Hunter’s POV:
I smiled at her.
“Really? I’m glad. Thank you,” I said softly. “Oh, you are? That’s wonderful. Is that your major?”

I nodded, his smile boosting my confidence a little. "It is, yeah. It was really inspirational, to see your work."
(Urgh… Sure…)
Sterling’s POV:
“Of course, babe. We can talk until you fall asleep on me. How about that?” I suggested softly, smiling down at her.
I was not prepared for my dad to walk into the kitchen at that moment. He looked at us, raised an eyebrow, and walked back out. No words. Just that odd look.
I coughed, my cheeks turning slightly pink as I stared after him.
Hunter’s POV:
I rubbed the back of my head, smiling down at her.
“Thank you, Violeta. I’m glad you enjoyed,” I said to her sincerely. “Good luck with your major. If you need any tips, you can ask me.”
(Ask Hunter, not me because I’m completely clueless. 🤣)
My eyes went round, fingers stalling where they had been picking at a loose thread on the inside cuff of my shirtsleeve.
"That's–That's very kind of you, sir. Thank you."

Eden’s POV:
My face probably resembled a tomato. My boyfriend’s father just caught us in this position. I was so relieved we weren’t… far more intimate, but that fact didn’t make it any better.
He looked at us and walked straight out. If it had been my father… things would have been a lot more embarrassing.
“Well…” I started awkwardly, my cheeks pink. “That was… um…”
My eyes went round, fingers stalling where they had been picking at a loose thread on the inside cuff of my shirtsleeve.
"That's–That's very kind of you, sir. Thank you."
Hunter’s POV:
“You’re welcome,” I chuckled lightly. “Any friend of my daughter is welcome. Are you looking forward to the masquerade ball tomorrow?”
Sterling’s POV:
“Oh my gosh… I hope he doesn’t go say something about this to the rest of them,” I groaned, leaning my head back and closing my eyes.
Unfortunately, I was right in thinking he would because…
In the other room:
“I wouldn’t go in the kitchen if I were you guys,” Cayden Ainsley chuckled.
Caroline gave her husband a look, raising her eyebrows at him. “What is that supposed to mean, dear?”
The man smirked a little and leaned back against the wall. “Let’s just say that a certain young man and woman who happen to be missing from this room are… otherwise occupied in there.”
Eden’s POV:
I cleared my throat, cheeks burning red.
“Oh, God…” I rested my head against his chest. “Should have taken you to a room… this is so embarrassing…”
(Oml Cayden 🤣)
(I meant “missing from this room”… Omw…)
(I meant “missing from this room”… Omw…)
(I figured. XD)
(I would love to see the reactions of he other parents. Lol. Oh, and the other two young couples that are there.)
Sterling’s POV:
“No… It’s probably better that we were in here. I don’t want to go too far right now because our families are here… When we get to the hotel tomorrow we can do whatever we want, okay?” I murmured, looking back down at her with a small, somewhat flustered smile.
Meanwhile…
Kenzie coughed, her cheeks glowing red at Cayden’s words. She covered her mouth to hide the small smile coming to her lips, while Willow did quite the opposite. The blonde laughed and shook her head, clearly amused.
Eden’s POV:
“Your father caught us, Ry…” I burned redder. “That was so embarrassing…”
When he smiled down at me with that flustered smile I could never put on his face, my heart hammered wildly.
“Yea—yeah, that sounds good…” I murmured, looking down.
Hunter raised an eyebrow, groaning and shaking his head.
“In the kitchen?” he muttered. “Goodness, kids these days…”
Leo, on the other hand, laughed along with his wife, amused beyond words.
“Ah, that reminds me of when I caught the other two… in their moment…”
My eyes went round, fingers stalling where they had been picking at a loose thread on the inside cuff of my shirtsleeve.
"That's–That's very kind of you, sir. Thank you."
Hunter’s POV:
“You’re welcome,” I chuckled lightly. “Any friend of my daughter is welcome. Are you looking forward to the masquerade ball tomorrow?”
"Yes, very much!" Realizing that I should probably tone it down, I cleared my throat hurriedly. "I mean, yes, very much. I've been waiting for it since the moment Eden told us."
Hunter’s POV:
“It’s nice to hear you say that,” I chuckled at her enthusiasm. “Do enjoy yourself. It will get exhausting, so make sure to get a good night’s rest.”
(Hunter… 😂)
Sterling’s POV:
“Should we go back out there now? Or wait?” I wondered.
(And Leo. Lol. I remember that, too.)
Eden’s POV:
“What if… your dad told the others?” I turned pink at even the thought. “Lord, I hope he didn’t, otherwise it would be so embarrassing…”
Hunter’s POV:
“It’s nice to hear you say that,” I chuckled at her enthusiasm. “Do enjoy yourself. It will get exhausting, so make sure to get a good night’s rest.”
"Will do," I answered, giving him a quick and shy nod.
(😂)
Sterling’s POV:
I sighed and rested my forehead against hers. “Knowing him, he probably did… I swear, he does things like this to purposely embarrass me…”
Eden’s POV:
I closed my eyes, unable to look directly into his.
“Why embarrass me as well?” I almost whined. “Why not just you? What did I do to deserve this?”
Sterling’s POV:
“I have no idea, babe… He’s cruel,” I groaned. “Evil father…”
Eden’s POV:
I sighed, finally pulling away from him.
“Let’s go…” I murmured, touching my warm cheeks.
Sterling’s POV:
I hummed a bit before cupping her cheeks in my hands and tugging her in for one last kiss. “Okay. Now we can go,” I murmured as in pulled away.
Eden's POV:
I missed his lips the second he pulled away, and I sighed softly.
"I'm really going to miss these," I whispered, reaching up to touch his lips. "Before our parents embarrass us, though, let's go."
Sterling’s POV:
“And I’m going to miss yours. But you’re right, we should go,” I agreed as I slipped my hand around hers. “Lead the way, gorgeous.”
