Matt opened the front door, but only poked his head out for now. He’d wait to show her his leg for now, he supposed In a second, but it wasn’t hospitable to leave someone out in the rain. “Come in out of the rain.”
Matt opened the front door, but only poked his head out for now. He’d wait to show her his leg for now, he supposed In a second, but it wasn’t hospitable to leave someone out in the rain. “Come in out of the rain.”
She scrunched her mouth to the side "You don't like the rain, do you matt?" She reached the first porch step and looked for the railing, finding it while still looking down "Thank you for your hospitality,"
“I like the rain. Just not being in it.” He chuckled, “You’re welcome.” He opened the door further, “Okay..you can look now, I’m ready.”
He pulled her blue hair back and glanced up at the man that stood in front of her. She looked him over, at first thinking him adorably dorky and actually quite handsome. She blushed softly and dismissed the thought from her mind. Ro noticed that he was leaning heavily to one side and that a cane was near him. She stuck out her hand in greetings "A pleasure to meet you in person."
Matt smiled politely, extending his right hand to take hers, “Pleasure to finally meet you in person.” He flicked his tongue across his dry lower lip with a nervous energy. Wow, she was incredibly pretty, he thought, especially her blue hair..her eyes, her whole expression. Very charming. He became uncomfortably aware of his own brown hair in a tangled mess and his wrinkled sweatpants. But he was most aware of his left leg—or lack thereof. He’d folded his pant leg up to match the length of where it had been amputated, just below the knee.
"You know I'm going to ask, right?" She said, shaking his hand and looking him over again. You're staring…..but he's adorable, in a dorky, handsome way. She debated within her head. "Car accident?" she asked softly "you don't have to tell me. I'm just a curious soul."
Matt exhaled a breath, “Yes, it’s okay. It happened a couple years ago, I’m okay.” He held onto his cane a little tighter, “Can I get you anything..?”
Ro sighed softly and nodded "Thats good. That you're ok, not so much about the accident." She said. "No, I'm fine, thank you though."
“You’re welcome.” He nodded absently, then, “What were you saying right before I went inside?”
"oh, I was asking if yoy wrote science fiction like Starbwars or Startrek." She said, pulling off her raincoat and draping it over her arm. "Or is more futuristic?"
“More like shapeshifting and teleportation. Not so much space..” He replied, leaning back down to the couch, “What about you?”
She nodded, much prefering his genra than the typical furlturistic readings she did. "Me? Oh I make sculptures of sorts. With misilaneous objects. It's not an actual job but I find the charm in the little things people look over."
“Oh wow.” He nodded, “That’s really cool. Do you sell them?” He scooted over to give her room to sit on his couch.
"some, most I keep or give away." She said, nodding her thanks and taking a seat next to him. "You have a beautiful home."
His mouth curled into a pleasant smile, “Thank you.. believe it or not I don’t do all the cleaning.” He chuckled, “Someone comes once a week to help clean and do the landscaping.”
"well, they do a great job." She nodded and glanced around. "Any other pets besides your hamster?"
“No, not yet.” He shook his head, “I’m looking online to get a cat, though. They seem easy enough to take care of without a leg.”
She made a face and laughed "won't a cat eat poor Sam?" She asked, focusing back on Matt
“Hah! I’ll keep them away from each other,” he chuckled, “Or at least I’ll keep a spray bottle handy.”
She laughed along "you'll need two, one in each hand" she said through the laughter
“One for the hamster and the other for the cat! Sam’s bit me two times, I wonder what he’d do to a cat!” He laughed even harder.
"maybe let the cat have some fun with Sam for a little redemption." She laughed, shaking her head "not too badly injured l, are you I hope?"
“Yeah, I usually keep Sam in a cage or a ball anyway. That would be hilarious seeing the cat bat Sammy around the living room in one of those plastic things” He humored,
"new game of soccer." She said with a grin "poor Sam will be dizzy by the time he gets out of the ball. like a drink little hamster."
Matt snorted, “The poor little thing! But he honestly deserves a little torment after what he’s put me through.”
