Cas murmured his thanks again and seemed to start relaxing a bit. Nix had moved to the side to sit on the couch so he wouldn't get squished.
Cas murmured his thanks again and seemed to start relaxing a bit. Nix had moved to the side to sit on the couch so he wouldn't get squished.
Halm pulled his legs up, engulfing Cas in snuggles. He glanced over at Nix, smiling a little and patting the cat's head before moving his hand back to Cas. Zia stuck her head out of Halm's collar, climbing down his sleeve and onto the couch.
Cas tucked his head under Halm's chin and smiled softly, enjoying the other's closeness. He could definitely get used to this. "Thanks for taking me in…"
"Thank you for wanting to stay," Halm replied, a soft smile in his face. They were completely cuddled against each other now, nice and toasty.
"Mm… No problem." Cas's smile grew warmer as he himself grew warmer. He really liked being warm.
Halm played with Cas's hair, eyes closing slightly. This was really nice. He let out a little hum of satisfaction.
Cas melted into Halm's touch, sighing happily. His eyes were already closed, and he was starting to drift off to sleep. He'd had a long day.
Halm waited a long time, and, thinking Cas to be asleep, kissed his forehead like the day before. Of course, he didn't realize Cas was still awake.
Cas blushed and opened his eyes sleepily, looking up at Halm with a confused expression. He cocked his head to the side a bit, but said nothing.
Halm, when he felt Cas move, looked down and blushed. Crap. He didn't say anything either.
After a bit of confused, awkward staring, Cas just shrugged and closed his eyes again. He lay his head back on Halm's chest and yawned.
Halm blinked, not sure what that meant. He waited a moment, then rested his head on Cas's and closed his eyes.
Cas fell asleep soon after. He was honestly too tired to think too deeply into Halm's actions, and figured they might as well either address it or ignore it in the morning.
Halm, when Cas fell asleep, waited much longer this time to be sure. Then, careful not to jostle Cas awake, he stood, carrying him to the bedroom.
(Timeskip?)
(Sure. Just to morning?)
(yeye. Could you?)
(Yep)
Cas woke up in the morning on Halm's chest. He glanced around the bedroom, taking in their surroundings before looking up at Halm to see if he was awake.
Halm was not, breathing deep and even. He had both of his arms around Cas, but he was stretched out on the bed.
"Halm…" Cas said softly, moving up a little to get closer to his face. "Are you awake?" He whispered. He sat up on Halm's chest and gently poked the other's cheek.
Halm's eyes blinked open a little, and he looked up at Cas.
"I am now," he said with a slight smile.
"Hi." Cas stuck his tongue out a bit and lay back on Halm's chest. "Good morning."
"Good morning," Halm echoed, mostly awake by now.
"Did you sleep well?" He wasn't going to talk about what had happened the night before unless Cas brought it up.
"Mhmm." Cas had the same mindset, so he didn't really plan on bringing it up. "You?" Nix was curled up on the bed beside them, asleep.
"Very much so," Halm said with a smile. Halm sat up a little, Cas sliding down a little to his lap.
Cas got himself settled on Halm's lap and looked over at Nix. "That's good… anything we need to do today?"
