“I lived in Connecticut,” Allie added. “In the US. It’s nice there. Is there a specific place you miss?”
“I lived in Connecticut,” Allie added. “In the US. It’s nice there. Is there a specific place you miss?”
He shook his head. "I grew up in the US as well, but i moved around so much…" He shrugged.
“Oh, was it hard?” she asked. “I used to not be able to imagine completely starting over at a new school, in a new state. Obviously, I mean in context of before. Now moving schools or towns would be a piece of cake.”
He nodded. "It was…not fun." He said with a shrug. "It really wasn't."
“I’ll bet,” she agreed. Then she lapsed into silence for a few minutes before speaking up again. “Do you want to play twenty questions?”
He hesitated, then shrugged. "Sure, why not." He replied with a smile. "You go first?"
“Wait, you mean ask first?” she clarified. His answers were not easing her suspicions any.
He nodded. "Yes please. I can't remember how to play." He said, opening his eyes and looking at her carefully.
“One person asks a question and the other person answers it truthfully,” Allie explained. She was growing increasingly suspicious but did her best to hide it. “What is your favorite color?” She usually started off with something easy and worked her way up to the more personal questions.
Logan shifted, closing his eyes again. "Green." He replied calmly. "And yours? Your favorite color?" He asked.
“Mine is blue,” Allie replied. “What was your favorite hobby?”
He thought for a moment. "Drawing." He said after a moment. "What would be your favorite place to visit, if it weren't for the aliens?"
“I’ve always wanted to go to London,” she said wistfully. “Maybe someday I’ll see it. If you could only eat the same meal for the rest of your life, what food would you choose?”
He sighed. "Pizza." He chuckled softly. "Definitely would be pizza. If you could drink anything at all, what would it be?" He looked at her for a moment.
“I always really liked lemonade,” she admitted, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “What is your favorite childhood memory?”
He thought for a long moment. "I don't really have one…maybe the time I went to the zoo?" He shrugged. "Did you ever have any pets?"
“I had the cutest little beagle named Lucy,” Allie said, remembering her. “She died during the invasion.” She started tearing up. Of all things to cry about. She looked away from Logan and wiped her hand across her face quickly, hoping he hadn’t noticed her short emotional reaction. “Did you have any pets?”
He had his eyes closed, and so hadn't noticed her slight emotion. "Mm. No. I didn't." He replied. "How many siblings did you have?"
“None, I’m an only child,” she replied. “What did you want to do for your job?”
"Mm. I wanted to be a professional artist, actually." He replied. "What about you? What did you want to be?"
“Wow, that’s cool!” she exclaimed. “I wanted to be a lawyer, actually. What was your least favorite activity?”
He smiled slightly. "Thanks. Uhm… socializing." He laughed softly. "What was your least favorite food?"
Allie laughed. “Yeah that could be such a pain,” she agreed. “Definitely mushrooms. They’re disgusting and slimy. Biggest irrational fear?”
He nade a face. "Agreed. Uhm…" He trailed off. "I'm not sure." He replied slowly. "I really don't know." He shrugged. "Uhm…greatest dream? As in goal?"
“Right now? To survive and hopefully find my dad. Before the invasion? To make a difference. Most embarrassing story?” Allie sighed and closed her eyes.
