"I can't go home without a mate. It's the rules," Zack murmured. "They don't want Vra-Cormoas to be lonely after their experience with Humans." His voice was stiff and tight, with a learned-by-heart tone to it. His lips were still pushed in a frown, but somehow more so at his speech. He sighed and glanced around at the buildings again at the Angel's question.
"I have killed someone, many people, for many Contracts with Humans. This is probably why they sent you to deal with me. I am somewhat dangerous, and probably out of control, right?"
That was almost exactly what they had told Caz about Zack.
"Then let's find you someone so you can go home" Caz said plainly, all amusement gone from his voice. "I don't know if you would kill again but if you do find someone and end up going home I still have to look out for you for a while." He sighed. "Yeah, but you really don't strike me as dangerous or out of control- now I'm not saying that i wished it would be like that cause god knows i don't but you dont look…" Caz paused, trying to find the right word. "Intimidating? You seem really passive…" Caz muttered at the end. "Ah, yes, anyways, you don't have to do all this" he gestured to the sky, meaning the lessons to become 'good'. "We could just find you someone and send you home." As Cas spoke, he seemed tired, like he had said the same thing a thousand times, done the whole thing a thousand times. "i don't want you to think this a trick or a joke of some kind because it's not…" Caz zoned out for a second, a dull look in his eyes. He gave up trying to explain on whatever it was he was trying to say. "Let's just go." He walked in silence after that, until they got to the front of the restaurant they had been at the day before. "I'll pay so knock yourself out" he said entering and holding the door open for Zack.
Zack stayed completely silent through Caz's speech, until the part of his passiveness. "I don't look like a Demon? I do not present myself to look intimidating because that's what Demons who want to be caught do. You Angels just haven't figured out our methods of staying away from you." It was bold, what he just said, but he vowed he wouldn't say any more about the methods, and nothing nearly as bold to Caz again in risk of getting hurt. He followed the Angel inside sticking his hands into his pockets in the meantime with a soft sigh as they were seated. He didn't bother picking up his menu; it was the same restaurant, after all. And he wasn't going to order too much, despite his growling stomach. He didn't want Caz running out of money and some other Angel coming by and yelling at him about it. And possibly administering punishment.
Caz was taken aback by what Zack said but he kept him mouth shut, following Zack inside and sitting down across from him. methods of staying away? he questioned in his head but dismissed it, not really interested or thinking that he should have the right to know. "You know, it's alright, right? You don't have to respect me or anything, I haven't done anything to deserve your respect. I'm not a high and mighty angel. I've tried to demonstrate that again and again but it seems like you haven't noticed yet. You don't have to believe me or take my word for it but I really wont hurt you, no matter what you do, i promise." Caz had crossed a line he was warned not to cross, trying to get friendly with a demon. Promising something to someone was like a bind for an angel, they had to keep their word in honor of their master's reputation, but Caz seemed unphased by his promise and instead leaned back in the chair, waiting for the guy to come over and take Zack's order. Though Caz seemed tired, dark bags under his eyes, like he hadn't gotten sleep, ever.
(Also, sorry i haven't been responding as much. I came to visit family and these past few days have been hella busy, so just a warning that i might not be able to answer right away or even frequently)
(Hey that’s a-okay. Do you wanna skip to the end of their meal?)
(Thanks my dude and yeah, i think that would be ideal XD)
(Ye no prob, and to when?)
(Hmmm maybe to where they're walking through a park? I am honesty out of ideas Im sorry XD)
(Ooof yea a park sounds nice.)
(Alrighty then, a park it is)
Caz sat on the park bench, taking a break with Zack from walking this far. A thousand thoughts ran through his head. Caz didn't know what to do with Zack. He could let him run rampant on earth without anyone to stop him, but he didn't want that. He didn't want an angel to catch him instead of him. At least with him he could protect Zack, he wasn't so sure with anyone else. He heavily distrusted everyone he worked with. "What if i go?" He asked at last, it was meant more as of a joke, just a thought that had went through his head. "What if i return with you? You could go back to doing what you were doing and i can just…" he trailed off. I can just watch over you, in hell. Forever. The thought made him feel uneasy, he thought of the place down under as a jail- there was no freedom as there was on earth, it was very different and he wasn't sure if he could stand it anymore. The funny part of all this was that he was actually considering the option now.
