Alex grinned down at her. “She did. I hope we can help her.”
Alex grinned down at her. “She did. I hope we can help her.”
(Dude. What if he proposes on page 200? Or is that too far away?)
“Me too,” Autumn agreed, leaning into his side. “I want to find her parents, but at the same time I really like her already…”
(Hmmm depends on how long the hospital scene is and the adopting mess is.)
Alex wrapped his arms around her. “I bet we could still be in contact with her.”
“Wouldn’t that be a little weird, though? I mean, we’re adults, and she’s a kid… She shouldn’t have friends our age…” Autumn murmured, resting her chin on his shoulder.
Alex shrugged. “We saved her life. Or we will, anyway.”
“Hm, I suppose,” Autumn hummed as she kissed his cheek.
(All right. I’m going to disappear for a bit. I really need to finish my school…)
(Kk)
Alex returned the kiss and set his chin on her head. “I love yoouu!”
“I love you, too, my handsome rockstar!” Autumn laughed, pulling back slightly so she could kiss him on the lips quickly.
Alex giggled and made a faint fussy noise. “I wanna set my head on yours! Or I will be a grumpy rockstar.”
“Hey, no grumpy rockstars allowed,” Autumn chuckled, kissing him again before she buried her face in his neck.
Alex laughed softly and pulled away, only to burrow into her neck. “Mmm… I won’t be grumpy.”
“Hey, I thought you wanted to put your head on my head? I think you got your body parts mixed up, honey,” Autumn teased with a light laugh.
Alex giggled softly into her skin. “Whatever. It’s my face on you. And I’m comfy.”
“How are you comfortable? We’re standing. Standing isn’t comfortable,” Autumn said, kissing his hair.
Alex laughed softly. “Magical Alex ways.”
“Hm… Can I borrow some of it? My legs hurt from standing,” Autumn chuckled.
Alex laughed and pulled away. Just then, Jilly opened the door of the bathroom and waddled out.
Autumn looked over at the girl and grinned at her. “Hi, Jilly. How are you feeling?” she asked softly.
Jilly waved a little in response then hugged herself. She felt vulnerable and tired. She shrugged in response to Autumn’s question.
The poor child… Autumn wished she knew how to help her better, but she had limited experience with kids other than her sister.
“Would you like a blanket? Alex has some really nice ones,” she suggested.
Alex stood up straighter, ready to get one.
Jilly shook her head slowly. “No thank you.”
“All right, then. If you’re sure,” Autumn said, nodding slowly. She glanced over at Alex, curious. Should they go to the hospital now?
Alex looked at her, exchanging the same look with her and tilting his head. Poor little Jilly looked confused.
Autumn sighed and nodded slowly. They probably should. The sooner the better, right?
“All right, Jillian. Alex and I want to take you to get looked at, okay? We just want to make sure you’re okay.”
Alex nodded slowly. The sooner the better.
Jilly nodded slowly and hugged herself again. “Okay.”
