Abarat looked at him with both bewildered and pity-filled eyes for a split second. "Well, I could take you to my place, but uh. Only if it's okay with you, of course."
Abarat looked at him with both bewildered and pity-filled eyes for a split second. "Well, I could take you to my place, but uh. Only if it's okay with you, of course."
"Er… okay, if you want." Sound confident, dammit. Cas did his best to keep the stutter out of his voice, but he couldn't control his face trying to match his hair.
Abarat smiled at him and suddenly started walking in an entirely different direction.
Cas glanced back and tensed up a bit. "Uh… just to let you know, I think my cats might be following us…" He said quietly. There were about a dozen cats of various colors and breeds chasing after them.

Abarat turned around and saw the little army of cats. "Wh-" he was at a loss for words. "Why?"
"…I am basically their leader? All the street cats belong to me now." Cas watched the cats casually trotting after them.

"Right-" he nodded, but still a bit confused. All of the cats, huh? This guy's a bit odd. He started to walk towards his mansion house again and asked, "So what's your name?"
(Lmao)
"Hmm?" Cas glanced up. "Oh, I'm Casper. You can call me Cas, though…" Soft meowing could be heard from the cats behind them, who seemed to be concerned about Cas. "Sorry about them, by the way…"
He chuckled. "Nice to meet you, Cas." Abarat glanced over at the cats again. "It's fine, I don't mind cats."
"That's good, considering they pretty much follow me everywhere. What's your name?" Cas looked up at Abarat, laying his head on his shoulder.
"Abarat. My name is Abarat Shreid." He grinned at Cas proudly. "We're almost there."
"Alright… is the black coming into my eyes bad?" He asked weakly, his vision shifting in and out of focus again. "And the… the sparkles…?"
Abarat looked at him, concern written all over his face. He started to quicken his pace. "Don't worry. You'll be fine."
"Mmm…" Cas nodded, struggling to keep his eyes open. He figured trying to stay conscious was the best thing to do right now.
(Bump)
Abarat knew he needed to help Cas stay awake. "So, have you named your um, band of cats?"
"Yeah… there's… there's one named Petunia, who's older than I am. One of the kittens is…Nix… and…" His voice trailed off as the black threatened to fill his vision completely.
They had reached his house, and he practically kicked down the door. "Cas, I need you to stay awake for me, ok?" Abarat was visibly nervous.
Cas whined softly and forced his eyes open, trying to keep his mind busy so he'd have an easier job staying awake. "I'm… I'm trying… it's hard…" He mumbled.
Abarat set him down on a cold floor, hoping that would help him wake up a little bit. He grabbed a conveniently placed first aid kit that just happened to be nearby and said, "Okay turn around. I'm gonna patch you up…"
Cas sat up and spun around, seeming very disoriented. The back of his head was bleeding and he had several scrapes on his neck, arms, and back, but nothing was too serious. He was likely dizzy and possibly concussed from having his head slammed into the pavement.
(I'm not a nurse so I don't know how to describe doing that, can I just do a time skip and say Abarat patched him up or smtn?)
(Yep)
(Thank god)
Time skip "How do you feel?"
(No problem lol)
Cas just groaned softly, huddling against Abarat. "C-Can I pass out now…?"
