Caz flinched, shocked at how eagerly Zack's wings wanted to be set free. Caz had the plan of flying on his own but all that was thrown out the window as soon as Zack took him up in the air with him. Caz would have never seen that coming in a million years. The fact that Zack would even help him at all was making Caz's heart beat faster, he felt it expand. Happiness. Caz smiled and looked away, not wanting Zack to see him.
The rest of the flight was quiet- as it had been from the beginning. When they got to Caz's apartment, he made sure to lock the doors once they were in. "Thanks….and sorry about all this. I know this is the last thing you want to be doing" Caz laughed softly, a hint of sadness in it. He went to the bathroom to see if he still had bandages- and he was in luck cause he did. A full roll of it. Caz tried several of times to wrap the bandage around his still bleeding hand and wrist but it kept coming loose and he couldn't keep it steady with just one hand. He sighed, frustrated, staring at his hand and the black blood on it. He was a grade a freak. Anyone could see that without even knowing about the color of his blood.
Zack had to take out his wings. They were starting to ache a whole lot. But it was pretty nice of him to fly Caz up to his apartment. It was a long, swishy flight for his wings, and when he landed he stretched them out to their whole length before ducking inside with them. He watched Caz walk away and slowly went after him. When Caz discovered he was not able to wrap his wrist alone, Zack appeared at the door, his gray eyes curious and soft, most unlike a Demon's would ever be. He might be a freak too.
"Do you need help, Caz?" He asked softly, watching him fail. He noted the black blood all over, but didn't care. Everyone was a freak somehow, right? And Zack wasn't some damn Angel about to tell him off for it.
Caz jolted, startled to find Zack at the doorway to the bathroom. "Oh umm this…" he moved his wounded hand around awkwardly. "Y-yeah, the help would be appreciated thanks" he said looking down, feeling miserable of himself. "Sorry for the bother…" he said quietly afterwards. Caz wasn't sure if this was getting anywhere with Zack, but the fact that he offered to help was a start….right? Caz choose to believe so, he was an angel after all, might as well act like one.
(Gahhhh sorry this one is so short x.x)
(that's okay)
"The reason it's not working is because of the blood on your hand," He murmured gently as he scooted into the bathroom, grabbing some toilet paper and an unused bottle of cleaning alcohol for the scrape. He cleaned the wound and stopped the bleeding, wrapping the wrist tight and cleanly after, taping it with medical tape and holding it still with his other hand.
"There." He let it go, washing his hands.
"Thanks again" he muttered, not really sure what to do next. "Well I guess that now we could get you ready to go back yeah?" He asked, already wanting to get a move on before any of his companions found out. It would be a real problem if they found out. Caz looked constantly stressed and tense. There didn't seem to be any reason for his behavior but it was odd that someone like him wouldn't be confident enough to even stand up straight and proud.
"Yeah." He let Caz's hand go with a soft sigh, looking down at his feet. "Caz… I'm sorry about what I said to you. I really shouldn't have assumed that you were like other Angels. I just know that Angels are heartless creatures who only think about themselves but you've really changed my mind about that…" He wasn't sure how, but he grew to like the Angel a bit more. He was more relaxed and inclined to help Zack rather than kill him.
Caz looked away, a little flustered. "No, it's alright. I understand where you're coming from and well, we really are heartless creatures" he chuckled. "I've seen a fair share of things that they do and they're far from humane, you have a right to dislike us. I wouldn't like me either.." Caz dark black eyes shone a little in the light.
