Caz didn't seem to mind the demon getting some alcohol if anything, he was unconcerned with that. A drink was a drink and there was really nothing to it. Though he was surprised to hear the guy order deep fried jalapeños? He didn't know how good a deep fried vegetable could taste but it was alright if the demon was enjoying himself. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Caz glances up at the dude. He clears his throat. "So." He began. "What do you think about this so far?" He questioned. "Is it fun? Is it boring? Does it make you want to jump off of a bridge?" Caz really did try to make small talk but it was killing him inside. He wasn't much of a person who could initiate conversations. He preferred to stay silent most of the time.
Zack was quietly kneading a napkin between his hands, sighing softly down at them with a small shrug.
"I just think it'd be better if it were run like the Demonic world," He commented quietly, resisting the urge to add a 'sir' on the end. And the small Demon really did wish the Human world was more like the Demons', no matter how absurd it might have been. The Demons were functional and they knew how to communicate together, while Humans hide, lie, and steal from each other. The actions of the Humans towards him and each other really disgusted the small boi in front of Caz. And the Demon seemed rather disgruntled with how Humans worked, too.
"Ah I see, so it's like that" Caz smiled a bit cruelly, it looked like it was on the border of a smirk. "You guys always seem to see the horrible ugly side of them. I don't blame you. They aren't the best things around. Even I question why the creator made them. But they aren't all bad. Take a look at some of the more decent humans. They seem to get along well with others, little to no lying, always positive and wishing everyone good." Caz's eyes flicker up at Zack who seemed busy with a napkin. "How about after we eat we go to a little place I like to call the zoo? Maybe it'll help you change your mind a bit. Maybe we'll even go to where the little ones dwell" Caz seemed pretty set on the idea now. He didn't know how risky it would be to take Zack to an amusement park- or even less an orphanage but it was worth a shot. In fact it may not do anything at all but letting Zack see how the humans could have fun and coexist with one another may change his insite on the matter.
Zack ignored the Angel's smugness and the air of his words as he elaborately agreed with Zack's thoughts, which went for a small turn to irritation. Was this Angel treating him of something as a child? Zack's long fingers flexed under the napkin and he ripped at it a little to try and bottle himself up. He mustn't get irritated with the other across him because there is no doubt Caz could be the type to kill.
"I do not care where you take me," He just answered dully instead, once Caz was done rambling. And Zack really didn't. He was used to being taken around and forced into things deep down, he didn't want to do. This Angel and getting his "protection" was one of those things. Zack just couldn't understand the Angel's motives. They confused him to the point where he just wanted to flop his head down and think about it for the rest of his living days on Earth.
(Sorry my dude, I've been really on and off with my rps cause my mom has been sick for the past three months so I gotta take care of her and do stuff around the house that she can't. So my response time might be a bit choppy because of that)
Caz narrowed his eyes. He nodded. "Alright then" he tried smiling and was silent for the rest of the time. It felt like an eternity before their food arrived. When their food did arrive Caz ate with no express on his face. Human food didn't exactly please him. He had to literally force himself to swallow the food, he would be lucky enough if he didn't throw up right then and there. Caz ate quite quickly. Like he wanted to get over with it. After he finished eating he sat there looking pale. The poor angel couldn't muster food since he hadn't ate in a really long time- years even. The whole time as he ate he had to remind himself that he was doing this for the demon. He had to establish a good connection so that things went smoothly, even in the samllest of things.
(Oh man I'm sorry if I bothered you. I just wanted to make sure you didn't forget about this. I won't bother you again. I hope your mum gets better soon!)
Zack scarfed down his food like he had never eaten in his life. Unlike the Angel, the Demon could scarf down entire Human dishes with much pleasure and still be hungry for more. He found the spiciness of the food he was eating to be enthralling and addicting to his senses; the spices reminded him of food back in Hell, where everything was warm and welcoming…. the small Demon missed Hell. He couldn't wait to go back home to his parents. Zack seemed even more disgrunted at the Angel forcing food down, and he was. He disliked the look on the Angel's pale face, and he simply wished Caz didn't order anything at all, so Zack didn't have to see the displeased expression on the other's face. The small Demon finished with a small burp into a napkin, wiping his face like a lil neat boi and setting it down, setting his hands limply into his lap.
