sorta sing when you're not making me laugh," Arwen smiled back.
Diana stuck her tongue out as she played the opening notes.
"I think I need help," Arwen began. "I'm drowning in myself."
"Did someone turn the lights out, or is it just another dark cloud in my head?" Diana's eyes drifted shut as she sang, with a slightly gravelly voice.
"'Cause I'm cut deep, my heart won't beat," Arwen sang with heart.
"Deep down low it's killing me. If I wanna scratch out yesterday, I've got so much I need to say."
She sang the next verse. "I think I need help 'Cause I'm drowning in myself. It's sinking in, I can't pretend that I ain't been through hell. I think I need help. I'm drowning in myself
"They're preying on my weakness, believe it. I'm thinking to myself "No not again". And I won't keep listening, when temptation's creeping in." Diana sang, voice full of emotion despite herself. "If I wanna make it another day, I've got so much I need to say."
I think I need help 'Cause I'm drowning in myself It's sinking in, I can't pretend that I ain't been through hell. I think I need help, I'm drowning in myself I think I need help. 'Cause I've put myself through hell," She sang like she was the one writing the words.
"I think I need help, 'cause I'm drowning in myself. It's sinking in, I can't pretend, that I ain't been through hell." Diana looked up from the strings at Arwen, watching her. "I think I need help."
Arwen looked into Diana's eyes and smiled as she sang the last lines. "I think I need help. I think I need help."
Diana played the last few notes, and fell quiet, gazing into Arwen's eyes.
It really was like looking into a person's soul. In Diana's cornflower blue eyes she saw sorrow, joy, laughter, anger and so many other emotions, Arwen couldn't begin to explain the intensity.
"You were right, you are good." Diana said softly, the ghost of a smile on her face.
"You're better. And you play guitar. You win!" Arwen leaned over and booped the other's nose.
Diana's cheeks darkened, but she raised an eyebrow. "Win what, exactly?"
"The prize is your choice. What would you like?" Arwen asked with a smile, still elated from their duet.
"I can think of a few things~" She said, smirking. She was mostly kidding. Mostly.
"Oh yeah? Like what?" Arwen teased. Did she really want to know? The answer was yes, she did.
Diana set her guitar to the side, leaning close. Her eyes sparkled mischievously. "How 'bout…a kiss?"
"Well, I can't deny the winner of her prize, and I can't say I would mind," Arwen leaned in towards the other.
Diana's eyes widened a fraction, and she had definitely not expected that.