There was a sudden knock on the door which startled Caz. He quickly got up to open the door. He froze as he saw Jasper standing there, his blinding white wings behind his back, asserting dominance and superiority. Caz was suddenly really sick to his stomach. "Jasper." Caz said plainly. "Casimir." He said as he made his way in. "So, anything new?" He looked over to Zack. "Haven't taught him a lesson or two yet?" Jasper said, venom in his tone. "N-no. That's not necessary. He hasn't done anything to deserve something like that." Caz quickly defended the demon. "Umm, Wings here is one of tbe best ones I've had, he isn't as bad as you made him out to be and-" Caz quickly shut his mouth when his eyes met Jaspers blue one's. "You're taking his side? Don't tell me you've turned on us?" Jasper smiled, a little sadistically, as if having anticipated this. "But umm where do you guys plan on goinh right now?" Jasper's eyes were sharp abd alert, knowing what Caz was up to. "Nothing!" Caz blurted out, noticeably more pale than before. He had never been good under pressure and they knew that, which was why they had assigned Jasper to make sure he did his job properly. "We just came back because i accidentally hurt myself." He said, hiding his bandaged hand. Jasper eyed them both, then turned to Zack. "So how do you like it so far? I'm sure Casimir is treating you very well…..for now." But Jasper made it seem like there was meaning behind his words- a dark meaning.
Zack bit his lip and looked over his shoulder at the arrival of a second Angel. He moved slowly after Caz, his wings dipping slowly onto the ground as if giving into the dominance of the other. Though he could easily measure up to the other, he felt small and insignificant.
His eyes flicked up a little when he was spoken to, shaking his head a little to try and avoid Caz from getting in trouble. "He got hurt while… while trying to punish me for seducing a human. He tripped when I stuck my foot out." He showed a random scar that happened to be on his cheek and pointed to it. Demons were known for their fast-acting bodies, meaning deep wounds healed much quicker than the usual norm.
Jasper's eyes narrowed, then they shot back at Caz. He moved towards Caz and patted him on the back. "I see that you're finally starting to get the hang of this~" he cooed. Caz didn't move, his eyes were dull, the light in them gone with the arrival of Jasper. "M'y-yeah.." he said quietly, though admitting to it left a bad taste in Caz's mouth.
Jasper smiled, even though he wasn't fully convinced. He knew that Caz had betrayed them before and that he would do it again. "Just remember Caz that we're watching you and that you don't get off the hook that easily like last time." He glanced over at Zack. "As for you. Stay in line. Or you'll end up like others before you. Dead. And it won't be quick. You'll suffer slowly in pain." Jasper seemed to get off to that. He was the type to love seeing others suffering, he was one of the more twisted angels, but also the more respected.
Zack's expression was carefully guarded and expressionless, like the first time Caz had seen him in their meeting spot. He didn't move as Jasper congratulated Caz and his expression seemed much more interested in the floor than the conversation, just like a Demon was supposed to act.
Though it changed when Jasper turned to him, and Zack's head tilted up in the slightest. His eyes darkened and the words seemed to have taken an effect to him. He swallowed heavily and nodded, his gaze fogging up with tears as he squeezed his hands tight into fists, trying his best to not collapse into a stupid mess of Demonic tears in front of the pair of Angels. He just wanted to leave where he couldn't be bothered anymore. Find his family and curl up into the arms of his mother and father again, act like a young Demon again.
When Caz heard what Jasper had said his eyes grew. And when he saw Zack tear up, something inside him snapped. He was not about to talk like that to Zack, because somewhere along the way he had gotten attached to him to the point where he felt the need to protect him. In fact, Caz had always been like that, even with other demons. He never let anyone disrespect them- or even do as much as lay a hand on them. Then there was the accident regarding the death of a few demons who he had taken care of. Caz's rage came racing forward at full throttle and before he knew what he was doing his three pair of wings bursted out of his back- gray- something that neither angel or demon had- something different. His fist made contact with Jasper's jaw. A look of superiority was on Caz's face as he looked down at the fallen angel. "Don't fucking talk like that to him or next time I'll break your neck as a revenge for all those demons you killed." Caz looked like a different person completely now. Jasper smiled and wiped the blood from his lips. "If you kill me they'll hunt you down. Like a demon. No matter where you go. They will find you." He looked up at Caz. Caz glared at him. "As if you don't know what i was before they made me into this horrible thing." Jasper lunged at him, he threw Caz to the floor, damaging one of his wings on the edge of the coffe table. "Or how how about i end everything right here?~" he licked his lips as he held a dagger made especially for killing angels to Caz's throat. Caz gritted his teeth and pushed him back roughly, earning him a deep slash to his neck, blood immediately started to pour out and there were no chances of it healing since it was done by an angelic dagger. Tears pooled in Caz's eyes. He was done with this- all of it. He snatched the dagger from the floor and threw himself on top of Jasper. Jasper yelped, as he had been trying to get up but was knocked down again. The room fell silent, Caz still on top of Jasper.
