yess, he just wanted to be loved He wrote back, shifting to lean against the fence once he threw it over again.
She laughed as she read and nodded. To love every part of him, not just the words he sang. She sighed and leaned back, throwing the note overhead
He held the now-unfolded paper in his hands, fidgeting with the edges of it in thought. Pretty relatable.. he thought about writing that, but decided against it. Instead he wrote, Its getting late and the paper’s almost full, can we continue this tomorrow? He folded the bird back up and threw it over.
She caught the paper. of course we can. I'm excited to continue this tommorow. I'll be here waiting, and remember to listen to the music of the night. She stood and threw the bird over the fence. Heading inside, she got ready for bed
He held the bird again, and when he heard her door close he spoke, “Goodnight, Ro..” and he limped back into his own house.
(Skip?)
(sure)
Ro slept through the night peacefully, dreaming of her own Phantom and how she would have much rather stay with him than go with the rich dude that only liked her cuz she was pretty. Ro woke with a stretch "good morning my demons." She muttered with a smile
Matt had been up for a while, staring sadly through the backyard window while the weather poured his hopes of having a conversation with his new friend down the sewer drain. Rain..why did it have to be rain today? Well, he could go knock on her door and introduce himself like a normal person. But no, no he was not doing that. He would only make a fool of himself.
Ro glanced out the window and giggled happily "they're getting there water today boys!" She called out to the empty house. "Now let's go and join them." She pulled on some normal clothing and a raincoat and headed outside to her lawn. "This is perfect." He muttered, letting the cool rain fall on her face and hair. The windchimes all around her house rang as a strong gust of wind came through "I can see agree too sir." She bowed deeply and sat on her porch step, glancing over at her fence, hoping to see her new friend
The fence unfortunately obscured the full view of his window, but there was a crack in the fence where if she was at the right angle, there would be a glimpse of him. Matt pulled his sweater tighter around himself, staying there for five minutes longer before he stood up with the help of his crutch .
Ro ran her hand along the fence and walked along the side, singing a soft song. "Pretty things in the winter, summer, fall not the spring~"
Matt squinted his eyes when he saw her through the cracks. What was she doing out in the rain? He went to go put in a jacket and head outside, “Hello?”
She stopped dead in her tracks "Look who decided to get wet." she called back with grin "Isn't it beautiful? the rain? such tiny worlds in one single drop of water." she mused, swiping water from the fence and balancing it on her finger
Matt smiled in return, unable to see her whole figure but mere glimpses, “I do like the rain…I just was hoping to continue our conversation from yesterday.” He held onto a piece of furniture in his porch to keep himself steady, as he had forgotten his crutch inside.
She nodded, not facing him just yet. "More ranting about Phantom or moving onto the next topic?" she asked "Because I do have a lot of more rants about other things."
“Hah…I’d love to hear you rant another thing, but..it’s hard to hear over the rain.” He had to speak up over the distant rumbling thunder.
She glanced up and smiled "why hello to you as well." She glanced over her shoulder "want me to come over? So we don't have to yell?"
“I-uh-If—If—If you want to I guess.” He wanted to see her, yes, but the thought of her seeing him—with his leg and all—made the cold rain feel like boiling water. He started shaking, whether it be from nerves or the chill he didn’t know. Did she even know about his leg? What would she think?
" you seem unsure." She noticed, " how about this, I'll walk over there slowly, keeping my eyes down. If you don't want me to see you for whatever reason, I'll keep my eyes down. When your ready tell me when to look up or simply turn back." She started walking along the fence to the sidewalk, keeping her eyes down "so what else are you interested in?"
“Okay..” He nodded slowly in agreement. He wanted to walk with her but without his crutch that would be a challenge “Um..I like writing, origami as you know from the bird.” He paused to think, “I have a hamster.”
She smiled, glancing off to hide a laugh "what do you write about?" He traced the fence and rounded the corner to his yard, keeping her eyes strictly on the ground "Whats the hamster's name?"
“Stories, one could call them science fiction. The hamster’s name is Sam.” He braced himself on the wall while he kind of scooted/hopped to go back inside and wait for her to reach his front door.
She nodded "So like star wars or star trek?" she asked, getting closer to the house and wonder how her new friend was talking to her
Now that he was inside he didn’t respond, or even hear her anymore. He peeled off his jacket, hanging it up by the back door and taking his crutch to help walk easier.
"are you still there friend?" She asked, fighting the temptation to look up