(no no no no no! You're all good! I don't want to make you feel guilty or anything like that. I just- y'know, won't be able to respond as quickly. You may see me responding to other things but that's only because of the little time I get for a break and because I don't have to type up long responses. I like to give it my a hundred percent when I actually like the rp and it's good aha but it's all good! Just know that I never forget to respond to my rps cause I always hit the "Mark unread from here" if I've seen it already (tho sometimes it does slip me and I forget XD) but you're really all good! And thanks man, I really hope she gets better too :'))
Caz had a dull expression on his face as he watched the demon eat, he stared and analyzed. Wondering what was the best approach at getting the guy to become at least disciplined. Then there was the loud screeching in his head which made him wince slightly. The sound was shortly followed by a male voice. "Caz." Caz huffed and rolled his eyes. He stood up. "Give me a moment." He said, turning to the demon then walking out of the restaurant. "What is it?" He said firmly. "What in the living name of the lord are you doing?" The other said just as firmly. "I'm doing exactly as I was assigned. What is the problem?" There seemed to be a pause then a sigh on the other end. "Taking the demon out to eat is not what you have been assigned." "I'm trying to be friendly." He spat back, a bit of bite in his tone. "Unlike you assholes who torture your demons and threaten them with the deaths of their companions." There was a long bang on the other side like they had just slammed their hands down on something and it startled Caz a bit, making him jump. "DO NOT TAKE THAT TONE WITH ME." Caz was silent. "You are not a filthy demon to be spouting vulgar words like that. You are an angel Caz. An angel. Don't you forget it." Caz grinded his teeth, trying to keep his temper down. He wanted to punch Jasper who was on the other end of the line. "Yeah. I guess so. But I will never forget what you all did to me. Just because I'm an angel now doesn't mean that you can just erase what I was before." Caz heard Jasper exhale and could already see his face of disappointment. "We will throw you back in hell Caz. Just do your work properly." And with that, it was over. Caz had an irritated not-taking-shit look on his face at that moment. His body trembled slightly as his head repeated the part Jasper had yelled. He made his way inside to Zack. "Are you done now?" He said harshly, the nice Caz that had been there before was now gone. "If you are then let's go."
(I'm sorry if it's too long, I just wanted to get some back story in there and also to maybe probably make up for the fact that I can't respond quickly :>)
(ahhhh jeez it's so much man. You put so much soul into this and I wanna write more and try to measure up but I literally cannot what the hell. Why must I write with a minimalist way of thinking idk man.)
Zack only grunted in response. He finished as the Angel talked outside, where he nervously kneaded his napkin again. The small Demon wasn't entirely sure what he did wrong in the first place. They just called him up and said he needed to be 'therapeutitized'. Whatever that meant. The small boi was almost certain he wasn't doing anything wrong. He wasn't killing Humans (unless by Contract), he wasn't eating them, he was just allowing them to make Contracts with him and use his body. Unless this Angel's intention was to tell him stupid shit like, 'Don't let Humans use you like a doll', it was pointless. It was school in Zack's brain, and Caz might as well shoot him for it.
When Caz returned, Zack glanced up a little like a child expecting some type of punishment for doing something wrong. He shrugged a little and took out a wallet, leaving some money and a tip for their meal. He might be a Demon, but at least he wasn't rude. He stood and followed Caz out of the restaurant, his wings shivering mightily behind him. They reflected his unhappiness with the entire situation. Zack shoved his hands into his pockets to stop them from swinging nervously.
"Why don't you just kill me already?" Zack asked finally, once they were out of the thick of a crowd, speaking the first loud sentence to the Angel.
(lmao hey it's all good! I'd say that pretty hella long too my dude!)
Caz paid for the meal and noticed the demon put a tip on the table, it softened his heart again once more. He had walked a decent amount from the restaurant. His apartment was almost on the edge of the city near the forest. He suddenly stopped when he heard what Zack said. He whipped his head back at him, a horrified look on his face. "What did you say?" The question sounded dangerous but Caz was genuinely concerned. "Kill you?" He repeated, still a little surprised from the initial shock. "I would never- why would you-" Caz lips formed into a thin line as he looked away. Of course he would know. All the bad things the angels did, how they abused their power. "I won't kill you. That's not what I'm here to do. I don't know what you've heard but they're lies." The irony. Lying to cover up the truth. Since when was this the norm? He knew they were hearing so he couldn't just say what he thought. "Just forget about it. Rumors spread fast around here" His voice quivered, there was fear behind it but Caz would never admit that. Never. "Come on let's just go. We're going back to my place. I was told not to take you to unnecessary places." He said dully as he kept walking.
(Ayy thanks. It's the longest I've written in a bit if that's good?)