When he got up and turned to Zack, he was a mix of black and white sparkly blood. Caz's eyes were of one's that had already known murder. The dagger was still impaled into Jasper's chest and he was slowly turning into a white and sparkly type of dust. He stepped away from Zack. "S-sorry, I-" he bushed his hair away from his face with a shaky and bloodied hand. "They think you're the monster but I guess they should be afriad of me- you guys should be afraid of me." Caz looked around with a heavy guilty look on his face. He sat down on the couch trying to calm down. "T-this is the second time." He muttered to himself. They'll definitely get rid of me now. and for some reason that brought a smile to his lips, like he had been waiting for this.
(And Hey, im sad to say this but i don't think I'll get on after this for a while. I got school coming up in five days and i still haven't done my summer assignment. I'll drop by maybe once or twice a month to respond but i won't be as active since this is my senior year and i don't wanna fuck it up XD and since there's a lot of pressure on getting to college and finding a job- imma have to focus on that for a while, I'll probably be like this for the next year or so until everything settles down)
Zack gasped at the sudden rush of movement, barely clinging on to himself to pay attention to what was happening. He sniffled softly under the noise of the fight and wiped his eyes with his quivering hands, looking up slowly. As he looked up he saw Caz get slashed with the white dagger, tempted to step forward to help but couldn't bring himself to do it. It would be an extremely stupid move on his part, considering if other Angels came around, they'd blame him.
But the fight was already over, Jasper was a pile of ashy white on the ground. Zack was barely standing up against the wall as he watched Caz just plop down and talk nonchalantly. He moved forward slowly, picking his way across the broken coffee table to the couch, where he sat down with a shaky, soft sigh.
"I'm sorry. I made you do that, didn't I? Now they're going to come for you." His voice was husky and reserved, and he kept his gaze down to his hands. "I'm going to be assigned to another Angel." There he would most certainly be killed.
(awe man good luck. That's okay! just don't forget about Notebook lmao)
Caz shot him a shy kind smile, something he didn't do often. "No, you didn't don't worry. I've been meaning to do that for some time. He's an asshole." Caz said looking at the shiny dust on the floor, he looked away without remorse. Caz was quite an apathetic fella, but since he had been doing this for a few centuries now he knew how to act around humans- and supernatural beings. Their expressions, emotions, and gestures rubbed off on him, so he knew how to put on a good facade.
He hated for people to know that he was what a human would call a "sociopath" and so did the angels. They kept him hidden from everyone for so long but Caz was tired and bored of hiding, he needed something new- a new emotion to add spice to everything. Caz got back up and made his way over to Zack. "They probably will come for me but I'll be ready for them." Caz said with no regard of getting himself killed. "But as for you, my job is still not done. I have to take you back so you don't get hurt" His eyes laid upon Zack's tiny figure with lazy dangerous eyes.
Zack stood immediately after Caz, seizing his hands in his strong ones. “No. I will not let you just leave me there. Because they’ll be after me, too, and no matter where I am they’ll find me.” He wasn’t about to be killed cus of some Angel’s dumb sacrifice. “I don’t want to know what they’ll do to you, so I want to bring you back with me. You deserve as peaceful of a life as I do, and I…” He trailed off, not quite sure why he was so determined but… he was ready to take Caz even if he protested. He wasn’t going to let this Angel go, because this was how they were supposed to act. Sort of.
Caz raised an eyebrow. "You're going to take me back with you?" He asked. Originally Caz thought that Zack was kidding when he offered to go back with him, even Caz himself was musing the demon to see if he would actually do it, he hadn't exactly been expecting that reaction. Caz rubbed the back of his neck, feeling kinda shy now again. "I don't know….I haven't been around demons too much, except the ones they assign me. They probably wouldn't like it if an angel turned up in their residence and put them in danger." He said, his black eyes dimming a bit, but he smiled, genuinely, even if it was a small one.
