Colden looked at his phone as he saw the text and responded saying thanks then he started walking to the restaurant.

(Pretty much.)
Mavi had ended up taking the bus- even if she despised cars- but she wasn't about to walk in heels. Once arriving she went inside to see if he had gotten there yet.
Colden walked for a few minutes until he finally saw the restaurant and walked inside.
"Hey stranger." Mavi called happily when she spotted him. "Nice outfit."
"Thanks. You look nice too." he said with a smile.
"Thanks." Mavi returned the smile before turning to the person at the desk. "Dulone." She said. The person nodded and led them to a table where her father sat, waiting.
Colden followed them both to the table and sat a man sitting there already. He assumed it was her father m
"Hey dad." Mavi slid into a seat. "I bought a friend hope you don't mind. Yes he's just a friend. No we're not dating. And we met yesterday." She smiled at him. Her smile a warning.
Colden sat down in another seat and smiled awkwardly at Mavi's dad.
"Well, looks like the days of our daddy daughter dates are over." He out stretched his hand to shake. Colden's. "What's your name son?"
Colden shook his hand. "My name is Colden." He told him.
(I must tell you it took forever to write the word shook on a phone. It kept becoming ah ok k)
(Oh my gosh. Lol. Auto correct can suck sometimes.)
"Well its nice to meet you Colden. As I assume you know, I'm Mavi's father." His own smile seemed to radiate the same poision as Mavi's. though his eyes weren't the same deadly green. Softer infact, a light blue that seemed rather unnatural.
"Nice to meet you to, sir." Colden replied.
"Tell me boy, was my daughter telling the truth? Are you two really not dating? Because if you are, well I'd have to-" Mavi cut him off by coughing.
"Um, Sir we just met yesterday. For all I know she wants to kill me."
"Kill you? Now where'd you get that idea from?" Mavi rolled her eyes and laughed, while her father glared at her.
"Well my daughter dose have a killer instinct about her. Be warned." Her father smiled, though it seemed rather cold.
Colden smiled then laughed a bit nervously.
"Dad!" Mavi glared at her father angrily, but that didn't stop him. "what? Afraid someone will find out? How bad could it really be? He seems like a nice boy. One that can-" Mavi threw her napkin at him and offered an apologetic look to Colden, "sorry about my dad. Uh, shall we order our food?"
"uh. Sure. Yeah" Colden replied slowly then looked down at the menu.
Mavi smiled coldly before also looking down at her menu. She decided to go with something simple, >insert fancy food name< as she didn't feel like eating a ton.
"So Colden, what do your parents do for a living?" Her father had decided to change the subject as he too looked at his menu.
"um my mom is a florist. My dad works at a school." Colden replied then decided on what he would eat (generic restaurant food).
"Ah, so you're not used to restaurants like this?"
"DAD!" Mavi glared at her father just as a waiter came over to take there orders.
"Um. No not really." Colden replied feeling really awkward about this whole thing.
"You will not talk to my friend that way." Poision leaked from her skin, her father feeling the effects right away.
"Mavi."
She retook control and stood. "Have a fun dinner by yourself dad. Come on Colden."
Colden nodded and stood then followed her out of the restaurant without a single word.
