“‘M fine… Just a little sleepy. I c’n walk,” Daisy murmured, turning to bury her face in his chest. “You’re warm.”
“‘M fine… Just a little sleepy. I c’n walk,” Daisy murmured, turning to bury her face in his chest. “You’re warm.”
Arvil chuckled at her, kissing the top of her head as he walked to his car. “Yeah? I’m glad you think so,” he murmured against her hair. “You can sleep in the car, too. And I’lll take you home as well.”
Daisy sighed, slowly nodding. “Okay. I guess home is good. It’ll be warm there, too.”
Arvil held her tightly to himself as he reached for his keys in his back pocket, glad that he had a remote with his car. He unlocked it as he walked to the passenger seat, opening it before he gently lowered his wo—before he gently lowered Daisy on the seat. He buckled her seatbelt, and before he moved away, he pressed a kiss on her forehead.
And then he was on his seat, starting the car and driving off.
Daisy leaned her head against the window, curling her legs up under herself. She hummed in her sleep, a small smile on her lips.
Arvil looked at her softly before he turned his attention to the road. When he parked near her apartment, he tilted his head.
“Daisy? C’mon, love,” he murmured gently. “We’re here.”
Daisy blinked her eyes open with a soft sound slipping from her lips. She looked over at Arvil sleepily, rubbing her eyes. “What time is it?”
She’s so adorable. Arvil checked the time on his car before humming. “It’s nine,” he replied, getting out of the car to open the passenger door. “C’mon, I’ll carry you.”
“Already? It got late,” Daisy muttered, stretching before she opened the door. “I can walk myself. Thanks, though…”
Arvil rolled his eyes, ignoring her words as he slipped his hands under her knees and back again, picking her up. “Told you,” he murmured as he kicked his door shut and locked the car. “I’ll carry you.”
“Hey… Arvil,” Daisy huffed, swatting at him lightly. “Put me down. I’ll walk. Really.”
“Oh no, you ignored me earlier, didn’t you?” he grinned wickedly at her as he started to walk into her apartment building. “Consider this your punishment.”
Daisy grunted and rubbed at her face sleepily. “Fine. I’m too lazy to actually walk, anyway,” she mumbled.
“My lazy fiancée,” Arvil shook his head in amusement. “Where’re your keys?”
“In my purse. I’ll grab them,” Daisy yawned, leaning over to reach for it. She grabbed the bag, then unzipped one of the pockets and pulled her keys out.
Arvil made his way to her apartment, careful to not drop her. Once he was there, he looked at Daisy, silently telling her to unlock the door.
Daisy sighed and stretched her arm out to the door, the key just falling short of making it. “You’ve gotta get closer to the door. I can’t reach,” she said, using her free hand to cover her mouth as she yawned.
Arvil chuckled and took a step closer. “Better now, love?” he chuckled. “I didn’t think you act like a child when you’re sleepy, but you come full of surprises.”
“Yeah, yeah. I didn’t go to bed early enough last night,” Daisy muttered, sticking the key in the door and unlocking it. “Big project, worked late.”
Once the door was open, Arvil entered, keeping his eyes ahead. “Which one’s your room?”
“Down the hall, last door on the left,” Daisy yawned, turning to bury her face in his chest. “You really don’t have to do this.”
Arvil simply shrugged. “I don’t have to,” he agreed, already walking to where she said was her room. “But I want to.”
“Are you planning to dress me, too, since you seem to want to do everything for me?” Daisy muttered with her eyes closed, not realizing how that might sound.
Arvil’s eyes shot back to hers, wide with surprise. Did she seriously—you know, if she was like that every time she was sleepy, he wouldn’t mind. At all.
“If you’d like,” he responded with a purr. “I’d be happy to.”
When Daisy heard the tone of Arvil’s voice, she was confused for a second. She opened her eyes to peer at him, trying to figure out why he responded that way. When she finally did, her eyes widened as red rushed to her cheeks.
“That— that’s not what I meant!” she stuttered, trying to wriggle our of his arms.