After a while of silence, Caz thought about it. "I'll come with." He said finally said, making up his mind. "Just don't get too attached to me" Caz joked and laughed, but he really meant it. There was no telling when he would suddenly be killed by his kind, they were a ferocious kind and it intimidated him, being the highest-ranking angel, they would certainly come after him. Somewhere in the back of his head, something kept nagging at him not to go, that he would put Zack in danger but he also knew that Zack would still somehow be accused of his actions, so he needed to be ready to own up to that and defend the small demon boi.
“The only one you have to be near is me.” He didn’t want to go down alone, and in the chance of being in danger. His parents had left on a trip around the same time he left for Contracting and he wasn’t sure if they had come back yet, but he knew they were safe. He bit his lip and slowly let go of the Angel’s hands, looking distinctly awkward. He had always imagined going back home with a mate to spend his time with, to love and care for, but now he had this strange Angel who he couldn’t understand why he liked so much. He was afraid of the latter, of course, but he couldn’t help wanting to shy behind him and let the other just protect him and do all sorts of other things to him. It made him feel dirty and strange, like he was standing in another Angel’s shoes rather than a Demon’s. He couldn’t deny that he was attracted to the Angel and he quite frankly didn’t know what to think other than that dirty feeling, making him feel as if he shouldn’t be allowed back into his home and just kicked out forever. The feeling drew a large pit instead of his stomach and he felt his heart fall.
Caz saw the character change within Zack. He petted his head, trying to comfort him. "I promise I'll protect you." He said and as soon as he finished his eyes turned completely white, he grabbed Zack's hand gently, making an official promise. Soon after, a small cross appeared on Zack's forearm, it was white, it was similar to a pact. Caz's eyes soon went to normal, he stared at Zack for a few seconds. "Sorry I dragged you into all this, I'll do my best from now on" with that Caz snapped his fingers, letting the shackles binding Zack break off, it was something the angels did as a precaution, though they weren't literal handcuffs.
"I'll let you lead the way then, since I technically don't have permission to access that part of the world." He said quietly.
Zack looked back up at the Angel when the pact had been sealed, but his dark eyes were soft and sad, an emotion most unlike to appear on a Demon’s face. Well, what Angels thought, anyway. Demons (especially Zack) were very emotional and deep, and they liked to betray a lot of it sometimes. He looked down at the shimmering shackles, which slowly disappeared. He nodded a little and cupped his hands together. He was free, but he never felt more trapped and alone. All of a sudden this desire to go home disappeared. He thought it would be easier if he just let Casper kill him, but he wanted to protect the Angel. He looked down at the ground and sighed.
“If you have any stuff to pack, you should pack it now.”
(XD alright, alright, you caught me, i'll do it, we shall continue lmao)
(yesssssss Mumu if you can! I just wanted to bump this cus I’ve been rereading it and missing it lmao)
( awww hecca yeah i can, i just might be gone for long periods of time here and there, but i hope that's okay)
(hey that’s alright! I just wanna continue this one way or another yk?)
Cazimir saw the look on Zack's face and he seemed to mirror the same emotions, he felt like what he was doing wasn't right…nothing felt right.
No. It wasn't that he felt like 'it wasn't right', it was more like his soul- if he even ever had one to begin with, wanted everything to be different, at peace. Maybe it was just an angel thing, but no angel he knew of would want the demons to be 'at peace' and coexist with them.
Then Caz started to wonder how this all had happened. Sure, the demons were different than angels but what had really started all of this? No one had ever spoken of it, but then it didn't make sense. Why should the demons be segregated from the angels? Discriminated upon?
It was questions like these that made Caz an abomination in god's eyes, the thoughts alone and the desire to go against them.
He glanced over at Zack with soft heartfelt and apologetic eyes, then closed them and shook his head. "I don't have anything I want to take, I'll be fine." He said
