"Why me?" he suddenly asked quietly, lips brushing against her skin. "Why pick me, and so suddenly as well?" His eyes drooped in contentment from her fingers in his hair.
"Why me?" he suddenly asked quietly, lips brushing against her skin. "Why pick me, and so suddenly as well?" His eyes drooped in contentment from her fingers in his hair.
She was silent for a moment before she answered. “I don’t really know,” She admitted, “The night that you care and helped me deal with Will, it was nice to see that there was someone to help and honestly, I just had a gut feeling that you we’re someone that I’d get along with really well.”
He pulled back to look at her face, eyes darting around her face as he gazed down at her. His decision to help Jynna started out as a selfish need to show some other—definitely stronger—guy up in front of a pretty girl. But then he actually felt inclined to help her just because he wanted to. She was something else, he could give her that, and they definitely got along far better than most people he met.
His lips twitched up in a soft smile. "Then thank goodness for your gut feeling," he murmured.
She matched his smile and pressed another kiss to his cheek, “Thank goodness for you and your decision to help me.”
His snorted. "It was mostly a selfish act of making me feel better about myself, but you eventually convinced me to do it for more noble reasons."
“But still, no matter why you did it, you still helped me,” She replied, her smile growing a little.
He smiled as well and pecked her nose. "And I'd do it again in a heartbeat."
She laughed lightly and felt her face flush slightly, “You’d help me, again?”
He nodded seriously. "If you were ever in trouble, I wouldn't hesitate to help you." He kissed her nose again. "Again." He kissed her cheek. "And again." He moved down to her jaw. "And again." Her neck. "And again."
Jynna smiled and kissed his forehead in return and thanks, “Let’s hope that you won’t have to help me with any situations like that ever.”
He gently cupped her face in his hands, smiling. "Let's hope not, but I still want you to know that I'll be there for you if it ever does."
“I’ll be there for you if you ever need me as well, though I might not be much help in dangerous situations,” She replied, putting one of her hands over his and letting the other stay messing with his hair.
He leaned in to brush his nose against hers, still smiling. "I wouldn't have it any other way. I'd much rather you stay as far away from danger as possible. But I won't force you to stay away."
She nodded with a smile and pressed a kiss to the bridge of his nose before resting her forehead against his, “I’m not the best with dealing with danger, as you can clearly tell, though I’m not afraid to stand by your side if you need me too.”
"That's more than I would expect from you," he murmured, his eyes brightening as he looked at her. His hands slid to her hips and he drew idle circles with his thumbs.
“A lot of people say that about me actually,” She said, a content smile appearing on her face as he drew idle circles. She looped her arms on his shoulders and just rested there against him.
"You're very surprising," he said simply, smiling up at her before he pecked her lips. "Kinda hot," he said with a mischievous smirk and wink.
She smiled and rolled her eyes, feeling her face flush. “How do you get me so flustered?” She asked somewhat jokingly, “That smirk gets me every time, and the wink is just extra.”
He smirked again at her blush. "I'm just a natural charmer," he said sweetly, then laughed slightly.
She laughed lightly and pecked his cheek, his smirk making her blush a brighter red, “Sure, we’ll go with the natural charmer option.”
He grinned at the sight of her deepening blush. "Do you have any thoughts, my dear, blushing Jynna?" he cooed. "Because it doesn't sound like you believe that I have natural charm. A bit rude, but I'll let it slide."
Again, she laughed, looking up at the ceiling to try to hide her blush, “I do think you’re a charmer, but not a natural one, I think you had to practice a lot to get this good at it.”
"Practice makes perfect," he said, neither denying nor confirming her statement. He had practiced a lot, though it was more trial and error than actual practice. He just said and did what he thought women liked, then foregone what had received negative responses.
“That it does,” She replied with a nod and another small smile. She let her gaze travel around the room as she went silent, hoping her blush was fading faster than she thought it was.
He kissed her cheek and let his hands brush up and down her waist. "But it's mostly just watching and learning," he continued, the corner of his lips curling up as he saw that her blush was fading away at a slow pace.