Zack didn't look up to meet the Angel's gaze, instead he kept his head down and to the ground. He wasn't ashamed of what he said. He had good friends who had come up from Hell with him just to Contract, only to be trapped and killed like flies under the hands of Angels. The faster he, Zack, got killed, the faster he could rejoin his friends and family in Hell. Was that his main goal? No. He wanted to be sent back without pain, without suffering… but clearly that wasn't possible, now that he was positioned with this asshole of an Angel. He wasn't going to forget about the bitter deaths of his friends. But he kept quiet and angry, carefully hiding it under a mask of indifference that he knew well. He followed the Angel quietly, careful not to shuffle his feet, careful not to make too much noise as he breathed, and careful not to walk too fast. Irritating the Angel into someone more unfriendly was not his goal. But it seemed he had pushed Caz to that border already.
(heccc yeah dude! It's great!~)
As soon as they got to the apartments they had to climb a long flight of stairs to the top floor where Caz's room was located. He lazily took out his keys, fiddled around with them, then unlocked the door. He threw the keys on the table which was in the center of the room. There were two couches on either side but no tv. "You can sit on the couch if you like," Caz told the demon. The small living room was plain and looked miserable, made you wonder how the neglected apartment was even a livable place. Caz walked down the hall to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water- the only thing he did find enjoyable. Then he walked to his room which was on the right side of the living room. He closed the door. When he came back out he was changed out of his formal white suit into a t-shirt and some jeans, yet he still had a mopey expression his face. "I'll show you to your room so you can go to sleep or something," He said as if he could care less. He walked down the hall towards the kitchen but took a right down another short hall. There were three doors but Caz walked to the one on the end. "This'll be your room. You can personalize it. Whatever. Just- don't scratch the walls please." Caz's temper has cooled down a bit now and seemed more chill. "Anyways. Goodnight. I'll see you in the morning." And with those brief words, Caz left off to his room.
Zack only shuffled to see where his room was, but didn't go down to investigate it. He looked around for some food, found none, and sighed softly. Zack ate a lot of snacks up in the Human world. As he settled himself down in a comfy little corner under the window of the dull, unpersonalized apartment, curling his wings around his body unhappily for some type of bed and blanket (which worked, his wings are extremely plush and warm), his stomach growled quietly under his skinny form. He curled up tightly so he was just a small little ball that could have been mistaken for a weird shadow if not for the joints of his wings sticking out protectively of the small Demon inside.
(Skip?)
(yeap)
Caz hadn't gotten shit of sleep. So when morning came around there were visible black bags under his eyes and he still did not look happy. His hair was messy- he didn't care, he wasn't about to look pretty for some demon. In fact, his whole being was a mess- a disaster- very disheveled. He grumpily went to the kitchen and opened the fridge. There was almost nothing in there except some spoiled milk that he had forgotten to take out and some take out boxes with perfectly good food still in them. Jasper had insisted on buying him stuff to eat but Caz refused. He didn't need it. He slammed the fridge door, irritated that his first thought of the morning was stupid Jasper and his stupid responsibilities and face, so instead he poured himself some more water. He glanced down the hall where Zack was at but said nothing- did nothing to wake him up. Caz sighed as he flopped onto the couch and grabbed a book to read from the side of the couch where there was a pile of mess- he hadn't noticed Zack because of his distracting thoughts. He hadn't even bothered to clean up. He never did. The others would snicker and talk behind his back because of how different he was. He wasn't tidy, neat, or clean. He wasn't a goddamn perfectionist for crying out loud, so why should he be forced into these set of rules? Caz suddenly stopped reading his book at the ferociously fast pace he was going at. He stopped to think about everyone who had been in his life. If he would have known that things would have ended up like this he would have most definitely killed himself.
(Oh just a small note Zack is near the front room, like with the two couches.)
Zack startled awake at the slamming of the refrigerator, making a soft noise and uncurling a little from his warm sleepy ball, peeking out cutely as Caz flopped down angrily nearby. His eyes were somewhat round and his wings shivered under him as the force of the situation bore down on him. Zack was in a lot of trouble to be in a position like this. He curled up tightly again, deciding not to move at all until Caz missed him, which would hopefully be never, and the Angel could mark him off as dead and find some other poor victim to starve. Speaking of starve, the small Demon's belly rumbled again, which was the only noise that he heard. Of course, it was almost impossible for Caz to hear since it was one, a tummy rumble, two, itnwas secluded in the thickness of his wings, and three, Caz seemed to be focused on other things.
