"Alright." She clicked her tongue and watched the mare with a small smile, "C'mere girl, I won't hurt you." She called, watching Dani make her way towards her.
"Alright." She clicked her tongue and watched the mare with a small smile, "C'mere girl, I won't hurt you." She called, watching Dani make her way towards her.
Dani once again snorted at the group of horses, and they moved out of her way. She slowly made her way to Jynna while Rhydar went and grabbed the saddles and bridles.
Dani eventually reached Jynna and she reached out to her, patting the mare's neck to keep her calm while she waited for Rhydar to return.
Rhydar carried out two sets of saddles and bridles, then worked to saddle up Thunder. "Do you know how to do this?" he asked Jynna as he tightened and loosened some straps to fit properly.
She nodded, "I've ridden before, I know how to saddle a horse." She took one of the bridles and saddles and started working on Dani carefully so she wouldn't spook or become even more stubborn.
"Less work for me, then," he joked. He then circled around Thunder, testing the fit. Satisfied he wouldn't fall off, he headed over to Jynna and Dani to keep the mare from taking off. She just snorted at him and stomped her foot impatiently. "Calm down girl, she's working on it."
"Almost done Dani, I just have to put your bridle on." She said, picking it up and slipping it onto the mare's head. Jynna made sure the girth was tightened again before swinging into the saddle and picking up the reins.
Rhydar patted Dani's neck and headed over to Thunder, grabbing the reins and leading him towards the gate that led out to the trails. "Ladies first," he said to Jynna.
She followed him to the gate on Dani and smiled, shaking her head as she motioned for him to go, "You can go first, I don't know where I'm going, you go first." She replied.
"I need to close the gate, Princess, lest all the horses escape," he pointed out.
"Alright." She headed out of the pasture, stopping just outside and looking back to make sure Rhydar was coming along and didn't need help closing the gate.
He nudged Thunder forward and slung himself into the saddle as he closed the gate behind him. Once settled, he rode up to Jynna and smiled at her. "Ready to go?"
Jynna nodded and smiled, "Yup, lead the way Prince," She said, motionning for him to go so she could follow.
He clicked his tongue and flicked the reins, and Thunder started trotting into the woods. Rhydar followed a nearly hidden trail that he knew by heart now, looking back to make sure Jynna was keeping up.
Nudging Dani's side lightly she started after him, her gaze flicking to the woods as she took in the scenery. The woods was beautiful and she loved being able to ride again.
Rhydar also took in the scenery, even though he'd been there like a thousand times. These trails were his special place to relax and escape reality.
"This place is nice," She said, breaking the silence as they continued to ride, still admiring the woods.
Rhydar smiled idly. "Yeah. I come here to get my mind off of everything. And to escape." A deer leaped by, making Thunder snort and shake his head.
Dani spooked slightly from the deer and Jynna pulled back on the reigns slightly, keeping the mare from doing anything more dramatic than snorting and taking a step back, “I understand why you do that, I would do the same.”
Rhydar looked over to Jynna. "I also come here to get away from my siblings. They harass me to no end. It's kinda hurting my self-esteem." He flashed a crooked smile, showing that he was joking.
She laughed and nodded, “I know what you mean, I have two annoying siblings of my own,” She replied, joking about the annoying part just slightly.
"Lucky!" he whined. "I got Maggie and Kora–because she's basically family at this point–my older sister Isla who is an OCD perfectionist, and then two younger twin siblings–Cinthia and Wulfric. They're basically two peas in a pod that share a brain."
“I have an older sister, Lillian, she’s in the military. Then there’s me, followed by my younger brother Cody, who’s still in high school.” She laughed again, “Cody is the annoying one, every time I go home over break he pesters me about everything. Lil is cool, she’s less annoying.”
"Yeah, younger siblings suck," he nodded seriously, then broke out in a grin. "Though Cinthia makes up for it by being the best cook. I mean, I'd kill for some of her homemade alfredo right about now. Or her homemade chicken noodle soup."
Jynna smiled and glanced at him before looking back at the surroundings, "That sounds amazing, I have to say, Cody is a terrible cook, I probably inherited the most of my grandpa's knowledge of cooking, none of my other family members can seem to make anything. besides the basics"
