Connor wandered the hallways for a little bit, before eventually returning to the dorms. He came in quietly, closing the door and flopping down on his bed, staring at the ceiling for a long moment.
Wilhelm glanced over at Connor for a moment, although he stayed quiet. He assumed it would be better for him not to say much.
Connor let out a breath. He pulled out the letter again, pulling out the small box from under the bed and putting the letter inside.
“It’s like clockwork, you know.” Wilhelm sat up slightly, beckoning to the door. “Everybody comes in at the same time every day. It’s odd, I think, especially because classes concluded hours ago.” He shrugged, glancing at his watch again. “Oh. No, wait, I just realized why that is. It’s because around this time, the cafeteria and the library kick everyone out for the day.” Wilhelm bit his tongue, realizing now that statement had come entirely out of left field, and probably made Connor somewhat uncomfortable. “Yeah.”
Connor jumped a little bit, turning to look at Wilhelm. "Oh. Ah see." he replied slowly. He closed the box, setting it back under his bed. He sat on his bed, chewing on his lower lip a little bit.
“Sorry, sorry- I realize that was unprecedented and a bit uncalled for.” Wilhelm picked at his nails for a moment before running his fingers through his hair again, trying to fix it.
"It's fine." Connor replied with a faint smile. "Uhm…" he needed to distract himself. He looked over at the desk, at the desktop easel on top of it.
Wilhelm, seemingly not impressed with the job he was doing on his hair, stood up, going to preen in front on the window where he could see his reflection.
Connor's eyes flicked to Wilhelm, and he smiled a bit at the sight. He swallowed. "Ah want ta paint yer eyes now." he announced.
Wilhelm jumped a bit at the sudden declaration. “What? Oh. Alright, sure.” He turned around to face Connor, blinking. “How’s this going to happen..?”
Connor blinked. "Ah mean…if yer alright wi' tha'." he added. "Bu' ah'd have ta sketch out yer face, then paint it. It'd take a while."
“No, I am!” Wilhelm put up his hands slightly. “I’m just making sure I don’t have to sit still for 10 hours, because I can’t.” He laughed, sitting back down on the edge of his bed. “I’m okay with that, though, if you’re sure you want to.”
Connor nodded, and grabbed the easel and a canvas, setting it up carefully. "Mm, alright." he replied with a smile. "Good."
“What do you want me to do now? Just kind of sit still?” Wilhelm fidgeted a bit, hands folded in his lap.
"Uhh…yeah." Connor replied, getting his pencil and sharpening it, then beginning to sketch. "Yeh can move around fer a bit, just no' once ah actually start paintin'."
“Alright, alright.” Wilhelm tried his best to sit still anyways. A rather difficult task, evidently. He wasn’t quite sure what to do, but it was clear that he was somewhat of a natural model. Subconsciously he tilted his head a tiny bit, although that just could’ve been his way of breaking up his seemingly eternal spells of stillness (not quite stillness, his hands couldn’t seem to rest in one place for longer than a minute at a time).
Connor sketched out the faint lines of Wilhelm's features, his tongue poking out between his lips just a little as he worked. He was doing this half to distract himself, half because he really did want to.
Wilhelm couldn’t help but smile a little upon seeing Connor work. He fluffed up his curls a bit with his fingers.
Connor glanced up at Wilhelm from time to time as he worked, the sketch taking shape beneath Connor's fingers. When he finished the sketch, he started getting out his paints. "If you need to get up and move, or use the bathroom or anything, do it now." he instructed.
“I think I should be okay.” Wilhelm ran his fingers through his hair quickly, taking a moment to adjust his posture into something he could do without moving in.
"Alright." Connor replied. He got his paints set up, and glanced over at Wilhelm for a moment, and got comfortable in his seat. "Can I start paintin' now?"
“Yeah, you can.” He nodded, glancing around the room for a moment.
Connor nodded, and dipped his brush into the water, and began to paint the base coat for Wilhelm's face, light touches of peach and pink and just the barest touch of brown, swirled with water to make a skin tone.
Wilhelm bit his tongue, trying to suppress his normal fidgeting. He watched Connor work, head still cocked like a small puppy’s.
Connor kept working, glancing over at Wilhelm as he worked. His tongue was still caught between his lips, poking out just a little bit.
