Blitz stood up and glared at Blue. "Trust me, the feeling is mutual. Do you know what she did?"
Ava's eyes narrowed. "Shut the hell up, Blitz."
Blitz stood up and glared at Blue. "Trust me, the feeling is mutual. Do you know what she did?"
Ava's eyes narrowed. "Shut the hell up, Blitz."
"Tha's for her t' tell me, not you." Blue said calmly, flickering a glance over at Blitz.
Blitz smirked. "You'd better leave before Razor escorts you out."
Ava almost instantly grabbed Blue's arm and pulled her towards the door.
"Oh, and Madeline!" Blitz purred. "It's not breaking the code if you are no longer covered by it."
Ava ignored her and flung the door open, marching out and pulling Blue behind her.
Blue tugged a hand through her hair as she let Ava drag her out, her face returning to it's usual stony poker face. "Ava." She only spoke again once they were in her car, her eyes on the steering wheel as she mulled over the encounter in her head.
Ava closed her eyes, trying to ignore the pounding in her head. "Yeah?"
Blue looked over at her, studying her for a moment before sighing. "You alright?" She asked, pulling away from the curb and starting down the street.
"Sorry you had to see that," she replied, not answering the question.
"If I had known it woulda ended like that, I woulda stepped in sooner." She glanced back at her before turning her gaze to the road again.
"I don't know what I was thinking…" Ava mumbled. "I never should have taken you there."
"Hey. It's cool, a'ight? Lesson learned." Blue offered, tugging a hand through her hair once more.
Ava opened her eyes and looked over at Blue. Her tired, hard eyes that looked too old for her softened as she studied Blue. "So, what's next?"
"Milkshakes." Blue said, the corner of her mouth quirking up into a a small smile. "Makayla's instant cheer up solution. There's a Sonic just a little ways away, and then I've got a surprise stop."
Ava's eyebrows arched. "Oh?"
"Yup. Milkshakes, and a mystery stop." Blue said, nodding. "Anywhere you need t' stop?"
"Nope," Ava sighed, leaning back against the seat.
"A'ight." Blue nodded, and they lapsed into a comfortable silence as she drove.
Ava sighed. She couldn't stop thinking about their kiss. And how much she wanted to do it again.
I really shouldn't want to kiss her as bad as I do. Blue's cheeks warmed a tad at her own thought process, and she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth, trying to think about anything else.
As much as Ava loved car rides, she hated silence. "Penny for your thoughts?" she blurted.
"Put it in the cupholder and we'll see." The words slipped from Blue's mouth before she could stop them. "I mean-uh, inside joke, sorry. I'm not…I was thinking about earlier."
Ava arched an eyebrow. "You gotta be more specific, honey. A lot of things happened 'earlier'. I was born 'earlier.'"
Blue's cheeks reddened, and she kept her gaze focused ahead. "Er-in the car. The-the kiss. I was thinking about that."
"What about it?" Ava asked nonchalantly, like she hadn't been thinking of it too…
"All of it?" Blue shrugged a shoulder, once again looking slightly confused. "An'…how I felt about it. I know how I feel, I mean, but at the same time…I'm confused."
"Confused about what?" she asked, looking over at Blue.
