“I hate cinnamon,” Arvil scrunched his nose. “It’s disgusting. My mother used to put it in tea every time.”

Deleted user

“Please don’t,” Arvil made a disgusted face. “I don’t know. I just don’t like it. It tastes horrible and I feel suffocated every time I smell it. Why do people even like it? I’m so glad you don’t smell of cinnamon.”

“I still don’t understand how you don’t like it, but whatever,” Daisy chuckled, taking another bite of her ice cream. “I’ll stick to fruity gum from now on, then. What’s your favorite gum flavor?”

Deleted user

“Just—you won’t understand it,” Arvil shook his head dramatically. “Hm… I like the orange flavored trident. Mint gums, grape flavor… anything that isn’t cinnamon.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“I don’t like artificial grape flavor, but I do like grapes. My actual favorite gum is he raspberry Ice Breaker gum cubes. Those are the best,” Daisy declared, nodding.

“Truthfully, I’m not a big fan of raspberries, either,” Arvil admitted. “I can eat them, but I’m not a fan. But I might not mind them if I taste then on you.” That, he said with a wink.

Daisy spluttered a little around her mouthful of ice cream, swallowing it before coughing a couple of times. She shot him a glare, red-cheeks both from coughing and being flustered.

Arvil. You couldn’t have waited until I didn’t have anything in my mouth?” she huffed, pursing her lips at him.

Arvil burst out laughing, throwing his head back and bumping his shoulder with hers. She was so amusing. He absolutely loved flirting with her and getting those reactions.

“My bad,” he snickered. “Is it my fault the best opportunities come at the worst of timings?”

Daisy huffed and pulled one of her legs up to her chest, turning to face away from him. “I’m ignoring you now, thanks,” she declared, shoving another spoonful of ice cream into her mouth.

“Aw, Daisy,” Arvil laughed, setting his ice cream to the side to wrap his arms around her. He nuzzled the side of her head, the smile still on his features. “I’m sorry. Don’t ignore me. You know I’m a puppy and puppies die when they’re ignored.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Daisy blushed a little but continued to ignore him. She ha said she would, and now she wanted to see how long she would last. It really wasn’t because she was upset with him at all, she just wanted to be able to eat her ice cream, and she couldn’t do that when he made suggestive remarks.

Arvil loosed his arms around her before he pulled back, heaving a sigh.

“All right,” he grabbed his spoon and leaned back on the bench. “Eat your ice cream in peace, darling.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

He wasn’t even going to try? That was it? Daisy had thought that he would at least try a little harder… Oh well. At least she could eat now. Even if she did sort of want him to try harder.

“Hey, what was your ice cream flavor again?” Arvil quirked an eyebrow as he looked at her. “Birthday cake ice cream? How is it?”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Daisy blinked. He was asking her questions now, huh? So that’s how it would be. Not silence, but continuing like she wasn’t ignoring him. She could do this…

“How does it taste?” Arvil questioned, looking at her, continuing as if she wasn’t ignoring him. “Can I have a taste?”

Deleted user

“You won’t even share your ice cream,” Arvil sighed, defeated. “You’ve certainly grown into a jerk, Daisy. You never refused before.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

When have we gotten ice cream together before, dear Arvil? Although, I suppose I couldn’t have ever refused if I never had the chance, now could I? So I guess you’re right, then.

Arvil huffed, taking a bite out of his own ice cream. He didn’t say anything, simply sat in silence with her.

(They’ve had ice cream before, I think… unless I’ve mixed up Wage and Arvaisy…)

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Daisy finally leaned over and rested her head on Avril’s shoulder, finishing the last bite of ice cream. She closed her eyes, content to just sit there with him. If he found it strange that she was doing this willingly, she didn’t really care. She just wanted to. Plus, he was comfortable, and sitting in the theater had made her tired.

When Arvil felt the weight on his shoulder, he was surprised. He looked at Daisy, blinking. Of course it would come as a shock to him. He was the one who had always initiated those contacts. The subtle touches, the hand-holding, the hugs, the kisses—it was him. And even though this wasn’t as big as a kiss, it was still there. She’d still taken that step.

Quietly, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders, rubbing her arm gently, his own head resting against hers. He did not say a word.

Daisy let her eyes drift shut, his warmth lulling her into a sleepy haze. She yawned, covering her mouth with the back of her hand. Maybe she shouldn’t have stayed up so late to finish that article last night…

Arvil had begun to run his fingers through her hair, his mouth pressing to the top of her head briefly. She was so adorable, wasn’t she? Arvil quickly finished the last of his cone and wiped his mouth. He pressed one arm against her back while the other under her knees.

He picked her up bridal style, holding her close.

“C’mon, sleepyhead,” he kissed her forehead. “Let’s get you home.”