Zack meandered miserably after his Angel watcher, not sitting down, with his head down, back slumped and his hands shoved into his pockets. He glanced up a little when Caz spoke, his blank expression turning to one of confusion on his pointed, albeit cute facial features.
"Go with me? Back down to Draa-Mora?" He asked softly, blinking a couple times as if a bright light was just shone into his eyes. "Why would you want to do that? You'd have to watch over me in my own home. Surely you wouldn't like it." He finished Caz's sentence without even realizing it, just saying what came to his head first.
Caz shook his head. "It's not about whether i like it or not. It's about finding the best solution for you" he smiled weakly. "But you're right. I probably wouldn't like it anymore…but if it's something that can be done then I'd give it a shot." He shrugged. "Besides, i could keep a better eye on you. Make sure you don't do anything stupid anymore and stop you if you do, ya know? We just met and it's clear that you don't want to do this so im willing to roll with it until you're seen as someone who isn't a 'threat' anymore" he finished. Caz relaxed in the bench, looking tired, as if thinking of going down under wore him out.
Zack crossed his arms against his chest with a small shake of his head. "I don't want you to feel that you have to watch me. I'm not some psychopath. I'm just working to go back home. The most I do is just please the nastiest of Humans so others don't have to," He muttered, gripping his pant legs. He was either going to go back down alone with more nasty memories under his belt, or go back with a mate, and not this Angel. He didn't and wouldn't allow it.
"I'd rather stay. I'd rather go back down with someone who will enjoy it. You can tell your friends you killed me or something. I'm not going back down without a mate. Who… who will…" He trailed off, after realizing he was wildly off topic.
Caz sighed deeply. He was about to be so done. "You know that kinda hurt my feelings" he said with the most nonchalant look on his face. "Anyways, i don't know what to tell you. If i let you go and say that i killed you- then i get in trouble for it, you're only gonna get caught again." Caz's black eyes looked down at the floor, having leaned foward, seeing that the talk was getting somewhere. Caz closed his eyes, like he was trying to calm down. "Look, im not saying that you're a psychopath…i just…" Caz rubbed at his arms over the fabric, making them feel a little warm. He was getting frustrated- didn't know what to do. "Fine. Lets say i lie and let you go. Then what? You think im not gonna get investigated?" Caz glanced over at Zack. This was crazy. He was crazy. Caz hated conflict and was willing to give in, make a compromise with anothet person so that it made them happy. That would be his undoing. "What do you want me to do?" He asked, his eyes seeming a little duller.
Zack shrugged it off a little and glanced away, showing him none of his grey, emotionless eyes. "You're saying I'm uncontrolled and a psychopath, for wanting to put more innocent people after me. I don't care what you do. I want to continue my work for as long as it takes to find a mate, whether it's Human, Demon, or even a Half-Breed. I don't care. Just find a way that you don't have to get stuck with me. I'm not a great person to be around, if you haven't noticed already." He stood up and started to pace, his anxieties around being with the Angel finally taking him over.
Caz watched the demon pace. "You know what? I'll do it. I'll go down with you. I don't care if you don't want me to, I'll do it, don't test me." Caz's eyes glinted in the sun, his eyes daring for Zack to defy him. He then looked away, the moment of power gone. "You can twist my words however you like, but we both know in the little time we've been together that I'm not one to say something like that. But it's fine because it's what everyone else thinks." There was a bit of sharpness behind Caz's voice, like he had had enough.
Zack paused his pacing, turning to glare at the other, the sun now reflecting in his eyes like a flame. "I'm not testing you. I'm telling you to not come with me," Zack snapped back hoarsely, tightening his hands into fists and bringing them to his sides.
"I don't care what you think I'm trying to do, Angel. I don't want you to come back with me. I don't want you to be put somewhere where you don't belong."
