Lucas eventually lay down as well, staring at the dark sky. He'd slept outside a lot when he still lived with his dad because he'd get locked out.

Skye hummed quietly, before getting up and pacing around the clearing a few times.
"What are you doing?" Lucas asked, following Skye's movement with his eyes. "Something wrong?"
"Just restless" said Skye softly, "This is probably just one of those nights where I can't sit still."
"Mm… I'm afraid I can't relate. I'm perpetually exhausted."
Skye hummed, "Lucky you" he said softly, pausing inthe middle of the clearing, away from himand the flames. Finally he drew his blades, taking a fighting stance.
Lucas sat up with a start and froze, his breath hitching. He seemed to think that Skye was going to try and fight him and quickly put up a weak forcefield out of habit.
Skye looked over at him, "It's okay… I'm not going to fight, I'm just running through some techniques."
He nodded and hesitantly let down his shield, but still stayed alert. The blades were sharp, and as much as his mind wanted to cut himself with them, he'd rather not be attacked.
(We should probably come up with some sort of plot)
(AHG I thought i had replied SORRY!!)
(Also yes that is a good idea….)
(Lol no problem. Right now we're just forcing plot while we're traveling, but we can either cause an event or make them have to take a detour or something. Maybe problems with severe weather? Tornadoes, thunderstorms, hurricanes (if they're near the coast), or blizzards would likely work to cause temporary trouble, but we still need plot after that)
True…. hmmmm…. unfortunately my brain is fried from thinking in french…
(Typically my go to is just injuring my character for plot struggles, but Lucas is already a hot mess, so he doesn't need that right now (probably later though oof). Obviously we're trying to get to some city, but there are no plans of what we're doing once we get there. I sort of have an idea for that, but I'd need your opinion on it)
(shoot, I'm open to literally anything atm)
(So, what if once we got there, we sort of ended this roleplay and started another with like, a small group? Then we could be like, this adorable little group of street rats or something and we've all got something that makes society kinda shun us (ie, Skye's a wolf boy and Lucas has magic). What do you think?)
(We could do that, see how it goes.)
(Alrighty. Should we pull off some weather stuff here first? Since Skye has the wolf thing, he'd likely be able to sense severe weather before the others)
(Sure, I guess I'll start then..)
Skye hummed, taking his stance before working through the movements, moving as if he was fighting somone, though every step was controlled.
Lucas was glad that Skye was facing away from him, since that was slightly less nerve wracking. There was some rustling through the trees, but Lucas didn't think anything of it.
Skye suddenly stopped, lowering his blades as he smelled the air, "Lovely…" he murmured.
"What? Is something wrong?" Lucas glanced around warily as though expecting to see someone.
"Storm coming…" he murmured, studying the sky.
