(Cool)
"Let go of me, asshole!" Cas was suddenly tackled to the ground by a guy who was probably around six feet tall, getting the wind knocked out of him. He was dazed, and the feeling of not being able to breathe was terrifying him. He struggled against the guy's hold weakly, feeling blood seep out onto the pavement from the back of his head.
Abarat was walking through the streets alone at night again. It wasn't safe, but then, it's not like anyone would try and attack someone as intimidating as him. He watched his warm breaths go into the cold air. It was crisp out, but he enjoyed it. He heard someone yell. His heroic instincts kicked in, and he started to follow the noise of the commotion. When he arrived at the source, he saw someone being pinned to the ground by some scumbag. Abarat grabbed the man by his collar and pulled him back, only to hit the bad man over the head hard enough for him to be knocked out.
Cas coughed and moved back against the wall, holding the back of his head with one hand. He still couldn't breathe properly from having the wind knocked out of him, and he was trembling with fear, though he tried his best to pretend he was still feeling confident. For whatever reason, he decided to stand up unsteadily, showing that he didn't even come to Abarat's shoulder. He glanced over at him, black creeping in at the corners of his vision.
(I've actually had the wind knocked out of me before and like, authors never seem to do it justice. That shit is scary)
(Same. I don't think that they've been in a situation like that though, to be fair)
Abarat looked at the victim and immediately became worried. Rushing towards them is a bad idea, but what if they're badly hurt? He slowly approached him and asked, "Are you alright?"
(Yeah probably not)
"I-I… uh…" Cas looked up at Abarat, his legs wobbling dangerously. His eyes shifted in and out of focus just while he was looking up. His face seemed quite pale, even for his normally pale skin tone.
(Bump)
Abarat grabbed Cas by the shoulders to stabilize him. "Do you need help?"
"…Probably.." Cas looked down at the ground. Abarat's height intimidated him a bit, and he was fully in the other's shadow.
Abarat was confused by this. Probably? He brought down his face to Cas' and tried to make eye contact with him. "Where does it hurt?"
Cas's eyes widened a bit and his heart pounded hard as Abarat leaned down to his height. "M-My…. um… my head and back…" He replied quietly, leaning back against the wall.
"How badly does it hurt?" He looked at him with concerned eyes
"…Pretty bad?" Cas's voice cracked a bit, and he was clearly nervous, but he couldn't take his eyes off of Abarat.
"Can you walk?"
Cas just shrugged, glancing down at his shaking legs before turning his eyes right back up to Abarat.
Polite as ever, he asked, "Do I have permission to pick you up and carry you?"
Cas's face flushed a bit. "I-I… um… I generally don't like being carried, b-but given the circumstances, uh… I suppose it's okay…" He stammered, mentally slapping himself.
Abarat grinned and picked him up bridal style. Walking out of the alley (idc if they were in an alley or not, just roll with it) he asked, "Do you want to go to the hospital?"
"N-No, I think any injuries I have are superficial. Not to mention, I'm broke as hell." Cas pulled up the collar(?) of his hoodie a bit to try and hide his red face. He was very light and pretty easy to carry.
"If you say so." Abarat continued walking for a little bit before he suddenly came to a stop. "Where do you want me to take you, then?"
"I dunno. Where were you planning on taking me? I don't live anywhere." Cas shrugged a bit, continuing to hide his face. His fluffy red hair fell into his eyes, which he ignored.
