Alex grimaced a bit. “I guess I was.”
Alex grimaced a bit. “I guess I was.”
Autumn gave him a small smile and gently nudged him. "I know powerful music when I hear it, and that was powerful."
Alex nodded, glacing away. “Thanks, I guess.”
Autumn's smile fell slightly and she sighed. "Maybe we should go to bed…"
Alex looked at her. His emotions were carefully hidden. “Yeah. I guess we can.”
"Okay… Where's the guest room?" Autumn asked quietly, standing from her seat.
Alex sighed softly. “Up the steps, down the hall to the left.”
"Thanks," Autumn said with a nod. "I'll… see you in the morning, I guess."
Alex offered a small smile. “Yeah. Have a good night.”
"You, too," Autumn said, returning the smile before pressing a light kiss to his cheek and walking the stairs.
Alex relaxed into the couch with a sigh once she left. Did she really like it?
Following Alex's directions, Autumn easily found the guest room. She stepped inside and shut the door behind her, then plopped onto the bed. Looking up at the ceiling, she wondered about what Alex was thinking right now, hoping she hadn't somehow hurt his feelings like she felt she had.
Alex shook his head. I bet I just freaked her out.
Autumn continued to stare at the ceiling, mulling over her thoughts.
Maybe she should go back downstairs? No, if he was upset with her that wouldn't be a good idea… Maybe he would come up himself, though?
Alex picked up his remote. I should try and distract myself. She probably liked it… right?
After a while, Autumn groaned and got off the bed. She stepped out of the room and made her way back downstairs.
Alex had been acting strangely earlier, and it was bothering her. She had to see why he was acting that way.
Alex heard her walking downstairs and looked up. Why’s she coming down?
Autumn gave him a small smile and sat beside him.
"Hey," she started softly, looking down at her hands before looking back up at him worriedly. "I was just worried about you…"
Alex shifted to give her some room. “Hi. There’s no need to be worried. I’m okay.”
"Okay… I really did like your song," Autumn said, yet again.
Alex nodded, not quite believing her. “Thanks. Like I said, though, it wasn’t really… good.”
"It was, Alex, and I'm being deadly serious," Autumn assured him, looking at him intensely.
Alex didn’t meet her gaze. He just gave a slight nod and looked away.
"And this is why I was worried about you," Autumn muttered under her breath with a sigh, looking down at her lap.
Alex sighed softly. “Don’t be worried. I just thought it was creepy that I made a song about you.”
