"What are you doing?" asked Shiva, his voice oddly difficult to hear. It felt more like it was inside their heads, rather than being spoken, but at the same time as it was distant and muffled, it seemed loud and thunderous. "What do two demons and an angel want with me?"
"Weeee're just wondering if you could uh…help us with something, Lord Shiva," Belphegor said, it's jaunty tone returning in some capacity. "But allow me to introduce my friends first. This is Nino, a worthy warrior, and Chandra, a noble creature of good. I hope you remember me, from that one time with the bucket, and the kids, and that big pile of-"
Shiva waved his hand, cutting Belphegor off, and his gaze settled on Nino and Chandra.
"Namaste," he said, pressing his palms together and tipping his head at them. "Welcome."
Nino gave the traditional respectful Japanese bow of greeting "Shiba-shin ni o ai dekite kōeidesu" or A pleasure to meet you Lord Shiva. As she stood from the bow she felt a small bit of awkward creep up her spine but dismissed the thought as what human called a cold chill
Chandra glanced at Nino. Demons knew Japanese? She didn't really know what to do so she bowed her head in respect. "はじめまして," she said. A pleasure to meet you, Chandra mentally translated. There was more she could have said, but she had absolutely no idea what she was doing. All she was doing, really, was copying what others did. One of the only reasons why she had not repeated Nino's words word for word was because it was quite a mouthful for a non-native speaker. She didn't grow up in Japan. Heck, she didn't even technically grow up on Earth. Rather, in the atmosphere of Earth. A place called Heaven.
Nino nodded to Chandra with respect in her eyes Respect for an angel heh her eyes gleamed slightly in the light even if she was intimidated by Shiva. "I didn't know you knew Japanese, Chandra"
" I, in fact, can speak all of the human languages quite fluently," Chandra explained to Nino. She looked away shyly, for she didn't like to feel as though she was showing off.
(Sorry guys!!! School's got me really freaking busy right now, but I'll keep trying to be as consistent as possible. I should be mostly back, but I'll still be pretty spotty.)
Shiva tilted his head in amusement. "आपसे मिलकर भी एक खुशी हुई," he replied in Hindi. A pleasure to meet you too.
"Welcome, what brings to you my mountain?"
Belphegor stepped forward again, winking at it's friends as it did so. "Cred că voi sări și eu pe barca cu limbi străine." I think I'll jump on the foreign language boat too.
"I'm sure you know, lord Shiva, of the disturbance plaguing the earth and the realms currently," it said, returning to business. "We're trying to find the problem, and stop it before things grow out of control. We were recommended your councell."
Nino nodded in agreement as she looked to Chandra then to Belphegor "that is the truth otherwise this unlikely group wouldn't be here" all her childish manner was gone as she slipped into a calm focused manner her emerald eyes shifting to a darker jade green as she thought about all that had happened and the bonds they now shared
Chandra just gave a small nod, also agreeing with what Belphegor had just said. She saw no need to say anything else, and stayed silent.
(Sorry guys, I'm going to continue to be spotty, right now I have two jobs, plus school plus caring for my rescue dog, plus counselling TwT I promise I'll keep up with you as much as possible! Sorry if my replies are shorter than normal as well :/)
Shiva frowned, sitting down on a rock and shaking his head.
"Sit for a while," he invited. "You look weary, and there are things we must discuss."
"Thank-you, my lord," Belphegor said with a slight bow. It flopped unceremoniously onto the ground, stretching and twisting to snap out it's joints. "You said it, we've got a ton we need to cover. I take it you know something about this?"
"I do," Shiva agreed. "But first, you three tell me all you know."
Nino sat slowly and properly onto a nearby boulder and gently kicked Belphegor with the toe of her shoe "sit up please" she looked around then centered her focus on Shiva as she fidgeted with her fingers waiting for time to pass and get on with the topic so they can go on and help the place she grew to call home
Chandra looked up at Shiva, tilting her head slightly. "Tell you all we know about what? This… situation that brought us all here? I don't know anything, if anything, Belphegor should know the things…"
She tried to make her voice sound as if she was merely stating a fact. She knew that the wrong tone could send a different message than she wanted to send. After all, it was the facts. Well, most of it. She did know some, but it wasn't as if the information Belphegor had given her was exactly the easiest to take in, given the fact that she thought her whole life that God could take care of everything. All her life, she'd thought that her job was to relay messages to the humans. That was it. Nothing more. But then here was this demon, who had set all that straight. Obviously, he couldn't. There was more than one dimension. It was a lot to process, even for her, one of the first angels to come into existence.
(Thanks for being so patient you guys!!!! You're both the best <3)
"So what I know is this," Belphegor began. "There's something really very wrong at the center of what's holding this universe together. I don't know what, or why, but humans are starting to notice demonic, angelic, and magic presences. RIght now it's no biggy, just tricks of the light and such, but I'm worried it's only going to get worse. The problem is, the Source isn't something us meager folk have access to. Well, I suppose we technically do, but I don't fancy getting melted alive. We talked to good old Anu, but he directed us to you. We don't know why this is happening, but I feel it could spell a much larger problem. If the Source of the universe is damaged, we could be in serious trouble."
It shrugged.
"I honestly had no idea the Source could get damaged."
"I see," mused Shiva. "But everything comes to an end. This universe, you and I and all in between. Perhaps this is our natural end."
"But you don't think so," Belphegor hopefully ventured. "I don't really want to get erased or whatever."
"I don't think so," Shiva agreed. "We would have seen the coming on the tides and the winds of time. This is not our predicted end. But I know of the disturbance you speak of. My meditations have seen a small sliver of Presence growing in the Source. I do not know what this Presence is, but it is upsetting the balance. It is beyond my influence. But perhaps not yours."
"Uhhh…" Belphegor raised an eyebrow. "How are we supposed to influence anything if we can't even access the Source without, you know, dying?"
"There are ways," Shiva said. "But not on this world. You must travel further from your homes. Find a place where the sky burns with fire. there you might find what you need."
(OH MY GODS I AM SO LATE! Thanks for waiting.)
Nino looked to Chandra with a confused look as if she had spaced out. Then back to Shiva and Belphegor hearing the last piece of what was said Find a place where the sky burns of fire. Her hair ruffled by the slight wind, rain was soon to come. "That makes me think of Hell"
(No worries at all!!! I think Izzy's gone right now anyways, so no biggie ^^)
((Izzy if you're reading this, no need to feel stressed about replying, I'm sure we both are happy to wait for you))
(yup i'll wait. I have been taught that people need patience or they will fall)
(thanks both of ya)
(ik ive been gone for ages but yes hi im alive… mostly)
"Yeah, I would have to agree, honestly," Chandra agreed. "I know for a fact that neither heaven nor the humans' world have a sky that burns with fire. Hell seems like the most reasonable choice… but what if there's another place that we don't know about that is what Shiva is talking about?"
(Sunny might need some time, idk)
(It can be. We will wait for our comrade)
(Wait, did I never get to you guys????? omg, I'm so sorry!!!!! I'm gonna have to keep this on hold for now, but maybe we can pick it up again!! I thought I got to everyone when I left, I'm so sorry!!)
