ARCHER: Oui. Does 3 sound good?

Addie nodded before realizing that he could not, in fact, see her. “Wow, Addie,” she mumbled to herself. “Great job.”

ADDIE: Sounds great! See you then!

She sat down at a table to wait.

There was a single red rose in a vase on the table.

(Lol. Your characters are the best. I'd totally want to befriend them irl.

ARCHER: Sounds good! I'll be there in about an hour. Don't flake on me, now.

He chuckled at himself as he sent the text. "Don't flake on me"? What was he thinking?

Addie laughed quietly to herself, setting down her coffee.

ADDIE: Nice try, but I am the opposite of pretty. You, on the other hand… :P

Archer smirked and leaned against the backboard of his bed.

ARCHER: You are quite beautiful, actually. And I am most certainly not pretty.

ADDIE: Handsome, then. I thought guys loved to be complimented. ;)

ARCHER: That's much better. And who says I don't? I am just opposed to being called "pretty."

Addie nearly choked on her coffee.

ADDIE: Good to know.

Archer smiled. He was already liking this girl.

ARCHER: So, what kinds of things do you like to do?

Addie thought for a moment before replying.

ADDIE: Reading, mostly. But traveling isn’t too bad 😉, and I do one softball season per year. You?

ARCHER: Softball? Interesting. As for me, I also enjoy reading. I like to volunteer at the animal sanctuary on the weekends.

ADDIE: Aww, that’s so sweet! And, slightly off topic, what’s your favorite book?

Archer bit his lip as he thought.

ARCHER: Probably any Sherlock Holmes story. You?

Addie twirled a strand of hair in two fingers.

ADDIE: Oh, that’s hard. I really don’t know… “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” was good… but so was “The Scarlet Letter”…. and pretty much anything by John Green…. yeah, I have no idea.

Archer chuckled as he read over Addie's text.

ARCHER: I haven't read anything by John Green, but there's been a lot of hype about it. Maybe I'll have to read something by him. Suggestions?

ADDIE: ”The Fault in our Stars” was good, but not my favorite… I really liked “Paper Towns”. One of the few where one of the main characters does not die.

(I honestly haven't ever read any JG books…)

ARCHER: Good to know. Maybe I'll check it out, then.

FIOS is slightly overrated

ADDIE: I can’t guarantee that you won’t be disappointed, but I can guarantee that I wasn’t :P
