Eden’s POV:
I nodded numbly, unable to say anything as he walked away.
Making my way over to a chair, I sat down, taking deep, heavy breaths. It was easier to breathe now that Sterling was gone. I could feel myself trembling. How was this even possible? All he did was say a few words and look me in the eyes.
I didn’t even stand a chance.
(Poor Steed. Lol. They’re so tortured by each other’s presence.
Should we do some Cash? I wasn’t sure what to do, do I just didn’t respond. Lol.
not it)
(Why do you assume I know??)
(Idk…
ksbdmvkdndbx
We could just do some cute dancing fluff? Not a Huntzie-like scene. Lol. That would be more of Steed’s thing. ;D)
(All right then~
And yes, but we can’t have that yet. 🤣)
Lucas’s POV:
I held out my hand for Ashley to take, bowing my hand dramatically.
“Will my beautiful lady give me the honor of her first dance?” I asked, a grin on my features as I took her in. I already knew my fiancée was beautiful, but God. She didn’t have to come looking like that. She literally stole everyone’s eyes.
Ashley’s POV:
I rolled my eyes playfully as he looked me over, even though I could feel my cheeks heating up a bit from it. With a grin to match his, I took his hand and followed him out.
“Of course. I would love to,” I answered, gently squeezing his hand.
Lucas’s POV:
I rested my hand on her waist, pulling her close until we were touching.
“You look absolutely breathtaking,” I whispered. “You’ve literally left me speechless.”
Ashley’s POV:
I grinned up at him and rested a hand on his shoulder, rubbing at it gently with my thumb. “Really? Well, thanks. I did try to impress you,” I murmured back. “And you look absolutely stunning as well. This suit looks amazing on you…”
Lucas’s POV:
We swayed gently with the music, my forehead touching hers.
“You did more than just impress me,” I said to her. “And I’m glad you think so. I need to look my part as your fiancé, don’t I?”
Ashley’s POV:
“You would look the part of you were wearing a trash bag, babe. This, though… This is something else. I think the last time I saw you in a suit was prom, and you’ve gotten hotter since then,” I mused softly, looking up into his eyes.
Lucas’s POV:
I turned pink, clearing my throat at her choice of words.
“Have I?” I resting my head on her shoulder. “I’m glad then. I have to keep up with your growing beauty.”
Ashley’s POV:
“As long as you don’t keep up with my growing belly, I think you’ll look great,” I joked, burying my face in his neck. “I love you…”
Lucas’s POV:
I chuckled.
“I love you, too, Ash…” I kissed her shoulder lightly. “I’m glad you’re mine.”
Gray’s POV:
I knew what my goal would be in this ball. Keep guys off of my woman.
“Have I told you you look like a goddess tonight?” I questioned, kissing her softly on the cheek. “Because you do.”
My pulse fluttered weakly, one of my hands reaching for his.
“If I’m a goddess, what does that make you? Compared to you—I’m drab. Plain. You’re the star of the show here, Gray.”
Gray’s POV:
I scoffed, taking her hand in mine.
“Firstly, you absolutely breathtaking,” I brought it to my lips, pressing a soft kiss on her knuckles. “Secondly, that makes me the goddess’s boyfriend. Lucky me.”
My breath caught in my throat.
Overwhelmed by a sudden wave of intense basorexia, I swallowed thickly, sliding my hand over his cheek to cup it as I brushed my thumb temptingly over his lower lip.
"I love you…" I whispered. "So much."
(Basorexia is such a weird word. Lol.)
Ashley’s POV:
I hummed in response, slightly flustered by the kiss. It was a good thing we were surrounded by people; otherwise, I wasn’t sure if we would be able to keep from giving everyone a show.
“And I’m glad that you’re mine,” I whispered back, kissing the side of his head while being careful not to get lipstick on him.
(Lol. I’ve noticed. It’s cool! I just think it’s funny how there’s a word for the intense desire to kiss someone. Lol.)
(Nothing to apologize for! I just think it’s funny.)
Gray’s POV
I snatched her hand with a growl.
“Do not do that,” I hissed, my eyes darkening with need. “Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep myself from kissing you?”
Lucas’s POV:
“After this dance…” I swallowed thickly. “Can we… find an empty spot? I don’t think I can survive without kissing you any longer than I already have.”
My eyes flew open, the hunger in his eyes spearing me straight through the heart.
Finally, I found the courage to speak, though my mouth had gone dry. "I–I'd do it again, just to make you crazy."
Gray’s POV:
I leaned back, a harsh breath escaping my mouth.
“Cruel,” I hissed. “Teasing me with what I want, but not what I can get.”
I leaned forward, craning my head up until our noses touched.
“Pretty much, yes.”