Caz went on reading like this for several more minutes before he decided he was bored. He threw the book back in the pile and screamed the girliest scream he could have ever done. He nearly had a heart attack when he saw Zack just sitting there suddenly, but seeing the look on Zack's face of someone who had just woken up put him at ease. He was even cute just to say the least- wait. He froze. He did not just think of a demon as 'cute'. Of every other word he could have used he- Caz frowned. "What are you doing here?" He asked, the harshness from yesterday completely gone. "I thought I told you where your room was at? Down the hall, no?" Caz spoke, a bit confused to say the least. He got up and stretched then thought for a minute. 1) the guy was visibly shaking- was he cold? 2) maybe he scared? 3) was he an asshole for not offering breakfast first? He sighed. "Well anyways, there's food in the fridge if you want any. I don't know why you didn't sleep in your room but that's none of my damn business, do what you want." Caz said walking back to the kitchen again.
Zack started again at the scream, his eyes opening wide in fear and he scrambled closer to his corner, pressing himself against it. The hard joints of his wings pointed out protectively from Zack's back, as if he were ready to be attacked. The girly scream was certainly an alarm call. He sort of missed everything the Angel said, and he wasn't going to ask the other to repeat it or follow him. He snuffled and snuggled up into himself tightly, making sure to be as small and squished up against himself as possible, which was actually a very impressive amount. Zack's head was no longer sticking out, it was tucked away inside his dark wings, living just a blob of feathery warmth and quivering.
Caz stopped dead on his tracks and looked back at the demon. Was he actually scared?? 'Help him' chanted his mind. Oooohhh nooo. Not today. He may be an angel and probably did feel bad but he really couldn't start caring about them. It was in the rules. If you cared you became attached and then you could possibly betray the higher ups, which was a load of bullshit for Caz. Don't do it Caz. It's bad for you. Don't- "Are okay?" Rule one broken. "Are you possibly cold? Maybe hungry?" And just like that Caz's motherly personality kicked in. "As I said earlier there's food in the fridge if you want any. I could always get you some blankets…?" This was only day one and he was already failing at this. Caz had never seen someone so shy and quiet as Zack. Usually when they came to him they would try to go for his throat then raise hell for the next two weeks until Caz had to force them to calm down and obey.
Zack shivered more in his wings and he peeked out a little when the Angel showed concern. Why does he care? Angels aren't supposed to care about a Demon…
"I'm just hungry," Zack mumbled quietly into his feathers. "But I don't know what you have to offer me…" Zack wasn't going to eat anything the Angel offered him. The small Demon knew much better than that. He snuggled up closer into himself, pointing his joints out protectively towards the Angel and squishing his face up into his hands, making weird snuffling noises.
Caz just stared cooly at Zack. "Well that depends on what you want to eat. A stupid friend of mine keeps having restaurants deliver food here. So far there's chinese, greek, italian, mexican, disgusting fast food from McDonald's and burger king, even some shady restaurants that say they make authentic foods from all around the world but i call bullshit on that." He said, making a face when mentioned the fast food restaurants. The others weren't half bad but the amount of grease put into those two was revolting. "Or you know we could always go out to eat, I may not make a lot of cash but I think I could scrap up some savings" Caz said looking back at his room.
Caz acted more like a human than anything else. He didn't really have the nightmarish majesticness of an angel. It showed in every little geture he made. His anger and messy appearance. His indifference and how chill his demeanor was. Everything. No angel would have wanted a demon to look at them if they were looking as disgraceful as Caz.
Zack's wings shivered reproachfully at the look Caz was giving him. "I don't care what we get. I'm just hungry," He mumbled back, ppressing his nose to the ground and sniffing it dog-like. It was rather weird to see a human-like thing doing it, but it was most Demons did when they were bored or wanted to know where they were. Zack didn't know where the hell he was, and he was trying to get a grasp on something familiar. But there was little to nothing to assure that he was safe in this room.
He didn't want Caz to use his savings, but the mention of it rather shocked the small Demon. He was expecting all Angels to be well-off and covered for most things because of their job. Hearing otherwise was quite odd.
(Alright my dude. I think I already told everyone who I have rps with that I won't be on anymore and now the only one that's left is you. So I'll be gone for a few months because I realized that I can't balance my rps on this site and also all my responsibilities out in the real world. Sorry that I've been so inconsistent and now you only come back to see that i won't be on anymore. I promise that I'll make it up to you when i come back)
(Alright my dude that's okay. Don't stress yourself out about it ily!)
