Eve arranged everything once Rowan brought it up. "Welcome home, darlings," she said, setting the kittens down on her couch.
Rowan set down the rest of the things and winced as he rolled his wrist a bit to try and stretch it out. It cramped up and he bit his lip, his hand seizing up. "H-How are Bean and Nollie doing…?" He asked tiredly.
Eve noticed and frowned. "I told you I'd help you," she muttered, rolling her eyes. "They're doing fine. You're not. Come here." She motioned for him to come closer.
"I am fine… my hand's just a little cramped…" Rowan reluctantly approached, trying to stretch out his hand and wincing as it locked itself up again.
Eve shook her head and took his hand in hers. "Yeah, only a little," she remarked sarcastically. "There's still something messed up with your wrist." She gently stretched his hand out, using her fingers to massage his palm expertly.
Rowan sighed and allowed Eve to help, although his hand still felt strained and painful. "Sorry… I just wanted to help get everything set up for the kittens. I didn't think it would irritate my wrist so much…"
Eve frowned and stretched out his fingers. "It would have been faster and less painful for you if you let me help," she pointed out, working his cramps in the right ways thanks to her near-doctor status.
"I know… I'm sorry." Rowan winced again, his forearm trembling with strain. "I-I wanted to let you rest, too… it'll be fine. Might just be a couple of uncomfortable minutes, and I can handle that, right?"
Eve scoffed lightly. “What do I need rest from? You’re the one with the literal injury. And it might last more than a couple minutes.”
"Well… I thought you might still be upset…" Rowan replied softly, looking away with a light flush. "H-How long do you think it'll last?"
“Upset from what?” Eve asked easily, continuing to stretch him. “Not sure.”
"From… you know… Christopher." Rowan replied, closing his eyes and drawing in a wavering breath.
(Beep)
(Bump?)
(Hey, sorry. My life has been a literal shitshow for like 3 months, and I'm just now getting back to mostly normal.)
Eve pursed her lips slightly. "No, I'm not giving him another second in my thoughts more than he needs."
(Np!)
"Fair enough…" Rowan grimaced again, his fingers twitching a bit. His wrist was definitely hurting now, and he was worried he might have damaged it further. "We'll need to finish getting things set up for the kittens…"
"I'll get things set up for the kittens. You will rest," Eve declared firmly. The kittens meowed, almost as if they were agreeing with her.
Rowan sighed. "I lost helping privileges? C'monnnn, I can put on a brace and I'll be fine!" He insisted, despite the fact that he still couldn't move his hand.
"No," Eve countered firmly. "I won't have you hurting yourself any further."
Rowan huffed a bit, but resigned. "Fine… what am I supposed to do, then?" He asked.
"You can… direct?" Eve suggested with a half-smile.
Rowan rolled his eyes. "I just… feel useless. I don't want to just be sitting here while you do all the work."
(Um… hey lol. I'm back!)
"Darling, you're the farthest thing from useless," Eve cooed, heading over to the cat tree to set it up.
(Welcome back lol, it's been a few months)
Rowan sighed and leaned back, massaging his wrist with his good hand. "If there's anything you'll allow me to do, let me know, yeah? I want to help."
(Yeah, just a few lol)
Eve shook her head. "You need to rest. It won't get better if you keep putting strain on it."
