"No," he said, not looking at her, setting his cup down on the nightstand and grabbing the remote to the TV in his room.
"No," he said, not looking at her, setting his cup down on the nightstand and grabbing the remote to the TV in his room.
Alexa leaned against the doorframe sipping on her water. She hummed a little, "Okay. Just being a concerned person."
He snorted, ever so slightly, and started to close the door.
Alexa rolled her eyes and walked away back towards the sofa. She could relax for a minute or maybe see if she could find any online information on her persona.
He watched something - he had no idea what - and stared at the wall, as well, half dead on his feet. He was tired, and needed to go to bed, but he didn't feel like it.
Alexa yawned and checked the time. It was late, she had had a long day, and was jet-lagged. She almost went to check on Arsen but figured he could take care of himself and went into her own room to sleep. She closed the door behind her and started to change into pajamas.
He sighed, closing his eyes, leaning back on his crossed arms. He wouldn't fall asleep, no, just rest his eyes for a moment…
Alexa laid back on the bed and grabbed her earbuds. She put them in and started playing music off of her mp3 player. She fell asleep listening to her music.
(…Now what?)
(Uhhh skip? Maybe to when they're forced to actually talk out a plan or something?)
(Okay! Sorry I didn't respond right away!)
A few days later, Arsen pulled up in the rental car and parked it in the hotel parking lot, before grabbing his stuff from the car and hurrying in. When he unlocked the door, he looked for his partner. He didn't look it, but he was feeling very agitated.
Latin music could be heard coming from Alexa's room. She had figured Arsen would be a while and she needed to relax after being high strung the last few days. She was dancing and singing along unaware her partner had returned.
(It's fine! I understand breaks.)
(Thanks lol. I feel so bad…)
He heard the music and scowled. He really didn't want to see her, but he needed to talk to her about the plans. He paused with his hand on her door, about to knock, then paused. He needed sleep, if he was to get through this without blowing up.
Alexa shut the music off and swiped a hand through her hair. She was still unacustomed to seeing it black rather than its normal colors. She opened up the door to see Arsen standing there, "Oh, hey. How long have you been back?"
"Long enough," he muttered, then tried to act slightly civil. "We need to talk about our plans for the party soon."
"We do," Alexa nodded in agreement. She moved to out of his way seeing that he also was trying to remain civil, "Does now work or do you need to cool off a bit?,
"I… it doesn't matter."
"Okay," Alexa was careful as she exited the room and shut the door behind her, "Then let's talk."
He sat down on the couch, and crossed his arms slightly. "So, do you still have the assignment sheet?"
"Yeah," Alexa nodded walking back into her room before reappearing with the file, "We've both read it through, right?"
"Yeah." He ran his hand through his hair. "So, what do we know so far about the people we are playing?"
"We're married, I'm a spokesperson and your my body guard. What else is there?" Alexa asked him with a little shrug running through the file once more.
Clenching his fists, trying not to snap at her, he said in a very controlled voice, "Yes, but at the party, there will be people who own companies, who will know everything about the company we're supposed to be working for. They will have done research on us, and if we slip up, make one tiny mistake, our entire cover is blown."
"I'm aware and I've been doing my research," Alexa calmly replied. She could tell he was about to blow and did not want to be the target of his anger yet again, "I was just summarising the basics of the report."
"Sure," he muttered. "But does it say anything else on the report? Like why we were sent, instead of someone else?"
