“Oh right,” Allie replied. “Hmm…how about Candyland? It makes me nostalgic.” She got a dreamy smile.
“Oh right,” Allie replied. “Hmm…how about Candyland? It makes me nostalgic.” She got a dreamy smile.
Logan smiled. "Alright, that works." He replied, setting the other games away, and starting to set up Candyland.
“Can I be the blue one? I used to always pick the blue one,” she said, excited. She blushed, a bit nervous at her giddiness.
Logan laughed softly, and nodded. "Yeah, sure. Go ahead." He replied, putting the blue one down on the starting spot.
“Okay, what color do you want to be?” she asked with a gleam in her eye. She remembered that Alex was always green. The two of them would fight over who got to be blue and she always won.
Logan examined the colors. "Hmm…red." he replied, setting it down on the starting place. "You can go first."
“Aw, thanks,” Allie said with a smile. “I’m totally gonna crush you though.” She drew a card, and moved to the first purple space. She wasn’t extremely good at board games or anything, just competitive.
Logan chuckled. "Alright." he replied, stretching and looking down at the board. He drew a card, and moved to the space. "I've…actually never played this, so I may need some help." he admitted.
“It’s pretty simple. All you have to do is draw a card and then move to the next space that is that color,” Allie explained, drawing a blue card next and only moving one space. “Sometimes they have little symbols, but if you get one of those I’ll explain what it means.”
"Ohh okay." he replied, drawing another card and moving. "What are the symbols?" he asked curiously, looking at her for a moment, then down at the board again.
“There’s like a licorice, a gingerbread cookie, the same ones as there are on some of the spaces of the board. If you get one of those you have to go to that spot, whether it’s moving forwards or backwards.” She picked up another card and moved.
(I gtg to bed. Good night!)
He nodded. "Oh, okay." he moved as well, setting the used card aside as he studied the board.
(night!)
“Yeah,” Allie said. “My favorite was the ice cream princess. Actually, maybe she’s the frosting princess. Either way, she’s near the end of the board, so I was always excited to pull her symbol.”
Logan laughed softly, and nodded. "Alright." He replied, taking his turn and watching the board curiously.
Allie got the licorice card, causing her to move several spaces forward. “HaHA!” she exclaimed triumphantly.
Logan sighed. "Damn." He muttered. He looked at her inquisitively. "Does play continue as normal, or does something else happen?" He asked.
“We just keep going like normal, I think.” She shrugged. “At least, that’s how I remember it.”
Logan nodded, and drew a card, moving his piece as needed. "Okay." He replied, sitting cross legged on the bed.
Allie got another plain colored card and moved, grinning because she was ahead of Logan. Playing Candyland made her think of a being a kid again, and Allie almost wanted to disappear in the feeling.
Logan wrinkled his nose at her, and made his next move. "You're going to win." He said, a touch grumpily.
She giggled and stuck out her tongue at him, teasing. “Of course I am. I’m the master at Candyland.”
He rolled his eyes. "Mm. I can tell." He replied, chuckling softly. "I think you just whip my ass at all games."
Allie laughed. “True,” she said, tilting her head to the side.
Logan looked over at her, smirking slightly. "Anyway…" he took his turn.
Allie smirked and then pulled the gingerbread symbol, causing her to have to move back near the beginning. Winning was fun while it lasted. She pouted. “Shit.”
