Connor shrugged one shoulder. "We've been…together…for aboot a year, so…" he bit his lip slightly, fidgeting for a moment.
Connor shrugged one shoulder. "We've been…together…for aboot a year, so…" he bit his lip slightly, fidgeting for a moment.
"See what I mean? Don't worry yourself about it." Wilhelm watched Bonnie leap down from Connor's seat, toddling to the fireplace. The little dog curled up in front of the hearth, her ears twitching every so often. The boy stood up, going to sit on the floor with the Yorkie.
Connor watched them for a moment, a faint smile flashing over his face. He's adorable…nononono, NO. JAMIE. He sighed softly, flipping through his sketchbook for a bit, trying to distract himself.
Wilhelm was quiet again, petting Bonnie's belly. He had found her "spot", as it were, and her hind legs kicked as he pet her.
Connor paused for a moment on the drawing of Jamie that he had done, fingers brushing lightly over the page.
"How'd you get so cute, huh?" Wilhelm cooed quietly at the Yorkie, who was falling asleep. He let his hands fall still, leaning back and resting his head and neck on the coffee table behind him.
Connor glanced up at Wilhelm. "Ah'll be back." he said, setting the sketchbook in his bag and heading out of the room. He wasn't a patient person; he was checking the mail now, to see if there was anything. He doubted there would be.
"Uh- alright." Wilhelm looked confused for a moment or two, but it quickly melted away.
(gonna break Connor's heart and make him single too lmao. Also i gtg to bed now, so good night!)
Connor went to the front office, and checked to see if there was any mail for him. He took the letter, a little confused as to how there could already be mail for him.
(oh no. goodnight!!)
Wilhelm picked up his book, beginning to read as he waited for Connor to get back.
Connor examined it. Oh, it's from Jamie! He headed back to the common room and sitting down in his seat. He was smiling. He opened up the letter, and as he read, that smile vanished, replaced by confusion and a frown.
Wilhelm glanced over, setting his book down. He didn’t straighten his posture- the boy elected to stay with his head resting on the table. His eyebrows knotted slightly as he noticed Connor’s shift in expression. “Did something happen?”
Connor grimaced, the letter crinkling in his hands. "Foocking coont didnae hae th' balls ta tell me in person." He clenched his jaw, rubbing a hand over his face. "Th' foocking lettah was sen' a week agoo. Ah saw heem a week agoo, but he didnae tell me thaen." He closed his eyes for a moment. Over a year, and this is how it ends?
“Woah, what?” Wilhelm sat up, head tilted. “What happened?” He had an idea, but he didn’t want to assume anything for his own without being told. “I’m not trying to pry, but..”
Connor shook his head. "Jamie's done wi' me." He replied slowly. "A year, an' he didnae have th' balls to just tell me."
“What a prick!” Wilhelm stood up, going to sit in the chair closest to Connor. “That’s awful, Connor. I’m sorry, that’s such a gross thing to do.”
Connor folded the letter up and stuck it back in the envelope with precise, careful, angry movements. He shrugged a little. "Ah knew it were comin', but ah thought he'd have th' balls to tell me."
Wilhelm shrugged, grimacing. “Some people are just too cowardly for that.” He ruffled his hair, glancing at the envelope. “God, the nerve of some people.”
Connor shrugged again, placing the envelope in his bag. "Tha's wha' ah get for lovin' a workin' class boy, ah guess." He replied.
“It happens to the best of us. If you don’t get taught etiquette, you won’t have any.” Wilhelm snorted, knowing Connor’s situation all too well.
Connor shrugged slightly. He had his eyes closed still, rubbing his forehead with a hand. He wanted to cry. He wanted to scream and throw a tantrum.
Wilhelm frowned. “Hey.. it’s alright to show emotions from this, you know. Ones other than anger. I can tell you’re upset.” He didn’t know how else to phrase it, really, but he did his best to fumble through his words.
Connor shook his head a little bit. "I…" He didn't know what to say. Or do. Or… anything, really. He knew what he wanted to do, but that was quite different from what he should do.
Wilhelm bit the inside of his cheek. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that. It’s not my business.” He looked away, eyes trailing to the large windows outside.
"It's okay. Yeh we're just tryin' ta help." Connor replied softly. He leaned back in the seat, letting out a slow breath. "Ah just…ah don't know."
