The castle was in chaos after the attempt on the kings life, and many were fearful. Aki was doing his best to research tracking spells and protective spells to make sure the king and the prince were safe.
Lucien had made sure his father was alright, then had taken over running the palace for however long he would need to, his crown crooked on his head.
Aki was in the library, scanning the books and documents as quickly as humanly possible. He was constantly chanting or muttering under his breath.
Lucien went into the library, poking through some of the books and muttering to himself.
"Why! Useless book!" He throws one in anger before sighing. He hadn't gotten any sleep since the assassination attempt, and he was exhausted. He sits on the ground and gave a frustrated sigh.
Lucien looked up, and walked over, crouching by him. "Aki, when was the last time you slept?" He asked softly.
Aki looks up, "Ah. Prince Lucien." He mutters softly, rubbing at his eyes. "I'm not sure. I think it was the night of the assassination attempt…" He mutters as he fights to keep his eyes open.
Lucien shook his head. "Your determination is admirable, but you need to sleep." He said softly. "Okay?"
Aki nods before slowly standing. He stumbled a little and leaned against the desk. He rubbed at his head, hissing a little at the faint pounding in his head.
Lucien put a hand on his back lightly. "Do you want me to show you to a room?" He asked.
"Yes, please." He whispers as he leans against his desk. His headache became stronger and he groaned faintly.
He nodded. "Okay. Come with me." He started to lead Aki out of the room.
Aki nods and sighs softly as he walks after the other and stumbles, his eyes blackening out for a moment. He groaned and leaned against the wall.
Lucien sighed. "It'll take forever at this rate." He bent and carefully picked up Aki, carrying him bridal style as he headed towards a guest room.
Aki starts in surprised when Lucien picked him up, but he didn't fight. He was to weak to protest the other, and his head hurt so much. It was practically agonizing.
Lucien held him gently as he walked. "Do you need anything before you sleep?" He asked, glancing down at Aki.
Ali shook his head. "S-something for a headache…" He whispered as he curls up into Lucien's arms.
Lucien nodded, and changed directions. "Okay. We'll stop by the healer's first, then." He said with a smile.
Aki nods in thanks as he shuts his eyes. "Thank you." He whispers.
"You're welcome." Lucien replied. As he walked, they caught a few stares when people saw the prince carrying another man, but no one said anything.
Aki leaned into Lucien, his head throbbing. He groaned softly, his eyes fluttering shut.
