Mara smiled a little at him. She didn't think he messed up his answer since she was able to understand it. Though she would probably have to see or something to really understand it.

That wasn't going to happen for the class, at the least, seeing as Darius had no intention of bringing Mara anywhere either against her will or around so many people. Even now all he wanted was to keep her safe.
Honestly, Mara wasn't too keen on the idea of being around other people like Darius. At least, not anytime soon. It was too… intimidating for her.
Darius looked to the time, letting out a breath.
"Should probably get ready for the day," he admitted, looking to Mara. "Need a lift back?"
Mara looked up at him and tilted her head slightly. “Aren’t you ready now?” she asked since she was already before she joined Darius for breakfast. “Sure. If you want to, it would be nice.” she agreed.
"Not completely," Darius admitted. "I've got to clean my teeth, and get my things around for school." Darius offered his hand to Mara when she said she'd be okay with the lift, humming some.
“Oh… So you have to leave today?” she asked, a little disappointed at the thought as she climbed onto his hand. Mara was used to having the house to herself but now she wasn't really looking forward to that.
"Yes, I do, unfortunately." Darius lifted Mara up as he always did, turning to walk out to the living room again. He had school, and people he had to talk to about different things.
Mara sat down as she was carried, wondering why she was going to miss him so much after only knowing Darius for a day. “And you'll put the picture up before you leave?” she asked for a bit of security in case one of his friends came over while he wasn't home.
"For sure," Darius said, nodding. "I don't want any repeats. I should probably move the hiding spot for the key so no one can get in…"
Mara smiled gratefully at his assurance and suggestion. “If you really want to hide it… I know a little spot near the door that might work.” she offered.
"Ah, really? That'd be a lot of help!" Darius offered a small smile as he walked with Mara, nodding.
Mara smiled brightly, glad he liked her idea. “I can tuck it away while you're gone.” she told him. “It’ll give me something to do.”
"Got it! Thank you," Darius said, sincerely. This time, he moved the curtain to the side some, offering his hands for Mara to just simply step off.
Mara smiled gratefully at him as she slid off his hand, since she had her own hands were full this time and she wouldn't be able to do the same maneuver as last time.
Darius smiled back, making sure Mara was off before pulling his hand back. He moved to leave, back towards his bedroom and the bathroom.
Mara watched him for a moment before taking the wooden disk over to her kitchen to wash it. Though she was debating if she would take care of it now or later.
Darius hummed some as he brushed his teeth, looking at himself in the mirror for a moment. This was strange indeed still, but that was okay. He wanted to get used to sharing his entire home with just Mara.
Mara looked around at her little home, trying to remember what she needed to do today. She wasn't too worried about food right now because of the large breakfast she’d had with Darius, so that was a weight off her mind.
Darius finished getting ready, stepping out into the living room again.
"I'm going to be heading out now," he said, picking up the picture and offering Mara a smile. "See you later?"
Mara turned, looking up at Darius when she heard him speak and gave a brief nod and small smile. “Ok. I’ll see you later.” she agreed, already anticipating his return.
Darius smiled with a nod, putting the picture back in place. He was looking forward to his own return, and he hadn't even left yet. He hummed some, grabbing his keys, wallet, and backpack before finally heading out the door and locking it.
Mara watched until the familiar darkness came back over her house. She sighed softly and pulled the curtain back in place for a little extra security until she could take care of the key.
(feel free to skip, if you want. Or if you have something that can happen during school…)
(Aaa, it's something I wanted to run by you first- perhaps when Mara is going out to move the key the friend from the day before comes back?)
(I’d be fine with that happening)
