"nothin in particular. thank you for being concerned, love." he sighed, popping his neck and leaning back on his hands.

he sat silently with her, eventually leaning on her ever-so-slightly.

after a while, he looked down.
"they've lost the scent. got any more jobs to do?"

@ElderGod-kirky group

"I technically have to finish that one, but I'm gonna give it to Diego because he claimed it wouldn't be that hard. Other than that, there are two assassination contracts that I need to look into."

he nodded, thinking for a moment. when he did speak up, he seemed less distressed. "need any help?"

@ElderGod-kirky group

She pulled out her phone to check the text message Rawling had sent her. "*Niiiiice. One is quite a bit that-a-ways," she pointed to the left. "And the other is the same quite a bit that-a-ways," she pointed to the right. "Both penthouses with rooftop pools."

Deleted user

"fun. let's ride."

when they arrived at the place, nik looked at tessa for guidance. "so, what's your plan?"

@ElderGod-kirky group

She placed her hands on her hips, staring up at the building–more specifically, the roof with the pool, even if she couldn't really see it. "Well… the pool's convenient and quieter than outright slaughtering him." You could tell she had such a great plan already laid out.

Deleted user

"fun. how are we to get him in there?" he raised an eyebrow at her, amused at her lack of planning.

Deleted user

"fair. here, i have a lockpick." he pulled it out of his back pocket and began to work on the lock.

She stood over him, making sure no one saw him breaking in. The place seemed quite empty–thankfully.
Her phone buzzed with a text from Rawling. 'Heard about your epic failure. Is the great Golden Huntress finally bested by some guard dogs?' She could hear the amusement in the text, and she scowled at her phone and put it away.

Deleted user

"what's got your face in a twist, hun?" he looked around, searching for small valuables to swipe.

@ElderGod-kirky group

"Rawling's making fun of me," she pouted, then grew serious as she searched the place. It was dark, but his car was outside. So luck was on her side for this one–he was likely in the pool.

"aww. poor tess." he chuckled, inspecting a watch left on a counter.

@ElderGod-kirky group

"Yes, poor me. Feel free to take what you like. It's not like he's going to need it anytime soon." She glanced up at the ceiling as if she could see the pool up above.

Deleted user

he pocketed the watch. "i'm not aiming to steal too much, but that watch will sell for a lot."
nik listened for a moment, trying to see if he could hear the man up above.

Deleted user

he studied her for a moment.
"you don't want me to see you kill." it was a statement, not a question, but his face was easy. "that's respectable. i'll keep watch."

She nodded and headed upstairs. The man was indeed lounging in his pool–with no bathing suit–with some sort of mask over his eyes. She crept up behind him, grabbing his belt from the pile of clothes next to the pool.
As silent as a cat, she came up behind him. He had yet to realize his end was near.

nik sat cross-legged on the man's kitchen counter, keeping an eye on the door and a butterfly knife tight in hand.

Tessa quickly looped the belt around the man's neck, twisting and pulling it so it was tight. The man thrashed in the water and clawed at the belt crushing his windpipe, but Tessa heaved him up and wrapped her legs around his neck.
She counted down the seconds, blank-faced and emotionless as she slowly brought his life to an end. Pretty soon, he slumped down and stilled. She tossed him in the pool face down so that he'd drown–just in case he wasn't dead.
