“I don’t think anyone is, especially going through what we’ve been through.” Logan added on, gently running his hand through Jackson’s hair. He rested his head on Jackson's shoulder and watched as Raz came back with his abandoned cup of coffee
Jackson cuddled into Logan with a content hum as Jay waited for Raz to come back. "We're all here based on chance. Imagine what would've happened if I had never met Raz. None of us would be here right now."
Raz passed the cup to Logan before settling beside Jay. Logan took a sip o his now lukewarm coffee, glancing down as Jackson cuddled against him.
“I’m sure me and Raz would still be roommates, we’d probably just be two very single roommates.”
"Maybe. Possibly. That'd be interesting. You two would be complaining about being single rather than both being taken and one even being engaged." Jay laughed softly, shaking his head. "It's ridiculous, I know. But I was just thinking about it."
Raz shrugged “don’t know, both of have been through not so great times with our previous partners. Maybe we would’ve liked staying single for a while.” He sat on the arm of the couch and relaxed slightly
"Yeah but now you've got us. And don't you even think about trying to change that because we are far too attached to let go now." Jackson commented with a giggle.
“We would never.” Logan said, nudging his head with Jackson’s.
Raz nodded in agreement, lacing his hand with Jay’s “not a chance, you both know to much about us to let you leave us.”
"While I can probably stick around. We might have a problem with Jackson."
Jackson sighed, chewing on his lip. "Why do you always do this? I told you, it's not that big a deal."
"Being told you're transferring to France in two months is a big fucking deal! Did you even tell him yet?"
"No. But you just did."
Logan looked between the two, slowly processing what Jay had just said. “Wait…you’re leaving?” He managed to choke out, pulling himself out of the embrace and standing from the couch.
“And you knew?” He turned to Jay, trying his best not to break down again in front of them
"You didn't tell him?!"
"I was planning on it!"
"Jackson!!"
"You were the one that said it before I could! Stop yelling at me!"
Jackson sighed, frustrated, before turning to look at Logan.
"I only found out a couple days ago. I was planning on telling you once these two got home but looks like Jay jumped the gun on me."
Logan gave a small nod though he didn’t dare to look any of them in the eyes. He shuffled to his room and quietly shut the door.
Raz watched him move away, debating whether he should go after him or leave him to process everything on his own for now. After a few moments he glanced back at Jay and Jackson. “I know I’ve asked you what you did while you were away for those seven years but what exactly do you do for your contract jobs? What do you do to obtain a contract?”
"How did I convince you? That's pretty much how it's done." Jay shrugged.
"Yeah, it's an agreement between a demon and a human that the demon will essentially be an eternal protector, in some capacity. The contract activates when the bonded is in danger, using the demon's power to protect them. The bonded can also hone in on the power to use it themselves but that can get pretty out of hand so we've been told to stop saying that. Now the only people that actually learn how to control a demon are the ones who really want to and they are far and few between."
(Making up lore on the spot doo doo doo, not trash at all doo doo doo)
(It’s good don’t worryXD)
“If it’s anything like how we met, I think I can understand Lo’s worry. Raz stood, thinking over what the two had said. He didn’t want to worry, not for Logan’s relationship and not for his and Jay’s. He shook his head, fidgeting with his enhancement ring. “I’m gonna check on Lo.” He murmured, heading to his room and knocking gently before entering and shutting the door.
“Raz go, I don’t wanna talk.” Lo said weakly from his spot on the bed.
“I’m not gonna talk, I just need to breath.” He replied, opening the window and climbing out to the fire-escape. After a few moments he heard Logan shuffle his way out. “I don’t wanna lose him.” He said softly.
Raz nodded, thinking over the first few years he had been with Jay, and then imagining him doing the same with another. “I know Lo, I don’t either.”
Jay waited until Raz had entered Logan's room before he slapped Jackson upside the head.
"Ow! What the hell was that for?!"
"For you being an idiot and not telling him yourself!"
"I was going to! But you didn't let me!"
"You're still an idiot."
"Says the pot to the kettle."
Jay sighed, sitting back and rubbing his temples.
"Are you really gonna go?"
"Do I really have a choice? It's not like I'm bonded with Logan, I really don't have anything keeping me here other than myself."
“Will you make a contract with him?” Raz asked softly, wrapping an arm around Logan as he leaned against Raz’ shoulder. “Maybe, but that won’t keep him here. I mean, you and Jay have a contract but he still left to get more contracts.”
Raz fell silent for a few moments, “I know…and I let him.”
"Are you going to try to convince him?"
"No. What would be the point? I'd still have to leave and I don't know when or if I'd be back. I mean, you got here on a technicality."
"I mean, that's true but still. I tried to get back to Raz because I love him. And that's what I deemed as important. You have an eternity to get new souls. Logan is one in a million. You won't find another guy like him for a few millennia."
“What did you do when Jay left?” Logan shifted closer to a Raz, pulling the blanket closer to himself
He shrugged. “Well, for the first few years I finished up college and found the job at the publishing company. You became my roommate despite all our combined problems and I learned to deal with Jay leaving for so long. I still missed him but I knew it wouldn’t be the end of the world.”
Logan sighed and nodded sadly
"But what did you do when you left Raz?"
"My job, Jackson. It was the only thing I could do. It was hard, it was definitely hard, but I did it. Because it was the only way I had the possibility of coming back. And now I'm here."
"But that took seven years."
"That it did. But I knew I didn't have to worry about time. We'll have more than enough of it to share together. And that's just my experience. Yours could be a lot longer or a lot shorter."
Raz and Logan stayed talking for a bit until he noticed Logan slowly drifting off. Raz scooped him up and settled him into bed, glancing back when he felt tugging. “Can you stay tonight? Just for tonight? I don’t think I’m ready to talk to him about it yet.”
Raz nodded “give me a few minutes to say goodnight quick, Kay?”
Logan nodded and let Raz go.
Jackson and Jay continued to half talk, half argue until Jay heard the bedroom door open. The color left Jackson's face, he internally panicked. "I can't face him yet, what do I do?" He hissed quietly and Jay rolled his eyes. "Relax, it might not even be him. Learn to take a chill pill."
Raz released a breath as he quietly shut the door to the bedroom and walked back to the living room, leaning against the wall. “Well, this has been an eventful first night back.” He murmured, hugging himself. “We’re gonna turn in for the night.”
"Yeah, that's definitely a word for it." Jay sighed. Jackson was silent, wrapping his arms around his stomach. "You sleep well, I'll keep Jackson company until he calms his paranoid ass down enough to sleep."
He nodded slightly And offered a small smile. “He’s not the only one.” He glanced towards the bedroom and sighed softly. “I’ll see you in the morning, love you, night.” He said, shoving off the wall and going in to the bathroom to shower quickly before he went to bed
Jay waved goodnight as Jackson laid down so his head laid in Jay's lap. He stared up at Jay with a sigh. "What am I going to do?" Jay just shook his head. "I don't know. But you can figure it out tomorrow."
Raz settled beside Logan, hugging him close. “Raz-“
“Hush, no more talking about that now. The both of you are worried out of your mind. Me and Jay aren’t the people either of you should be talking to this about.” He glanced down at Logan, knowing he was being a bit harsh. “You and Jackson need to talk. You might not be able to convince him to stay but there are still things you need to talk about with him.”
Logan glanced up, eyes watery “he’s leaving me. I know it’s selfish but why would he ever make an effort to form a relationship if he knew he was going to leave?”
“That’s something you need to ask him.” Raz replied, holding Logan close and gently stroking his hair. “He loves you. Don’t you ever doubt that. We saw it that first date then and even now, he still loves you so much.”
