"Okay, well that's impressive." Jemi said. Then she spoke more slowly, "I had to stay professional on my ship. They'd never take me seriously otherwise. I like this ship. I can see why you'd call it a family."
"Okay, well that's impressive." Jemi said. Then she spoke more slowly, "I had to stay professional on my ship. They'd never take me seriously otherwise. I like this ship. I can see why you'd call it a family."
Chesh smiled. She patted Jemi's head. She had almost forgotten that Jemi was a prisoner. She though on that for a bit. Jemi would have to leave. She hugged her closer. "Your other ship sounds bad." Chesh said.
"Aye." she said. "But it was mine. I worked hard to earn the role of Captain." she laughed, suddenly. "But now I'm a prisoner on this ship. But at least it's this ship rather than any other." Jemi couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. She had hoped that one day her own crew would come around, but sadly that was not the case.
Chesh shook her head as she chuckled. "I don't think I could ever be a Captain." She said. "Too much responsibilty. I'd much rather first mate. Second in command." She said.
"I'd choose you as my first mate any day." Jemi said without thinking. "We'd be unstoppable as a team. It's funny how we're technically on different sides, and yet…" Jemi rambled on for a minute before looking at Chesh.
Chesh stared back into Jemi's eyes. She had never realized how beautiful they were. She had never seen them up close. "Here we are. Cuddling." She said finishing her sentence as she pulled Jemi in tighter so that her face was only an inch or two away from her own face.
Jemi felt her heart beat faster when Chesh pulled her close. There was only so much distance between the two of them and Jemi wanted to close that distance. No. But she couldn't. They were supposed to be enemies.
Chesh felt Jemi freeze up slightly when she pulled her closer. "If your uncomfortable then I can stop." She said. Even though she wanted Jemi to be close if she didn't like it then she would stop.
"I'm not uncomfortable." she reassured Chesh. "It's just- I want-" she tried to find the right words. "We're supposed to not be friends. I thought I was supposed to hate you. But I don't." Jemi wanted Chesh. She wanted to tell her everything. "I think I like you a lot more than I should."
Chesh smiled. "I do too." She said as she stroked Jemi's hair. "I want to keep you here. With me." She said hugging Jemi. "I always did think you were cute to begin with."
(i promise im not dead)
Jemi's face grew warm. "I want you to be with me. And I don't hate it on your ship. But I don't know if I'd be able to be prisoner here forever." Jemi explained. As much as she liked Chesh, she wasn't sure that sacrificing her freedom would be worth it.
(BTW my computer is broke so I will be posting from my phone. Forgive me if my replies are slightly shorter and have grammar mistakes. Also it''s fine. I haven't been on recently either.)
Chesh thought on this. "Maybe we could get the money and then steal you back. You could become one of us." She suggested. She knew that Jemi would hate being a prisonor forever but Jack would hate it if they didn't get the ransom money.
(Okay)
"And how do you think we'd get that money?" Jemi was ready to join the crew, but she doubted she'd be satisfied. She had worked hard to be Captain but at the same time, being with Chesh would make her happy. Maybe she'd be able to let it go, eventually
"What do you mean?" She asked. She thought she had explained it clearly enough but apparently she had just confused Jemi.
(Thanks!)
(Of course!)
"Well Jake wants his money. You don't even know they'll pay the ransom, but let's say they do. Well I'm set free and maybe later on my ship again. And you "capture" me again. Wouldn't that be suspicious, at least? The council may not be the brightest but still…" Jemi said. She still doubted that they'd pay the ransom.
Chesh did think on that. "But what will it matter? We will have the money and you will be with us." She asked. "If you want you can see if some of your crew members want to come with you. You could take the entire ship if you wanted." Chesh offered.
Jemi looked at Chesh in the eyes. As much as she wanted to, she wasn't sure how to make her understand. All her life she had strived to be Captain and she would be throwing it away to join a pirate crew. It wasn't that Jemi was unhappy being in their crew, no it wasn't that. She would be with Chesh and Chesh made her undeniably happy. But despite it all, she wanted both, She wanted Chesh, but she also wanted her ship and her crew.
Chesh looked at Jemi. She understood. "I get it. Your the Captain of your ship. You can't give that up. A Captain goes down with it's ship, right?" She said.
Jemi sighed in relief. "Yeah. Exactly. I can't deny that I want to be with you, but I also can't imagine not having my ship." She fidgeted with her necklace and Chesh's hair. "I'm sorry…" she added.
Chesh sat there and though as she petted Jemi's head. "You could take your ship too. You could still be a Captain like that?" Chesh offered. She knew Jemi wanted to be a Captain, why not be a pirate Captain?
Jemi thought about it. Chesh was right. She would be a Captain. Technically. And she'd be with Chesh. So it should be a perfect compromise, but still. She still felt uneasy about it.
Just as Chesh was about to say something someone burst through the door causing Chesh to jump. "Chesh!" They yelled as a part dragon part human female stumbled in. She seemed drunk. She had bronze skin with gold scales speckled across her skin. She hair was in dreads and she was buff to say the least. She was wearing a tan sleeveless shirt and dark brown pants. "Chesh! Yooou should come drink with us!" She said as she stumbled over to their hammock. She had a bottle of rum in one hand. "Everyone's out there! Even Jake! He seems really hap-" She stopped when she saw Chesh and Jemi cuddling. "Isn't hic that the prisoner?" She said slurring her words together.
Jemi jumped slightly in Chesh's arms when the drunk female burst through the door. She looked at Chesh, unsure of what to do. "Yeah and?" she challenged. Jemi sat up and crossed her arms to seem more intimidating. It was a reflex. Then she realized that she was trying to argue with a very drunk dragon-human hybrid and sat down again.
(bump?)
(Sorry! I've been really…busy lately. I'm so sorry!)
The dragon woman stared at Jemi a bit more before turning to Chesh. "Yes. She is." Chesh said as she pulled Jemi back from trying to take on a 7 foot tall dragon woman. "So what are you doing?" She asked as she took another swig of rum.
