Autumn sighed as she climbed into her car and shit the door behind her. She hoped he would be surprised.
A few minutes later, she pulled up in front of his house and stepped out. Walking up to the door, she couldn't help the grin that grew on her lips. She knocked, then waited for him to answer.
Alex jumped when the volume jumped suddenly. He was used to loudness, obviously, but he didn’t like it too sudden. He turned it down hastily. This distracted him from hearing anything.
Autumn sighed and knocked again, louder this time. He'd better hear her or else she'd have no idea what to do.
Alex looked up a little. Was someone knocking? Prolly just his imagination.
Meanwhile, outside, there was Alex’s car, definitely sitting there. He wouldn’t go anywhere without his car, or telling Autumn first. He even told her when he went to the grocery store.
"I swear, if he doesn't get down here then I'm just going to go back home," Autumn muttered to herself, banging on the door.
Alex gave his bedroom door an annoyed look. He threw his headphones off, out the door, down the steps and to his front door.
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” He grumbled, “whatever this is, it better be good.” He opened the door.
“Autumn!” He immediately perked up.
"I've been standing here for five minutes," Autumn huffed, putting her hands on her hips. "I was trying to surprise you…"
Alex chuckled. “You know where my spare key is. Plus the door was unlocked.” He turned the outside knob as proof.
"That's not how this works," Autumn grumbled, crossing her arms.
Alex chuckled happily and folded her into his arms. “I’m glad you’re home. It’s good to see you again.”
Autumn couldn't help but smile as she hugged him back. "It's good to be back. This movie is taking forever."
Alex lifted her up and shook her around. “When will you be able to stay here for another long break?”
"Hey!" Autumn laughed when she was shaken. "I don't know, they haven't told me yet. But I'm here for about a week this time."
Alex carried her inside and shut the door. “You’re staying the whole time, right?”
"With you?" Autumn asked, giggling as he carried her inside. "Or town in general?"
“With me!” Alex exclaimed as if it were obvious.
"I don't have any clothes here!" Autumn laughed. "Otherwise, I'd think about it."
“I could let you borrow some of mine. You’d be all comfy and cozzzyyyyy!” Alex giggled and scooped her up.
"Much as I'd love that, I'd like to wear my own clothes in public. Unless it's Walmart because nobody cares there," Autumn stated with a chuckle.
Alex nuzzled into her. “You can just wear them around the house. We wouldn’t go anywhere.”
"Hm… I'll think about it," Autumn teased, pulling back to look at him with a grin.
Alex giggled gently. “You’ll think about it, huh?”
"Yup," Autumn chuckled. She paused for a moment before saying, "Okay, I've made my decision."
(I’m wearing a black scarf today)
Alex giggled and squeezed her. “What is your decision?”
(Nice. I'm wearing work clothes.)
"I'll stay," Autumn declared with a grin.
