“Mhm..” Wilhelm noticed the dark circles under Connor’s eyes, but said nothing. One night with them wasn’t really a concern, after all. “I don’t think I’ve eaten breakfast here in.. what, a couple months, at least.”
“Mhm..” Wilhelm noticed the dark circles under Connor’s eyes, but said nothing. One night with them wasn’t really a concern, after all. “I don’t think I’ve eaten breakfast here in.. what, a couple months, at least.”
Connor raised his eyebrows a little bit. "Hm. Ah'm no' sure tha's a good idea, Will." He said slowly, looking at the German boy.
“What do you mean?” Wilhelm tilted his head. “If you’re worried about me not eating enough, I’m fine. It’s just that eating in the morning makes me nauseated.” He shrugged, rubbing his face.
"Oh right. Yeh told me yesterday, ah think." He replied with a quick smile, heading towards the dining room with Wilhelm.
“Yeah, maybe. I don’t really remember, if I’m being honest.” Wilhelm laughed quietly, walking into the dining room.
Connor stayed near him, eyes flickering around the room carefully. He took a deep breath, putting his hands in his pockets.
Wilhelm sat at their normal table. He and Connor were the first ones there, like usual, although he wasn’t exactly sure that Romeo or Claude would be there that morning. “Should I go ahead and check my mail now, or should I wait until after classes, do you think?”
Connor shrugged a little bit. "Tha's yer decision." he replied. He got up and grabbed some tea and a little food, blowing on the tea to try and cool it off.
“..I think I’ll just wait.” Wilhelm sat back in his seat, picking at his knuckles until they were red.
"Okay." he frowned a little when he saw what Wilhelm was doing. He reached out and gently put a hand over Wilhelm's knuckles. "Yeh should nae do tha'." he said.
“Sorry, sorry. It’s a force of habit.” Wilhelm shook out his hand, sighing just a bit. “I’ll try not to, yeah?”
Connor nodded, pulling his hand back. "It's fine. An' yeah, try no' to." he sighed softly.
Wilhelm straightened his posture, eyes sweeping the room. “You have anything big going on today? Classes-wise, I mean?”
Connor shrugged. "Ah dinnae know." He replied slowly. He took a cautious sip of tea. "Ah guess ah'll see."
“I guess so.” Wilhelm yawned, leaning on his elbows. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with his hands- normally he’d pick at his knuckles or nails, but that seemed to be off the table at the moment.
Connor looked over at him for a moment, studying him, then looked away again quickly. He's handsome…but I shouldn't. Not so soon after Jamie.
Wilhelm dug in his bag a bit, pulling out a pen and piece of paper and jotting a few things down. He shoved it back into his bag after a moment of reading the things over. The paper was already full of random notes and doodles accumulated over time, and it was a miracle he could still find space to write. Wilhelm ruffled his curls, looking outside the large windows facing the school’s courtyard.
Connor took another sip of his tea, thinking of the day before and everything that had happened. The fight, the letter.
“I feel like I should drop it, but I don’t think I can apologize enough for what happened yesterday.” Wilhelm gritted his teeth, thinking about the fight. “It was.. improper and childish.”
Connor looked up. "Oh. No, it's fine." He replied slowly. "Besides, it's no' yer fault." He blamed the fight on Romeo, though he wasn't going to say that just now.
“Ha, well. It certainly could be seen as my fault, I suppose.” Wilhelm shrugged, rubbing his eyes. “But I’ll let go of the subject the best that I can.”
Connor shrugged. "Ah dinnae know th' whole story, bu' Romeo was th' first ta throw a punch." he replied slowly, not looking at Wilhelm.
“I wouldn’t expect more of a story than that. It’s just how things are now.” Wilhelm averted his eyes. “I’m trying to patch the rift, though.”
"Yeah…" Connor's eyes flickered slightly, and he glanced at Wilhelm. "Ah didn't mean to insinuate tha' ah Wanted to hear the story! Ah'm no' tryin' ta be nosy." he added quickly.
“Oh- well, that’s definitely better. There’s not even a story to tell.” Wilhelm laughed, still leaning on his elbows.
