"Hm." He took out a dagger and started playing around with it a little, seeming like he was unaware how dangerous it was to just play with it. "As it seems, you are amused aren't you? Well, I think besides the fact it does bewilder most of the men here as to how you can be so stubborn, I think it may be your personality that's so admirable."
She glanced in his direction as she kept walking, “My personality? What about it?” It really did make her curious of why her personality would be admired. She had only ever been told that she wasn’t like other girls, that she was too cold and unforgiving.
"Ah seems she is interested now isn't she?" Jerome had asked more to himself than anything. In fact, it wasn't quite expected on his line of the conversation that she would have been interested. It was like that with most of the woman he talked to anyways. "I think it might be on the fact of how you don't give up, keep going when even in the long run it shows you might not succeed."
"She is interested," Reva replied, "I didn't know my determination to win pointless battles was an admired trait." Her eyes wandered around the ship before she focused on Jerome, taking the time alone to study him and take note of the features she hadn't noticed before, his green eyes becoming that much more interesting.
Jerome noticed her wandering eyes partake in studying his own. He brushed his hair away from his face which seemed to be pointless when it fell back in front of his eyes. It wasn't as bothersome to him as much as it seemed anyways, his eyes were always a self conscious trait of his. "Its admirable pointless or not."
She shrugged half heartedly as she went back to her pacing, looking away from his eyes before she felt it got awkward, "I'll take your word for it. I don't see what's admirable but if you do, then maybe it is."
"We all have our different views on things, but I guess that is something that I find admirable in a way." He said softly with a sigh. Out of habit he randomly started messing with his small dagger again earning a good cut to his hand.
Reva just nodded in response, her attention already back out on the sea as she looked around for ships or land or anything else besides the endless blue. “So, captain, what else is there to do on this ship besides the work the crew is doing? I’m thoroughly bored of pacing.”
Jerome chuckled quietly at her response. Being bored on the ship was not an abnormal thing to occur. “Thats a good question, I guess it depends on what you wanna do. You aren't exactly limited from anything amongst the ship, except for killing and blowing things up at least.“
"Well then I'm back to square one, I was looking to kill someone," She joked, rolling her eyes, "What is there for books on this ship? reading even sounds like more fun at this point."
(Sorry it's been a while! I've been preparing for my trip overseas and it's been hectic! Also, sad to admit, tomorrow is going to be my last day, on notebook, at least for the summer!)
He rolled his eyes and slightly smiled at her. "Well, for books we have all sorts of kinds. Whenever my father pillaged other ships, among the many treasures he took, books were along with it. There are many in my quarters at least."
(Awwww, alright! I hope you have a great summer and trip!!!)
Reva looked over at him and shrugged, "Guess I'll go read then. Bother me if you need anything." She glanced at him one last time before turning on her heel and walking towards his quarters.
(Helloo im backk if this is even still going on lol)
(Yay!!!! You’re back :D and we can definitely continue this!)
Jerome nodded in response and glanced back out to the sea. He always found himself looking back to the sea in awe. Although, couldn't help but let his thoughts wander to Reva. That girl just sparked curiosity in him.
Reva headed into his quarters and sighed, pulling the first book he found into her hands and walking back out. There was more light on the deck to read and she took up a spot on top of a barrel near the door, starting to read about the adventures someone had made up and written down in the book. She couldn’t say it wasn’t fascinating though.
Alro had quietly snuck up towards Jerome and had nudged him. "You seem to be distracted today especially cap, what is it? He had asked in a hushed but soft tone. "Oh it's nothing lad, I just think that it will definitely be a intriguing experience for when we dock on land, as you can see." Jerome motioned to Reva ever so careful she wouldn't notice. "Ah, I see."
She crisscrossed her legs and positioned her elbows on her knees, the book resting on her legs while her fingers slowly flipped the pages. It was a good tale, with plenty of adventure to keep her mind busy, unlike the books she was forced to read to learn. Her eyes never left the pages and any voices on the ship were just background noise for her reading. Jerome was the least of her worries as well and she didn’t even glance in his direction once.
To Jerome, Reva looked out of place compared to the other crewmates aboard the ship. Unlike the other pirates, she would rather read when bored than party and drink all night. It wasn't something he was used to seeing, it was different to say the least. He looked away back to the sea and Alro raised an eyebrow towards him with a look of curiosity.
Even though she liked the story, sitting in ole place for old after a while and she shifted about, taking advantage of how close the barrel was to the wall. With only a few glances, she had flipped onto her back and kicked her legs up agains the wall, laying upside down and reading as well. It may have looked uncomfortable to anyone who glanced over, but it was actually strangely comfy, her back arching over the rim of the barrel so it didn’t dig into her back.
Boredom soon crept up to Jerome and he sat down leaning against a mast closing his eyes. Taking in the quiet sea noises and the every once in a while yells from another crewmate, he was soon asleep. No one bothered with him and kept on with whatever their own business was. Alro simply sat across from him just sitting there, not knowing what to do with his boredom.
Reva decided after a few more minutes of reading to be done for the day, closing the book with a snap after marking the page. She looked around from her perch upside down before sitting up right, once again bored and with nothing to do.
Wanting to just about anything out of boredom, Alro jumped up and starting pacing around the deck. He hoped they would be somehow docking sooner than when Jerome told him they would be. Picking up one of the cutlasses that were around the deck, he started swinging it around, making sure no one walked near him.
She scanned the deck for anything to do, eyes drifting up to the crow’s nest and maybe climbing it before she noticed Alro. A smile tugged at her lips and she hopped off the barrel, making her way towards him and calling out, “You up for a little sparing? I’ll go easy on you.” Her hand rested on her sword at her side, waiting for his response patiently.