Caz laughed at that, almost deliriously. "You don't know anything about being put somewhere where you don't belong. You shouldn't worry so much about me, I've been through worse." Caz got up. "But i mean it is your choice so pick your poison i suppose. I won't go if you don't want me to, though I think it would be a great opportunity for you to go back. I wouldn't even have to stay with you that long, i say you should think about it but if you're sure then you're sure." Caz's eyes softened as they looked up at the sky, he wasn't sure what he was feeling anymore. He didn't belong anywhere. Not on earth, not in heaven, and not even in the place down under.
Zack plopped back down on the bench and hugged his legs with a huff, just burying his head into his legs with a small sigh. He didn't know anymore. He thought it would honestly be easier to let the Angel kill him, because then he'd definitely be able to go back home. Just not in the way he is now. He'd be in a lot of pain, but he'd be home for the rest of his living days. Pain, or loneliness? He'd rather the first by far. But he already asked the "Why not kill me?" question, and he certainly wouldn't ask it again, no matter how much he wanted to.
"I guess you can stay with me."
Caz flinched at his response, he was genuinely not expecting that. "Wait, really?" He questioned dumbly. Nonetheless Caz was happy about that. He would be able to get Zack home without any of the other angels picking on him, because Caz had a very dark secret that was known by all angels but were sworn not to say anything on the matter. Some of them liked to torture their 'demons in training' when Caz was around because they knew he despised it. It had even gotten to a point where his own underling he had once, was kidnapped and killed. He wouldn't ever be able to live that down, it made him feel guilty- like he could of tried harder. As Caz was lost in his thought someone ran past him, bumping into him, making him loose his balance. Caz fell hard on the ground, using his hand to break the fall….though the only thing that broke was his wrist. Caz hissed at the pain that came next, then seeing how his hand started bleeding he hid it. He was still seething at the pain but refused to be owned by it. There was a few spots of something black on the pavement. "C-come on, let's go somewhere else. We'll go back to my place for now, then we'll see what we can do tomorrow" he said looking at Zack.
Caz's blood was black. This was irregular for an angel, because everyone knew that only demons had black blood. Angels on the other hand didn't bleed and could usually heal their wounds up really quick for any blood to come out. Caz had quickly said something, trying to take Zack's attention from what had happened. Caz didn't know what they would do to Zack if he knew about him and his secret. He wouldn't be able to take another one getting killed. He would kill himself before that happened.
Zack grunted in response to the dumb question, his head jolting up at the sound of a slamming of a body. He stood and scooted over to investigate, spotting the black blood but deciding it was none of his business. He helped Caz up sort of with ease (Demons were pretty strong fellows) and glanced around.
"Where can we get you help?" Zack asked as he leaned Caz's weight onto him and he started to wobble away with him. He'd go back to the apartment and try to use bandages to fix it or something. But there was a good chance that bandages were not available.
(Ahaha sorry, I've been a lazy piece of shit that doesn't want to respond cause i don't know what to put, writer's block is a bitch)
(aw sorry Mumu. I just got bored lol)
(Ah no, it's okay, i just haven't figured out how i want this to go, but don't worry about it, I'll try to answer later today cause im going somewhere with my cousin's right now and i don't have time)
(oh okay! Don't worry about me. I'll be waiting for you anyway, though. I really like this RP lol)
Caz gitted his teeth and looked away. "Just….my apartment would be fine, thank you" Caz felt pathetic. He so easily made mistakes and acted like a fool. He looked around and saw eyes on him. His ears burned red from embarrassment, he wanted to cry. It might seem like a small thing to cry over but Caz was very childish like that.
Once they had gotten away from the view of people he looked at Zack. "Hey um how about we fly there? It would be much easier for us…" he muttered, already expanding his black and white wings. Caz didn't show them much because he was ashamed to be different than the rest.
Zack nodded, and as soon as Caz mentioned flying, Zack's own wings exploded out of his back as if they were waiting for the invitation. They flapped mightily before taking off with both of them, his strong wings lifting them as Zack directed, keeping a strong grip on the Angel. Honestly, what was he thinking, helping this Angel out? He was most unlike most Demons, but he never thought he'd help an Angel. They were sworn enemies, after all, and many had killed his friends.
