He moved back towards the door. "Would you like me to leave?"
He moved back towards the door. "Would you like me to leave?"
"Oh, no you're fine." She said quickly. "I'm just… not the most social."
"Is fine. Don't worry about it." He replied, shaking his head. "I can be leaving, if it would make you more comfortable."
"I…I don't want to get you in trouble with him for leaving me unsupervised." She admitted, a little awkwardly. "He seems a little… quick to anger."
"As long as I'm outside the door, it will be fine." He replied. "So long as you don't go out the window."
"If you're sure." She said, giving him a slight nod. "I won't go out the window."
He inclined his head, and ducked out the door, closing it softly behind him. He settled in just beside it, leaning his shoulders against the wall and closing his eyes.
She smoothed her skirt, sitting down in a chair that was in the corner, running a hand through her hair. She sighed softly, looking out the window. It was sunny out, and escaping out there was tempting, but she didn't want punishment-for her or anyone else.
He sighed faintly, opening his eyes and straightening. He was used to standing for hours, and this would be no different. He knew it wouldn't.
Alcesta bit down on her lip. It wouldn't hurt to just open the window, would it? She had already had agreed not to try to escape through it, they didn't say it couldn't be open.
Valentin began to hum very quietly to himself as he stood guard, waiting for someone to call upon him.
She got up, glancing back at the door before crossing to the window. She pushed it open, hopping up to sit on the window sill, leaning back against the frame. Her eyes closed, sunlight falling across her face and breeze picking up strands of her hair.
He kept humming, eventually tapping out the beat on his leg.
(Gtg now, goodnight!)
((Gn!!!))
Alcesta hummed softly to herself, relishing a little in the warmth and fresh air that came with spring.
(should we timeskip ?)
Valentin shifted a little, still wondering what, exactly, Lord Kantner wanted this girl for.
((Sure!))
Alcesta closed her eyes, half dozing on her perch in the window.
(alright. When do you think we should skip to?)
((To when Alcesta is trying to learn to control her powers?))
(alright. Would you like me to do that, or do you want to?)
((I can try it!))
(alright!)
Alcesta took a deep breath as she stepped outside, brushing a few locks of hair from her face. Her hands felt warm, and she wasn't sure if they were about to combust or if it was because she was nervous about losing control. Which, when she thought about it, did usually mean combusting.
Lord Kantner had brought them out of the town to an estate of a friend, and he, Valentin, and Alcesta would be staying there for a while, along with a few other guards. There was an outdoor stone theater ring, which was where Alcesta would be practicing.
Alcesta swallowed thickly, looking around. It was, admitted, beautiful. She was just worried about destroying things.
"You can practice here. It's all stone, so your fire shouldn't hurt it."
"Thank you." She said quietly, squeezing her hands.
Lord Kantner backed off to a good distance, though Valentin stayed closer.
Alcesta bit down on her lip, trying to focus as she let her hands catch, trying to keep it contained to just there.
Valentin watched quietly. His own abilities were far less visible, more understated than her more obvious ones.
The flames started dancing up her arms. She hissed in annoyance, trying to will them to go back down.
