"They've been raised the same. Wouldn't you like to meet your own kind?" He said gently. "If you don't want too that's fine. Just thought it'd catch your interest my prince, that's all." He shrugged and tuned in a bit to the conversation.
Marius shrugged a bit. I dunno… maybe. If Marianna wants to go there, then I'll go. I'm pretty much just letting her plan the wedding… I don't wanna do it anyway, so she might as well have the wretched thing to her tastes.
Evan flicked Marius's nose. "Hush. You deserve as much say. I'll be there too as a best man, you best make sure I look my best." He smiled and chuckled a bit, happy to be around Marius like this. Crystal then cleared her throat. "Well then. I will go get to sewing the dress. Evan come with me please." He was about to get up when Marianna spoke up. "I'm sorry Marius but why do you always wear that mask?" She reached over a bit. "What are you hiding? Some horrible scar? Some other secret. Cmon show me show me show me! I wanna know! I should know if we're going to make love!" She tried to reach over and take it off. Crystal was already gone. There really was no one to stop her. Evan tried to hold her back but she threw him to the ground.
H-Hey! Don't touch that! Marius tried to push Marianna away, but it was too late. She already had a hold on his mask and had pulled it off, exposing his sealed, scarred mouth. He froze where he was, his face paling. It took him a couple of seconds to regain control of his body, at which point he quickly covered his mouth with one hand.
Evan immediately got up and pulled Marius to him, hiding his face in his chest. "Breath Prince, breath. Marianna how dare you. How are you supposed to get along with him if you are rude like this. You could get yourself killed by doing that!" He snatched the mask back and handed it back to Marius, still holding him. "Ha! He couldn't kill me!" Evan only shook his head. "Anna. That was horrible of you." "He looks like a monster. I regret taking it off anyways." Evan looked down at Marius and started petting him. "I don't think so."
Marius took the mask and ran off to his room, slamming the door behind him. He curled up on the ground beside his bed, shaking violently as he struggled to breathe. Tears stung his eyes and he held them back for a bit, but they were soon flowing freely. Monster… Marianna's voice echoed in his mind and he shook his head a bit, sobbing quietly into his arms.
Evan grabbed Marianna's arm and dragged her off to Crystal where he told her what happened. Immediately Crystal began to lecture Marianna. Evan left and went to Marius's room, and knocked on his door. "Would you like me by your side Prince or would you like some alone time?" He asked gently. He was close to killing Marianna already within that small amount of time.
Marius hesitated for a few seconds, considering. He hated to let people see him cry, but… Evan wouldn't make fun of him, right? And he really didn't want to be alone right now. You… um… y-you can come in… He curled in on himself a bit more, still shaking violently. It had been ages since he'd had an episode like this, and he was thoroughly not enjoying it.
Evan nodded and walked in quietly, then shut the door and pulled Marius back to him. "You aren't a monster. I still think you're handsome. We all have our shares of pain. Even me." He said this softly as he kissed Marius's cheeks, not daring to kiss his lovers lips, as he traced them with a finger gently. "You're so…so handsome. And I'm so happy to have met you."
A few fresh tears rolled down Marius's cheeks and he closed his eyes, huddling closer to Evan. I am a monster… s-she's right about me… He hiccuped a bit, the sound muffled by his sealed mouth. He turned back his ears and buried his face in the other's chest, still crying softly despite his efforts to stop.
"No you're not. You've faced some horrid events in your past." He kissed his head and pet him gently, holding him tightly. "I'll sabotage the wedding for you. I will. Set loose the doves too soon and have them attack everyone. You deserve vengeance." He leaned down and looked into his eyes and kissed his tears away gently. "I love you Marius. And if you're a monster then I must be one too for birds of a feather flock together."
Marius whimpered weakly, quivering in Evan's arms. You're not a monster… I am. You deserve someone better than me… He clung tightly to Evan, wrapping his legs around the other's waist. I wish I didn't have to marry her… I won't be allowed to wear the mask during the wedding. We'll never be able to do it… she thinks I'm a freak, and she'd never kiss me when I look like this…
A light went off in his head and he asked. "Marius may…may I kiss you? You're not a monster at all. I love you very much. More then I have anyone else, you're the exact opposite of a monster. And. I have a…a theory. Of course if you don't want a kiss on the lips that's okay just…just an idea." He said this with care, staring into his lovers eyes.
Marius rubbed at his teary eyes with one fist, his ears still drooping as he considered. I… I don't really care at this point. You… uhm… you can kiss me if you want to… He sighed shakily and closed his eyes again, just slumping up against Evan's chest so the other could hold him.
Evan gulped and kissed Marius's lips gently, and slowly he felt them get warm, and become undone. But he didn't stop, pressing his lips even more onto Marius, holding him tightly as he did so, all snuggled up. He was happy that his theory was correct.
Marius could feel his lips softening a bit as Evan kissed him and he shivered a bit, melting into Evan's gentle touch. "Mm…" He pulled away after a bit, panting lightly and very flushed. He ran his thumb over his lips, trying to process what had happened.
Evan sat back and smiled hugely. "Ha yes my theory was correct. True Loves Kiss. You were handsome then and you're still handsome. You just have lips now." He kissed Marius cheek to sort of let him process it as he hugged Marius close. "I'm glad you stopped crying. I'm sorry Marianna was so terrible to you though."
Marius hugged Evan tightly, burying his face in the other's shoulder. "T-Thank you…" He whispered. His voice was weak and shaky from disuse, although crying wasn't helping his case either. "Mm…" He nuzzled against Evan, purring almost inaudibly to himself.
He pet Marius and smiled. "No need to thank me, just be happy. You're voice is so handsome love. Just like you." He grinned and kissed Marius all over his cheek and then his lips once more, then pulled Marius as close as he could. He couldn't get enough of Marius.
Marius just clung tightly to Evan, allowing the other to hold onto him. "It's… it's been years…" He murmured weakly. He coughed a bit, wincing. It was obvious that he wasn't quite used to talking yet. He hesitated for a few seconds before gently kissing Evan's cheek. He was a bit clumsy, but that wasn't surprising.
Evan blushed and smiled, kissing his cheek back. "I'm glad I was able to give you your voice back. Would you like a glass of water my love?" He asked gently, looking down with love in his eyes, as he nuzzled his lover. "Or maybe some tea?"
Marius nodded a bit as he clung to Evan, clearly tired from crying. "Y-Yeah… some… something that tastes good, preferably…" He rubbed at his tired eyes, his ears drooping. "It's been a long time since I've gotten to properly eat or drink anything either, so…"
He nodded and took off his shirt, which he tucked into Marius's arms. "I'll be right back." He got up and headed too the kitchen, and came back a mug of hot apple cider, which he handed to Marius as he headed back to the room. "Here you go my prince. Be careful, it's really hot."
Marius was hugging the shirt tightly by the time Evan returned, his cheeks lightly flushed. He glanced up at the other when he brought in the cider and held out his hands for it. Once he had it, he blew on it a bit to cool it down before beginning to sip it.
Evan smiled and put his shirt back on. "Marius? Do you think I'm strange for wearing dresses? And having more…feminine attributes?" He asked gently as he stretched a bit and lay down next to Marius. He was afraid that Marius would judge him heavily for it, or thought he was weird.
