Jackson nodded. “Your mask fell off while you were sleeping and since I wasn’t asleep yet when it fell off I saw them.” He paused before continuing. “How come you where a mask?”
Jackson nodded. “Your mask fell off while you were sleeping and since I wasn’t asleep yet when it fell off I saw them.” He paused before continuing. “How come you where a mask?”
"Unlike my sister, I'm self-conscious of my teeth." Phillips shrugged, tying his hair back again.
"Besides, I don't need them the same way she does either. I don't eat meat."
“I see. You’re sister is actually pretty nice.” He chuckled as he said that. He snapped his fingers in a rhythm that made him a bit happy.
"Oh? And how would you know that? I haven't seen you two anywhere near each other since you were discovered in the crate." Phillips didn't bother getting up yet; the sun wasn't even out quite yet; still, he could feel the morning coming.
He hesitated before responding. “I might’ve left your side last night and I might’ve went to the main deck and I might’ve been talking to your sister for half the night.” He smiled slightly. “Oh, and she knows that I ain’t a normal human.”
Phillips raised his eyebrows at what Jackson had said.
"Did anyone else see you go up?" He asked quickly. If someone had, that could be trouble.
He shook his head and a grin crept up his face. “Nope, I turned into a small rodent so I could leave.” He rubbed his hands together, now silently humming a song.
Phillips let out a sigh of relief.
"That's good to hear," he said. After a moment, he took his mask off again; it was uncomfortable, and he didn't like wearing it for long. He smiled, accidentally showing off his sharp teeth.
Jackson smiles back, not caring about his sharp teeth. He combed Phillips hair with his fingers. “You know, you look cute when you smile.”
Cheeks turning red, Phillips huffed slightly/
"I do not," he argued. in response to Jackson's fingers in his hair, he lifted his own hands up to play with Jackson's.
Jackson laughed, “Yes you do.” He looked into Phillips eyes, “You have beautiful eyes, you know.” Jackson said, continuing playing with Phillips hair.
"I. Do. Not." Still, Phillips gave a small smile, as if he had forgotten he wasn't wearing his mask. He was used to being able to make faces behind the mask without anyone seeing.
“Yes. You. Do.” Jackson giggled, which was a very rare thing he did. He smiled from ear to ear and giggled some more.
Phillips couldn't help but smile more when Jackson giggled.
"Well, then, you have an amazing laugh."
Jackson smiled from ear to ear and looked at him. “Well, thank you. I don’t laugh often so you hearing my laughter will be a rare thing.”
"Well, I'm glad I managed to draw some out of you." Phillips was happy they were getting along so well. They were going to be stuck with each other for a while, after all…
“Mhm.” Jackson climbed out of the hammock. He stretched and looked around the empty place. “Wow, everyone is gone.”
Phillips, instead of climbing down, jumped, landing gracefully next to Jackson as he put his mask back on.
"Mm. I guess they all got up for the day while we were talking." Phillips blushed slightly. Oh dear god, Allis was going to make so much fun of them if she had heard what they were saying…
"Crap."
“Yeah, I guess they did.” Jackson looked at Phillips worryingly. “What? Is something wrong?”
"No. I'm just thinking about how one of the other crewmates will probably react when we head up. God, I'm never going to hear the end of it…" Phillips shook his head, but he didn't look apprehensive; he was obviously friendly towards this other crewmate.
“Oooooh. Right, um. . maybe they won’t say nothing? Maybe they don’t even care.” Jackson tapped his chin with his finger. He was deep in thought.
Phillips snorted.
"Right. You've never met her. Though, I think you've seen her; tiny, pink hair, giant of a man as a pet?"
“I’ve seen them, though why do you care what they’ll say?” Jackson asked curiously. He passed his fingers through his hair.
"She's a close friend," Phillips said, shrugging.
"And if she heard how we were talking to each other, she'll never stop teasing me about it. Ever." Still, Phillips chuckled.
“Pfft, that’s stupid. She won’t be able to tease you forever.” He paused. “If she did find out though, I’ll probably want to see her teasing you.”
