Alex chuckled and looked at the screen. It was filled with random splotches of sentences.
“Nope. I’m just piecing things together.”
Alex chuckled and looked at the screen. It was filled with random splotches of sentences.
“Nope. I’m just piecing things together.”
“M’kay… I’m glad Jillian was okay,” Autumn said softly.
Alex nodded. “She seems very shaken up.”
“I really wonder what happened. And how she ended up in our bushes,” Autumn mused.
Alex tilted his head a little. “I guess we’ll find out eventually.”
“I suppose. Are you almost done there?” Autumn asked, looking at his screen again.
Alex looked down at her when she looked at his screen. “Not really.”
“Oh. How long do you think you’ll be?” Autumn wondered as she looked over the words.
The words just seemed to be random blips of text. His cursor blinked between ‘many’ and ‘light’.
“I’m not sure. Why?”
“Because I want to cuddle… And then sleep,” Autumn said, turning her gaze back up to him.
Alex smiled and kissed her forehead. “Work calls, baby.”
Autumn sighed and buried her face in his neck, nuzzling him gently. “Fine, fine… But I expect to be made up to tomorrow night.”
Alex chuckled and leaned into her. “I can do the snuggling. But sleep, unsure.”
“No, no. You have to sleep. Tonight, too. Not sleeping is bad for you,” Autumn murmured, scooting down under the covers.
Alex watched her scoot away and leaned back into his pillows. “I suppose it is. But I have work.”
“Finish that and then sleep,” Autumn mumbled, closing her eyes. “If I find out you didn’t sleep, then we’re not going out to dinner until you have slept.”
Alex tisked softly. “You still owe me a dinner. Therefore your threat is devoid.”
“Yes, but you won’t get it until you sleep,” Autumn hummed, rolling over so she was facing away from him.
Alex looked at her and poked her back. “I love youuuu!”
“Love you, too, hun. Now let me sleep,” Autumn chuckled, rolling back over to look at him.
Alex poked her nose and smiled. “Okay. Good night.”
“Night, babe,” Autumn chuckled before she closed her eyes again.
(Yeeeee.)
Alex stayed up most of the night, but he wasn’t too tired. He just went downstairs when he finished and made some breakfast for the girls. He made himself a cup of joe and relaxed into a chair as the bacon cooked.
Autumn stirred, smelling the bacon even in her sleep. She rolled out of bed, rubbed the sleep from her eyes, and headed downstairs.
"G'morning," she greeted Alex sleepily.
Alex looked up from his mug, smiling. “Morning, baby. C’mere, give me a hug.” He stuck his arms out.
