Chesh raised an eyebrow. "I'm a mistake? Hon, I think you deciding that you should try to down two bottles of rum was mistake. If you haven't forgotten, your on a pirate ship." Chesh pointed out.

Jemi sighed. She needed to try to stay calm, but she was too close to snapping. "I can't make mistakes and be vulnerable. I can't be around you." She left the room where she had slept. There wasn't really a place for her to go and the ship wasn't exactly big. Regardless, Jemi needed to calm down. Chesh was still a pirate. And a powerful one at that.

Chesh followed Jemi out of the room. "It's okay to be vulnerable though. If you be vulnerable, even for a little bit, it helps you become stronger." She explained as she floated next to her.

"Please, Chesh. Don't make this harder than it has to be." She remembered the words that were spoken to her so long ago. You love too easy. And that can be dangerous. She shook her head as if to shake away the memory, but it still lingered in her mind.

Chesh wrapped her arms around Jemi's waist before making them both float to the ceiling. "Sounds like you have some explaining to do." She said, holding her against the ceiling. "What's so hard?"

Jemi hesitated. Was it really worth explaining her past? Was it possible for her to move on without really dealing with it? She sighed. "It's just, I don't want to do anything I'll regret. I really like being around you, and I don't even know you that well! What happens if I actually get attached? What happens to everything I've worked towards? And," Jemi looked around for something to distract her from the truth in the words she wanted to say. "I guess you could say I've made mistakes with my personal life before," Jemi looked back at Chesh and realized there were tears burning in her eyes. Shit, I shouldn't cry in front of her. "And I really don't want to do it again."

"We all make mistakes." Chesh said as she held Jemi. "As long as you learn from them, then you don't have to worry."
"What about being with me would make you regret something? If it's because I'm pirate, then your going to have some problems on this ship.

"It's not because you're a pirate. I mean, the fact that you are isn't great but that's not it." Jemi looked at Chesh. "I like you," she said again. "I really like you but I don't know how long this will be. What's really gonna happen, because I don't know if I can stay on this ship and just leave the rest of my life behind like that. I can't know and I don't want to screw up."

"That's fine, Jemi. I understand." Chesh reassured her. "No one said you had to stay here ant longer than it take's to get the ransom. You won't screw up anything, darling. You're a completely fantastic captain that can do whatever she puts her mind to. I have no doubt about it."

Jemi gave her a nervous smile. "Thanks. I appreciate it." She added with a meaningful look. The future was scary and just when she thought she had finally figured it out, the tides changed. Her grandmother's voice echoed in her head. It's up to you, my dear. Your life has always been up to you.

Chesh smiled back at her. "Now that's the Jemi I knew!" She said when Jemi smiled. "Now is all of this because I took your necklace? I didn't intend to keep it! I was just holding onto it." She explained, realizing how sketchy it might of sounded as the words left her mouth, causing her to cringe.

The girl looked at Chesh and scoffed. "Mhmm and you had no other intentions besides trying to get to me?" she teased. I want to trust you. she repeated in her head, while looking at the other girl.

"No! It looked cool and I wanted to look at it. I was planning to give it back, but then you freaked out. If I knew it was that important than I wouldn't of taken it!" Check explained, hugging Jemi tight. "I'm sorry!"

"Oh, well, you could've just asked! I mean, even you have to admit that "borrowing" something from someone while they're asleep is at least a little suspicious!" she said, rather loudly. She bit her tongue to hold back from shouting more. Shouting gets you nowhere and you should trust her.

"I know, I know! I'm sorry." Chesh mumbled into the hug. "And technically you weren't asleep at that point, you were drunk off your ass." She commented.

Jemi was about to reply to the comment when a loud noise startled her. "What was that?"
