Ethyn shrugged and scanned the streets below them. "It doesn't matter, just go! Crowley's gonna come round that corner soon and if we're here, it's shoot to kill and I'm the only one who'll survive that. Go!"
Ethyn shrugged and scanned the streets below them. "It doesn't matter, just go! Crowley's gonna come round that corner soon and if we're here, it's shoot to kill and I'm the only one who'll survive that. Go!"
Ava blinked. "I-I'll be fine," she sighed. Maybe she would, maybe she wouldn't. Katie had been six years old, but Kain was nine. He was heavier, and she knew she might tire out, her arms might give in, but it was worth it. Somehow she felt safer when he was around, even though he was only nine years old. it gave her a purpose, something to do.
(Kain is actually really light for his age)
Kain held onto Ava afraid of letting go but also afraid to be a burden
(Ah. But still, Kain's a bit heavier than Katie was, since she and Ava often skipped meals while on the streets)
(oh that is sad)
(Yes it is)
(Also I'm going to wait for Kye to reply)
(Sorry I had a Cross Country race.)
Kye nodded and started up the ladder again. Stopping on the next flight to let the others past him. On the way up he could be in the back because it was safest for the others and they didn't need him to show them the way up.
(thats cool)
Kain closed his eyes and thought of one single flower. It was a beautiful blue-ish white flower he couldn't remember the name but it had five petals that were overlapped by three others the smell was always comforting the only comfort he used to have
Ava passed Kye, seeing the opportunity and almost looked down for a second but remembered that would only induce fear and she forced her eyes to face forward.
Ethyn kept pausing to look around the streets below them. He often stared at buildings like they weren't there and he was scanning the streets on the other side.
"Ethyn, I know you're worried about us getting found," Kye spoke up from below him. "But dude, the more you stop the more time you're giving the people looking for us to find us. And I get that it is really difficult to not stop and scan the area, but you just gotta keep moving."
"Something just feels really wrong." He sighed. "If we get caught, or if they catch up and follow protocol, you're all dead. And I don't want to lose my chance at something like a family." His voice broke.
"Well, so long as we stick close enough together and keep moving we'll be fine. Remember that purpley barrier thing from earlier? That was mine. I can create literally unbreakable force fields. Anyone close enough will be protected by them. And depending on the situation I can keep them up for a long time," Kye explained. "We just need to get across town to my buddy, he's much better a handling situations like this than I am."
"You're doing pretty well so far," Ethyn assured him. "I'm just a little high strung right now."
"I have been trained to handle situations like this, but I haven't been doing it nearly as long as he has," Kye Continued up the ladder. "We'll be just fine, just keep moving."
Ethyn swallowed. "Right, yeah. Should I go at the back?"
"No, I have the shields. If they do come around and start firing, I can keep the bullets from reaching everyone," Kye explained.
"Dude, I'm literally immortal," Ethyn said, blank-faced.
"And I'm stubborn," Kye replied, giving Ethyn a light grin.
Ethyn smiled. "Yeah, you're right." Ethyn pulled himself up another flight.
"Wait wait wait," Ava paused for a bit to adjust Kain's position, and then continued. "You never mentioned you were immortal, " she told Ethyn.
"I just did." Ethyn grinned. "Yeah sorry didn't find the right time to say but yeah."
"The right time?" Ava asked. "When is there a right time to just tell someone that you basically can't die??"
"When everyone else isn't about to die, maybe?" Ethyn said.
"But you're right. I should have said something." Ethyn sighed
